    So many people tend to forget that paintball isn't just a casual hobby, it's a sport, and having a higher level of physical fitness is important and will absolutely make a difference in your game. Looking forward to your content.

      Thanks Kevin! I'm glad you see the value in physical fitness because you're absolutely right, our skill can only get as good as our body can handle, so a better body equals better paintball!

    We have a lot in common. Bout to turn 37 and I "retired" in 07, now making my triumphant (hopefully lol) return to my all time favorite sport!

    Welcome back! I too "retired" circa 2006 and came back after moving to WI. First big game back was Michigan Monster Game 2018 and haven't stopped since with big games, rec , and tournaments. I'm 46 now.
    If your Ion is still giving you problems, you might want to consider meching it.

      Thanks! I luckily figured out that the issue on the ion was the armature so it's back up and running!

    35, got back in 2 years ago (welcome back!) and every tournament I pull my groin... not a ton of talk about what exercises to do, thanks for the info!

      Definitely a good video topic idea! Try working your way deeper and deeper with lateral lunges and cossack squats while also focusing on wide stance (sumo) deadlifts. Go slow and start very light w/ higher volume but over the course of a few months you should notice your adductors (groin muscles) being MUCH more resilient while playing

    For those hot full sun days I like to run all white pods with help keep my pods cooler than standard dark colored pods. I also always bring an rolling cooler to keep my paint, drinks and snacks cool.

      I brought a cooler on this particular day as well - super important to protect everything from the heat, not just your body!

    I’d watch some of Ryan greenspans videos on diving. Also when you slide I’d try and keep your weight forward and use your hand as a pivot point

      I love that idea! Wisconsin is slowly warming up so once the ice is melted and the ground is dry I'll see what I can do for a follow-up vid! I definitely have a couple videos in mind already but turning this into a somewhat of a series is definitely an idea I want to look into so I'll start brainstorming some ideas, thanks!

    13:30 I'm dealing with something similar. When holding my marker with my left (dominant) hand, hip sliding on my right side is really smooth and low. Barely feel any of it. Marker with my right hand? Completely different and sloppy. Need more time working on it.

    Hello Ben and welcome to RUclips. First of all, sorry for my english isn't my native language. I'm from Venezuela and living in Chile actually. I'm 33 years old and i play paintball since 2007 but i quit for 6 years and i came back August 2021. I started a RUclips channel posting raw games and some edited videos. Ok now you know something about me, i'm going to tell what's hook me up of your channel, since you have an experience in coaching and nutrition. I think you have a lot to offer to the paintball comunnity but focusing your videos on how to build your muscle, strength or stamina in certain drill for example. How should be your diet, how to recover your body more faster, etc. There's a lot of videos of people pro or semipro doing drills or teaching movements, and don't take me wrong but you have to work on the form of playing paintball (Stance, shotting movement, etc). But you have something that any channel of paintball have and thats the knowledge from your certifications, you have to exploit that and maybe do collaboration with some of those pro i tell you before. For example, Greg Montalvo (MLKings actually playing on Latin Saints) he have a very good channel on youtube about drills and SVP Paintball Steve Von Peterson D2 Player with a lot of knowledge of tactics maybe you can do some collab with those. SVP Paintball have a discord server with big paintball comunnity you can auto promote there and i think if you focus your videos on what i said before about build muscles, how to warm up, wich muscle build for snake for example. People will love that. Thanks to read my feedback and i hope it works for you.

      You're absolutely right Ernesto! I've partnered with Soulless Photography to create videos of people playing paintball, which I'll then explain the positions being used, the muscles they stress, and exercises that will improve your performance in that exact position! I'm currently working 3 jobs AND am the primary caretaker of 2 young children so I don't have a lot of time on my hands - this was the best I could do so far. I was already going to play so I figured I'd try to make a video showing how my understanding of how the human body adapts to new skills (it has to start slow first and build speed as you improve) can improve the drill quality of other paintballers.
      A lot of clinics just have players moving full-speed through the drills without actually starting slow and carefully increasing the speed so that the player gets accurate first, then faster. So that's the message of this video, but you're 100% right there are dozens of accounts talking about drills, so my future videos will be about fitness, exercise, nutrition, etc.
      Thanks for the comment and happy to have someone representing Venezuela and Chile here on my channel! Salud!

    This so great! Love this channel! Might consider getting a better mask. The hk and virtue masks are so comfortable. Just something to consider !

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +1

      I actually love how my vforce grill sits on my face but its breathability and hearing are terrible. I got the e-flex because it's SO much more breathable, lens is easy to change, and hearing is phenomenal. It's definitely not as comfortable on the face for sure, but any other mask I've tried that's more comfortable sacrifices breathability or hearing and for me those 2 things are more important.

    extremely glad you made this channel. i took a 12 year hiatus and just started back up in wcppl. im on my way back on track and have about 30 pounds to lose, lets just say im happy that the rate of fire is down to 10.5 😂. at 35 its hard to keep up with these 20 year old jaguars out there lol

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +1

      haha yeah I didn't like the sound of 10.5 at first but not only am I a fan but I've even gotten into the mechanical formats! those lower bps games make certain aspects of play much more enjoyable and definitely friendly to use older guys ;) Glad you came back to paintball and hope you stay tuned to this channel because weightloss, nutrition, and maintaining athleticism (or getting it back!) are things I'll be discussing here so I hope to give you some valuable info in future videos!

    I’ve been playing xball for almost ten years now. I am 42 and I noticed I can’t just show up to the field. I get muscle cramps which is my main weakness playing xball.

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the comment and FYI cramping is actually NOT often caused by a hydration or electrolyte imbalance as was once thought, it's actually considered to be more of a problem with the muscles being stressed in a way they're not used to which causes neurons to misfire, leading to cramping. This is precisely why sport-specific workouts are so beneficial - they expose those same muscles to the movements and positions used in the sport, in this case: paintball! So I hope you'll check out one of my paintball fitness programs at my website and give one a try :)

      TRUTH. Goi on 46 in December and I still love the sport! Used to be so scared of xball but learned to love it. Leg cramping is what gets me every time.
