Those teams made me feel good. They would let teams hang around then go on 25-5 runs. Arlen bowers n Kenny Hawkins were two of my favorite non may-day miller players. I really miss the good old days. Remember reunion arena they called it barn hill south cause we were undefeated at one time. I was only 12 n I lived n died by each Arkansas basketball game living in Tulsa ok.
People may laugh at this but 1991 Arkansas team was the most talented team they ever had & yes I'm serious. In the final 8 game against Kansas they just went cold shooting & Bowers got into foul trouble somehow losing a game that they matched up very well against the opponent. This team was DEEPER than the 1990 team the second 5 off the bench could have started on most teams & Bowers was actually a defensive beast & had improved a lot from 1990. The 1994 team got the breaks & ball bouncing their way a few times & that can be the difference in winning a championship.
@@WARMACHINE2013 I remember they had an alumni game between the 1991 guys and 1994 guys in '96 maybe? Any way, despite the '94 team being closer to their peak the '91 guys blew them out. Athletically, the 1991 team was way ahead of the 1994 team. But the 1994 team had that "something" that would not let them lose. 1994 had four or five guys you wouldn't mind having the ball with the clock running down and game on the line.
@@bitterbob30 The 91 team had a great point guard who could shoot the ball. I do respect Corey Beck’s play and what he did for us helping us win a championship but he was no Mayberry. The 94 team I guess you could say had a great synergy and cohesiveness. It is not the best 5 players to put on the court that’s important but the best 5 players that know how to play together that wins I guess you could say.
@@bitterbob30 I was there and it was not a blowout. 94 team had them down by 20 before the 91 team chipped away and won it late. Corliss wasnt even supposed to play and showed up at tip off.....probably the best basketball game ive ever seen.......WPS!!!
The 89-90 team was the better team, but this team drive me crazy. They had so much talent but underachieved. Had a 7point lead vs duke n the final 4 to lose then 12 point lead vs kansas then May-Day senior yr to lose to memphis n round of 32 just hurt me. Todd Day had so much Wasted talent. Oliver miller was arguably the best nba player but it was only due to his size. U can't teach 7'0"
I think this 90-91 team was one of the best in NCAA basketball history to never have won a title. They were arguably the most talented team in the country from top to bottom. UNLV had the better starting five, but from 1-12, this Hog team had it. The loss to Kansas was one of the more depressing games I watched as a youngster (was probably 11-12 at the time), but I followed college basketball religiously back then.
I was about to ask do you have 1991 Sweet 16 game and presto hear it is. I know you probably don't want to post it but if you happen to have the Final 8 game would be great or at least the 1st half
And 3 years later in Charlotte Colosseum (where this game and the 1994 title game held) the hogs won the title

I don't have that one. This game and SWC title game are the only two I have from that season.
Lol..I work with Arlen Bowers. He's a really cool guy
Isn't he a fireman these days?
yep, and an EMT for one of the hospitals here in Memphis.
Before Sprewell was choking coaches
Sprewell a great player 4 time NBA all star him a Robert Horry had a better than any Arkansas player expect maybe the great Sidney moncrief

I agree they were the most talented, but the 94 team was pretty dominant, too.

40 minutes of hell
A Bible Belt battle in the NCAA Tournament
Not 1 Alabama highlight in entire video
They lost by 23
@@WARMACHINE2013 still would like to see highlights from great NBA talent like Horry and Spreewell

Do you have the whole game? I'd love to get a hold of it.
I do! Although CBS did cut away at the end to show another game.
@@WARMACHINE2013 That's awesome. is there any way you can upload it, even if it's unlisted or send it to me?
