      Absolutely agree!

    • @rowanrooks
      @rowanrooks 10 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed! I would also consider this piece a challenge more from a design standpoint. It wasn't as technically difficult or time consuming to fill in the columns with solid colors as it would have been to add patterns, but this piece was still a challenge because this solid chunky graphic style is new. Figuring out how to work in different styles can be stressful but rewarding!

    This mold just SCREAMS 1980s. The '80s had a bit of an Art Deco mini revival at least in the US. If you glazed this in a solid pale pink, mint or baby blue and put bright tropical flowers in it, it would look right at home on the set of the Golden Girls. It also has a very '50s feel, especially, again in those solid, pastel colors.

  • @jpendowski7503
    @jpendowski7503 10 месяцев назад +70

    This is definitely an 80’s piece after the style of Haeger pottery in Illinois USA. Solid color ways in black, ivory, teal, peach & dusty rose would have been common. The shape is likely a ‘Console’ made for narrow tables in hallways or behind couches. Love your colorful interpretation. Cheers from the Midwest USA. 💜

    I was a florist for a long time, adn we used to get containers that look like this. They were meant for, instead of loose flowers, to put wet floral foam in to make arrangements. Edit: Usually the ones this big went for large funeral arrangements or centerpieces.

    Very 80's ceramic base for a dried arrangement. Arrangement must include dried eucalyptus and hydrangeas or peonies. Colours on stripes might be dusty rose, salmon, dusty sage green, or mint. Lol. Total flashback moment fir me.

    I feel like my mum painted pieces like this in the late 90's early 2000's and all the columns would have been one colour and only the three stripes across the front would have contrasted. The whole dried flowers movement was big then and any vessel that could hold them was popular. A cute lil planter.

    90’s version of art deco. A lot of them were painted mauve. Loving your videos!

    The stop-motion segment was so fun to watch! Well-done!
    My favourite piece was the one with the blue swipe through the warm colours. Something about the cool vs. warm. Love your channel!

    I would use this vessel as a planter. The shape would be great for a shallow surface. So pretty!

    I hv seen vintage 'planters' exactly like this shape! Usually were with dark green & the bubbled reliefs were in pink. There was a fade of the green rather than being a solid dark green. I hv also seen all pink or green & Cranberry. They usually had philidandroms planted in them with the leaves cascading down the front. One of FAV planters from the 40'-50's. I LOVE your YT! I love your excitement of discovery!❤❤❤

    White and blue would be gorgeous on this to give it a barbershop/ Music man vibe.

    Oh, if that planter was worked up in Emerald green, or one of the McCoy colours, it would be so lovely.

    Reminds me of bamboo stalks. Pretty in natural colors. Your end results with multicolor paints turned out great.

    This reminds of the floral arrangements that FTD would send out in the '70s or so, from america
