2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Issues - Main screen locked up

- So after taking a phone call today, the main screen locked up on my month old 2022 Grand Wagoneer. It took resetting the main screen to get it to unlock. Now this is a pretty simple Bluetooth function that caused this $110,000 vehicles main screen to freeze while in operation! This is the third issue I have had today in a 1 hour time frame. I don't know about you, but it is pretty obvious this vehicle wasn't ready for game time and should never been released to a deal to be sold!!!
For anyone having issues with their Uconnect system, I suggest a soft reboot it’s a computer on wheels gathering information constantly, and it’s new to the world , lol push in the volume button and the scroll button at the same time for 10 seconds, screen will go off and restart , this can be done with vehicle on and in motion.
I guess you are going to let the vehicle drive itself for 10 seconds while both of your hands are on the radio? Pull off the road and stop/restart your vehicle. If that doesn't free it up, then do the reboot.

@@lesliemurphy5435 I'm calling BS on you. Those two buttons are 11 inches apart. I have large hands and am not even close to hitting both buttons at the same time with one hand. Either you are a freak of nature or talking out of you rear end. 😅

Some guy told me to do this and it worked
press and hold the power and the tune button for 15 seconds or so inside the big nobs. Good luck

This just worked for me in my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Stuck in valet mode (idk how it got into that) and screen was frozen. Thank you to this comment!
I just bought a 2023 Wagoneer series 2 and 5 days later the main screen is black nothing works not even heated seats back up camera radio nothing from the main screen I call the dealer and they don’t even take me cause they don’t have appointments I’m so disappointed after spending 100 thousand dollars for the crap any idea what can be ? My appointment is in 6 days and they don’t even have a loan car worst car ever

I just purchased a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III for my wife. It was delivered to us on 3/12/2022 and it has been to the dealership twice. It is actually at the dealership now, the first time they said they have no clue why it has issues and they do not have a fix at the moment. I was advised to bring the vehicle back once an update has been released. When I brought it back and explained the situation to my wife she was pissed. She said we just spent damn near $100,000 for this hunker, it should not be having issues.
Issues:
Uconnect system does not play audio from rear screens when you tap “listen” at the head unit in the front
USB media does not read video files ( yes i have everything formatted based on unconnect supported files)
Both rear screens glitch left and right as if there is a loose connection
Rear screen mirroring does not work all the time
Saved profile settings for the seat and mirror positions randomly swapped on it’s own
Some people may say not to complain or it may be fixed soon, I understand, but at the same time, a decent amount of money was spent on this vehicle. We should not be experiencing these issues.
I had to remove the negative battery terminal once since the screen was stuck in the same position and turning the car off did not fix it.
I totally agree with you. Customer service was great to ma. I would suggest reaching out to them if you are still having issues.
@@MarkBruno I having an attorney working on the case now. They’ve had the car for 60+ days at the dealership and FCA denied the buyback 2 times from the wagoneer rep. We’ll see what happens, terrible quality control.

cherokee laredo l 2023 screen lock up today, 4k miles. Stressing out about what i will have to deal with at dealership.
That happened to me a few days ago in our GCL, try removing your phone/bluetooth device and adding it again. No ac controls due to a bluetooth device miss function sucks! Uconnect 5 is my biggest complaint so far, and still no update for 21’s.
Dang bro. Watched some more of your videos and I’m shocked. They need to start over and take this vehicle back and just replace it out right. Kind of like todays version of King’s “Christine”. It’s cursed right from the factory me thinks. My wife likes the Wagoneer and we’ll be looking this fall for 2023 year. Hope they sort these issues out. I’d be beyond frustrated. Sorry about your experience.
I think I said this before, I still love the vehicle and think they have designed a great SUV. I really want one and this particular one has a build date of July '21, which is when production started from what I have been told. My guess is the current vehicles in production have most of these bugs worked out. A few U-connect issues are expected as their are so many variable with phones and settings, but this one obviously has other issues.
They offered to buy it back. I am just waiting on the offer. In case you are wondering, I will order another one!
Thanks for the update. I hope they just offer to build another one and take the lemon one back. Hopefully they worked out those “early production issues”. I agree it’s an impressive automobile, just needs to work correctly and be built correctly….especially at 100k+

Thanks to everyone for help had this problem this morning, screen froze up 12 degrees in New York City turn off screen for 15 seconds and it reset

Walked out this and fired up the 22 Grand Cherokee limited, screen frozen, 500 miles on it, I’m pissed, traded my 21 ram in ( never any issues) for this purchase to appease my wife. She’s very quiet right now😁 hood luck

same thing just happened to me on a 2023 GC Limited, car is 3 days old. Traded in my 2019 GC Limited, never had a single problem with it. Not a lot of confidence here, $54, 180 and this what you get
Good luck you’re gonna need it. I hope you bought a extended warranty with this vehicle if it’s not a lease. I spoke to a Jeep dealership about the vehicle and they’re having so many problems with this SUV. The write up person stated the dealership is buying back two Grand Wagoneer’s. They have the same problem with providing loaners . If you keep on having problems you may want to ask for them to buy it back, while you still can.
Had my series 3 GW since March and it’s been perfect! 🤷🏽♂️

There is a software issue recall with the air bags apparently the jeep turns off the airbag without anyone knowing jeep FCA says a software update will fix the problem
I wonder how many other issues are going on with the safety/software that we do not know about? That is my biggest concern with this vehicle I own. There are so many careless mistakes that were made on the production of this vehicle, it just makes me wonder what else is wrong that I can't see.😟
@@MarkBruno it’s literally just electronics issues you’ve had. I’ve seen no engine issues or trans issues. The diff is electronically controlled with the electronic buttons as well so I’m throwing that in there .
Did you see the video of the windshield? How about the body panels? The rear windows are loose and rattle when they are cracked open. This thing was built in July of 2021 (first production run was in July) and was released to be sold with all of these issues. For a $113k vehicle, there really isn't any excuse for that. I have owned plenty of other vehicles, and not a single one has a body that was put together as poorly as this one. That includes my 2019 Challenger Redeye and my wife's 2020 Ram 2500. Not to mention the Cadillac Escalade EXT I had prior to the Grand Wagoneer.
So if anybody still looking how to reset it you have to push and hol power and tune button together over 10 seconds and it will reset.
Same bs happened to me tune off turn on back the car sh*t is frozen. Doesn’t come back.

Clearly Jeep rushed this vehicle and the Grand Cherokee L...we have a Grand Cherokee L and have constant issues with uconnect, the android auto will not connect wirelessly. The bluetooth constantly disconnects and the screen goes black. The dealer has no fix and says basically live with it until a software update comes out. Mechanically we have had zero issues however the software problems are a nightmare. The car also has numerous rattles that simply shouldnt be present in a car of this price. I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu with 90,000 miles that has less rattles and noises than the Jeep. Build quality is absolutely unacceptable.
That is unfortunate and I am sorry to hear you are having issues. I would suggest you open a case with Jeep Customer Service. I can tell you now that I have been in touch with them, things have been progressing at an acceptable rate.
Jeep has been great once I got through to them. They are in the process of buying it back. The good news is I will order another one. I love this design! It rides great, the interior is first class. I just got a lemon...
