- GaMetal returns to the Mario & Luigi series for this remix of the final showdown with Cackletta's Soul from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga!
It's been a few years since I did any Mario & Luigi stuff (Dark Star Core / In the Final back in 2013!), so what better time than now to cover one of the most requested M&L songs: Cackletta's Soul, with the recent Superstar Saga remake being released last month.

I think it's funny that in the GBA version of Superstar Saga, Cackletta literally just flips you off to initiate one of her attacks. Just sticks it right up. They didn't even try to change it.

Favorite final boss of the M&L series. She was a threat the entire time and not even death could keep her from fighting the plumber bros. Not only that, she takes over the big bad that gave M&L trouble for years. Cackletta’s a beast.

The mix of 'Last Cackletta', 'Fawful, Cackletta' and 'Bowletta Anger' in this is amazing. I literally listen to this on Spotify EVERY DAY! This is so good. Better than both in game versions (I prefer the original to the remake track). Great stuff!

but Jonny added in the regular Cackletta battle at around 2:06 (and it ended at 2:21), which isn't part of the original song. so wouldn't this be considered a remix? as far as I know, a cover wouldn't add in anything new that changes the song a lot (excluding Jonny's sick guitar solo, because he usually builds it around the original melody).
Johnny Hoang A cover is the same song, but it can have additional parts that do not stray away from the original too much. A remix is a song with a very similar style or rythym

The dark queen was a reference to the Xbox one secret in shovel knight, where the battletoads compare the enchantress to the dark queen.

One of the best final boss battle themes, recapturing the frantic tone, but enhancing it to a degree I didn’t think was possible. Awesome job!

Credit where credit needs to be given, this theme always had it. This perfectly fits the metal aspect, even when listening to the OG i always felt that an intense version woud be perfect.

This is probably top 3 in my favorite GaMetal covers. I saw this before leaving for school, so I decided to listen to it when I took the bus home (which usually takes about 4-7 minutes longer than going to school.) Best bus ride ever.
This is the song that would play on the last day of school in the mean teacher's classroom.

OH MY GOD MY MAN JONNY ATMA, I DON'T KNOW HOW YA DO THIS. This song seems impossible to replicate! But you got that covered...you NAILED IT, you made it feel exactly like the GBA version. You threw in the regular Cackletta battle theme and the encounter theme which is phenomenal, again I can't begin to imagine the process behind coming up with the timings for that kinda stuff...I'm just so proud you covered this song! Thank you so much :)

Every dislike on this video is a piece of Cacktellas soul that was destroyed and tried to come back for vengeance but the rock was so good that it became ashes after pressing the dislike button. So it couldn’t be unpressed.

Honestly the second half of this was amazing. Kinda makes me disappointed they didn't extend the melody in this way in the remake.
With M&L series coming back, and Atma having actually already covered the first four M&L games final boss themes after we got to see the final boss theme from Partners in Time, there's just one more thing to do. Guess what? Paper Jam's Final Battle / Shiny RoboBowser. Let's-a go!
I've only ever wanted Jonny to do one song for the past several years. And that would be Don Paolo's theme from the Professor Layton series. I think I'd honestly cry.
God i remember being such a high level when i fought her the first time,so replayed the game n i tried to stay at a low level only earning exp from bosses and unavoidable fights, IT WAS HARD AS HELL BUT SO FUN, Cackletta no doubt was the hardest took me 3 hours as i was only doing like 5-6 damage, for sure a made tons of core memories, awesome cover man!!

Unfitting in-game, but it would make for a great GaMetal cover. Even if it was in a Sonic 8-bit medley or something.
The remake version may be less enjoyable for casual listening, but I think it did a better job conveying the emotion of the scene than the original did.

This boss battle always held a special place in my heart because of how much effort it took me to get past it. I have the music basically engraved in my soul (pun not actually intended) and I can definitely say you did it justice, preserving the feel of the song while still adding awesomeness.
Speaking of great boss music, have you considered "Your Contract Has Expired" (The Snatcher's boss music) from A Hat in Time? It feels like something that would be right up your alley.
Always made me so happy whenever the final boss for a Nintendo game just threw metal music at you all of a sudden. Really good metal music as well.

I remember when I was packing up some stuff for the start of my family's moving process of our house in May I believe. While I was packing up some things in a box in my room, I was listening to this song due to my slight sadness. Man, this song and Elder Princess Shroob was so great when I first listened to them, and they still are a couple months later. Great stuff

Oh I remember when I finish this in an emulator, I got level 41 and 40 to the final boss, it seemed pretty easy, ah! But when he increased his attack and the attack of the fireballs and he gave you twice, you were dead ... I would like to play again, either in the emulator or the new version (Sorry for the bad english xD)

Cackletta's Soul is one of the most twistedly insane and straight up satanic final bosses Nintendo has ever made, possibly only beaten in that respect by Zelda and Kirby villains. She's practically the Devil of the Mario franchise and this hectic, chaotic remix exemplifies that.
