    Will you be taking advantage of this offer? Which resort are you thinking of staying in?

  • @adelaidestyle6591

    Thank you for the comprehensive video Sophie. The small print says “ Upgrades to Free Disney Dining Plans must be selected for all members of the party for the full duration of the stay depending on the type of the participating Disney Resort.” This stipulation would imply that an upgrade to the dining plan is possible, as well as what people have heard from Disney theirselves.
    We were looking to stay in a Moderate resort anyway and I am definitely thinking of upgrading us to the full dining plan. From the way I look at it, our quick service and snack is free, and we would be pre paying £30 for our table service meal. So basically any meal that is over £30 (roughly $38 ~ $36 pre tax) is a win. Because we are not paying for the full dining plan out of pocket there’s much more flexibility in where to dine whilst still being cost effective. Also allows you to go for signature dining which normally would be a terrible deal on the dining plan as they cost two credits but a couple of them you still save, or just about break even. And if you have to use the credits anyway, may as well go somewhere you like, you’re still saving at other places.
    Your quick service meal being free takes out the stress of complicated maths to get your ‘money’s worth’, which is hard for those with any sort of dietary requirements. Paying for a quick service dining plan out of pocket is only worth it for meat-eating alcoholics 😂
    But yes, value resorts get a rum deal tbh, the £30 for another quick meal and snack is not worth it.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for such an awesome comment!
      I think the 'upgrades...' small print relates to when you book there will be the regular room rate and then an option with the regular room rate that includes the dining plan so I think they mean you need to select the second option to qualify for the offer. (This is how the website has always been in the past but I may be wrong!) I am hoping that people will be able to pay the difference and upgrade if they wish!
      For moderate resort guests upgrading to the full dining plan could be a great deal! The way you are thinking of it is perfect! As you say the QS part is free so paying just £30 for a table service meal is a great deal!
      You are so right - when you pay for the dining plan there are so many people it doesn't work out for! If you have dietary requests they are usually the cheaper items on the menu so you end up pay so much more than you would out of pocket! 100% you need to eat the most expensive dish and get alcohol with every meal to make it worth while!

    We're a family of 4 and was looking to go to Pop Century or Art of Animation but now looks like it might be more worth going for the moderate! So hard to choose where to go 😂 Due to work and schools, we literally can only go for 2 weeks at the end of July any year so not much flexibility

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад

      Hi! It is so true that if there is 4 of you the cost different between staying at Pop or AoA and upgrading the meal plan versus upgrading to a moderate resort isn't much so can absolutely be worth it! Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside are the most family friendly! (Just be aware standard rooms at Caribbean Beach aren't included but all other room types are!).
      It is always so hard for families when they can only visit certain times of the year and costs go up! But the more people you have in a room the better value it is so a family of 4 is perfect!

  • @chloem8832
    @chloem8832 4 месяца назад +2

    I mean you also get the upgrade to a moderate or deluxe resort. It’s not just the dining plan you get. So if you’d love to stay in a nicer resort it can be a great option too.
    However for us as a family of 4 ‘adults’ the free dining plan is such a bargain honestly.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад +1

      For people already planning, or thinking about, staying in a moderate or deluxe resort it is a really great deal, particularly the more people you have in the room! It will be great with 4 of you!
      For people thinking about upgrading just for the next level of dining plan it doesn't always work out for (if they weren't considering upgrading the resort anyway).

  • @elenboswell9978

    We (4 adults) stayed previously in Coronado Springs when you got the dining card, that actually worked out quite well.
    However we’re hoping to book for 9 nights in late Jan at All Star Music family suite. It works out around £75 per person per night so with the quick service credit worth around £20 it’s pretty good. We didn’t eat much on site anyway as the portions are quite large and we like to go off site some evenings. So we’re planning on stocking up at Walmart for breakfast items, snacks and drinks. We’ll use our qs credits at lunchtime with an alcoholic drink then go off site or get Uber eats for dinner. The cost to upgrade is not worth it for us but I would like a refillable mug but they’re only $20 so I’ll just buy one…or maybe the alien sipper cup 😂

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for sharing this! It is so true that if you love to dine off-site as well you don't always want to be stuck having to eat in Disney, so the flexibility is great! I am the same as you - I arrive and visit a supermarket and get drinks and breakfast for the room!
      OMG the alien sipper cup is a must!

    Is it worth upgrading from one meal per day to the quick serve knowing fine well that Disney will increase the food costs?

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  3 месяца назад

      This is such a great factor to take into consideration! I would say if you typically order the more expensive items on the menu and you like the bonus of one snack a day and the refillable mug then the upgrade can be worth it! (Particularly when factoring in increased costs!).
      I think for people who won't really use the refillable mug or snack then the upgrade costs more than you would pay out of pocket. But if you would use both of those then it can be a good option!

    • @wylliestraveladventures9730
      @wylliestraveladventures9730 3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah I stayed at the Coronado two years ago with the credits and that was much better. I've stayed at the Movies resort before and you used to get the mug etc included. My hubby likes his ice cream so we will probably upgrade as we got a really good price so what we would have paid two years ago we are getting the same including the upgrade although it is a value resort. Your only there to get your head down at the end of the day. Nothing is really free at Disney 😊

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  3 месяца назад +1

      It is such a shame that value resorts aren't getting the mug this time! It is great to upgrade and get the extra meal and snack a day! It's the best when you've got a great prices and I totally agree it is much better to upgrade the dining plan rather than the resort because the cost is so much better! And like you say when you are at Disney you aren't in the room much and I really like the value resorts so this is the perfect plan!

    This is a great video, thank you. We have just booked to go back to coronado springs next year and have the QS dining plan, however im disapointed to see only one location there is included in the dining plan and all you can get there are breakfast items or Appetizers, I think this is due to alot of the dining places there not being owned by disney. The 2024 deal has 4 options at coronado so I wonder why its dropped down to 1 now. Also only 4 options available at disney springs compared to this years deal that has 35 options at disney springs. Do you think more may be added between now and next year or the list of available options will be final. thanks again!

      Thank you so much for watching! It is so fabulous you have booked for next year! It is the best having a countdown!
      You are so right that looking at the official list of participating restaurants there are far fewer than previous years! It is such a shame that there is only one quick service location included at Coronado Springs and only 4 at Disney Springs!
      In the fine print it does say this is subject to change, so we could see more restaurants added towards the end of the year potentially. But as this is the official list from Disney for now we have to assume these are the only restaurants taking part.
      It will definitely limit where people can dine and need to plan ahead so they know they can use their credits!

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад +1

      In previous years you have always been able to get snacks from lots of extra locations that were never on the list - such as the popcorn carts. In the fine print the list of snacks seems limited but I have been told that this was just to save space so hopefully most of the snacks available in previous years will still be available. There is a purple DDP logo that will be placed next all items that are classed as a snack so anytime you see that you know you can get it included in your plan!

    Thank you! This has so much great information. I was wondering if it'd be worth paying to upgrade from a value, but I don't think it will for us unless there's a huge discount to the full dining plan 😂
    I'm disappointed they didn't even throw in a refillable mug with the value resorts.
    I'm curious how it will work with the children's menus at QS. They're usually mac n cheese or chicken tenders. My 7 year old won't eat those for 14 lunches in a row!
    Daft question, but is everything on the menu at a QS outlet included in the QS plan? I know snacks have the dpp symbol, but what about the meals, is it everything listed? Sorry if that's an obvious question!

    First of all, thank you for this video Sophie!
    To be honest, I am disappointed in this offer, especially in the offer for the value hotels. I am planning on going solo to Disney World in September 2025 and I was so excited for the Dining and Merchandising Credits to come back. I originally was planning on staying either at Pop century or at one of the all star resorts. But I feel like you don’t really get much out of this offer if you want to eat at table service restaurants (which is what I mainly wanna do because I have never dined at a table service restaurant). And even the Disney Dining Plan is not that great because, like you said, not all restaurants are participating (space 220, California Grill). And also the Table service plan only includes your main course and a dessert food wise, sometimes you waiter will swap the dessert with an appetizer but that is not guaranteed. I personally prefer appetizers than desserts which is why I didn’t wanna buy the Dining plan in the first place.
    Coincidentally I watched some Videos from Bekah Hart and DVC Fan on YT about renting DVC points and after the offer was announced I did some more research . Renting DVC points for a value studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge for 3 weeks (which is the amount of weeks I am planning to stay) in September 2025 you would have to pay $3,795 (without tickets). Staying at an all star resort for the same amount of weeks in September 2025 costs €4,014 (German here) (also without tickets). So to me THAT is a deal. Would I have to pay for my food out of pocket? Yes, but I would also stay at a deluxe resort and have those exclusive benefits like extended evening hours at MK and Epcot. And the DVC rental store has a cancellation policy! They will refund you a credit that you can use for another trip should you have to cancel for some reason.
    Sorry for ranting but I just had to talk about this. If you are a bigger group then that offer could be great for you! But it’s not great for solo travelers in my opinion.
    Lot of love to you Sophie🫶🏻🫶🏻

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  4 месяца назад

      This is definitely a disappointing offer for solo travellers and people staying at a value resort! I also love to eat at table service restaurants! It is swings and roundabouts because I feel like one benefit to the value resort is you have 1 QS meal a day but then you can choose what the other meal is, so if you want a TS meal you can (but obviously you are paying out of pocket!) Whereas with the QS dining plan at moderate resorts you have to eat 2 QS meals a day which I don't think I could do!
      It is so great to hear about the DVC points making it cheaper to stay at a deluxe resort than a value resort! That is a great deal! And it's fantastic to have found a reseller site that allows cancellations! This is such a top tip!
      I totally agree this is a deal just for big groups (and staying at moderate or deluxe resorts) and such a shame for solo travellers who already pay a huge amount to stay at Disney!

I did read Disney's official stance is that international guests can no longer buy magic bands to send to their resort (from the Disney World website). However they do say you may be able to purchase them from the US Disney Store website and have them sent to the hotel. They recommend under your name you put "Your Name + GUEST ARRIVING" and insert your arrival date so the hotel know.
      If you were going to try this I would buy it a week before the trip, just because I don't know how long hotels will hold items for. It is worth noting Disney charge $6 to hold items.
