M&L has remained a very hot request in the GaMetal Song Ballots every year, so I had to make sure I brought you all at least one M&L tune this year.
I recently held a Mario & Luigi themed GaMetal Discord Request Battle, pitting this song against another popular M&L Boss Theme, Never Let Up!. I expected a close race.. but Tough Guy Alert! ended up winning by a HUGE (like Bowser) margin.
Which maybe I should've expected, given Bowser's awesomeness and all.

Just watching the gameplay here, it kind of reminds me of one of the things I really liked about this game. It puts into perspective the skill in fighting of the Mario Bros. When you play as Bowser and you see the damage he does by comparison to them, you _feel_ how much more physically powerful he is. There are enemies the Bros can run into, that bowser instantly stomps on and kills without even getting into the fight screen. At that, it shows that Bowser himself isn't just a mindless brute, and has a good amount of skill fighting as well. And yet at the end credits, like always, they take him down (and after that whole adventure, I was honestly kind of rooting for him at that point lol)
I very much agree putting my personal bias aside since bowser is my favorite character, he more then just a mindless beast he has plans the go pretty in depth and he has magic that puts Kamek's magic to shame to see him lose to the bros at the end was a little sad but the ending with the cake made it so much better he really deserved that especially all the stuff he went through

Tbf, the Mario bros are often just as powerful physically just due to the fact that they can wield giant mallets no problem. That and Mario being able to lift things 20x his size
@@Murr248 depending on what you source, Bowser has used brute strength to tear entire realities apart. He's always physically stronger than the Bros though no matter what it is; they beat him through agility and skill

I’ll be honest: I’m actually jealous of Bowser.
He gets health problems, Mario, Luigi and Chippy actually find the source of the problem and fix it while still keeping the natural order of his body intact.
I wish I had that!
They even improve preexisting things and make him literally immortal on occasion

I'm not sure if I'm blinded by nostalgia, but Bowser's Inside Story had the most fun bosses in the series in my opinion. The other games are good, but BIS is my absolute favorite.
i mean if you like bosses which get defeated in 2 turns cz of unbalanced bro attacks then go for it

@@Cobalt957 pro-strat: don't overlevel, use extremely OP special moves, or farm for the best gear if you're just trying to have fun.
There are very few fights that can't be beaten purely by decent strategy & having a decent inventory of recovery items.
@@penguin84101 not really. in normal playthrougs i just kill the bosses in the end in two turns because the bro attacks are busted. like the star mix does 500 damage with def drops etc. and the mystic window or how its called does infinite damage if you are good at this. and the bosses at the end only have around 1000 hp and so does the final boss which isnt much at all.
@@CaptainCFalcon i actually play most m&ls with some rules on top like having a level cap, no items in battle, only one new clothing per new area and stuff like that. and still after all these things most of the bosses in the end of m&l bis die in 2 turns cz this game didnt balance things

Almost perfect game in my opinion this is where bowser shines most.
what I love most about this game is its antagonist, Fawful.
I second this! Another cover from this excellent game was much needed. One of the first I’ve ever played and regretfully, sends dream team to second place in my book, but the OST is so good!

OH YES, Elder Princess Shroob is tomorrow (I'd recognize that silhouette anywhere)! Considering how somber and dark that theme is I'm looking forward to how Johnny will handle that track (maybe we'll even get a combination of the first phase and second phase, that could be pretty cool)!

i felt a _giant_ smile creep onto my face around 2:10, okey dokey is probably my favorite battle theme in the game if not the whole mario & luigi series and i _had_ the thought of wondering if you'd ever cover it as i began listening to this, so that caught me completely off-guard in the best way possible
the way you completely change the pace and mix in other themes like that is one of the most delightful and impressive things about so much of your work, but that had to be one of the times it's made me the happiest!
Great cover all around, still kept that happy go lucky Mario charm too
Also turn this on during the Bowser X and it'll make it that much more bearable

@@proarmenator774I've played it relatively recently and i have many reasons to say why its one of the least favorites of the series.
The combat just gets long and tedious at certain point and the repetitive battle music doesn't help at all.
Bowser and his baby version are just filler, and not the good one, i can say that was one of the worst Bowser iterations ever.
You have to buy the items instead of using Syrup and stuff, and you get really few chances to make a stop and buy stuff.
The game Drags on and on towards the end and the final boss battle its really damn tedious (idk if i was underleveled or smth but it felt like an eternity)
How in God’s name do you not even have over a million subscribers at this point? You’re passion for all that you’ve done is *unmatched*

I was shocked when I saw that elder princess shroob was the next remix. I'm done with college in two week and he gave a early Christmas present that I will never forget and now he doing back-to-back Mario and Luigi series themes. He is making my Christmas the best one that I ever had. I also like Partners in Time as one of my favorite Mario games ever.
You guys kick so much ass. The song is an absolute banger, and damn did this remix add more badassery.

References aside, Bowser's Inside Story is my all-time favorite Mario RPG and this represents playing as Bowser to a T! My negative feelings of the 3DS Port aside, this remix is amazing and you always excel with Bowser themes in particular! Bowser's Rage from Paper Mario, Final Bowser from Super Mario Galaxy, Bowser from TTYD, and now this!

I have to admit, I got a bit nostalgic listening to this. I listened to the Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story soundtrack a lot during the early 2010’s, and the boss theme was one of my favorites from it!
I was a stupid kid when I played this game and never got too far despite enjoying it. Always loved the music. Great job with this remix!

I just got into Bowser’s Inside Story a couple of weeks ago despite owning it for years. I couldn’t play it well when I was little, but now that I know how to blow into the mic, I adore this game more than I did when I was 8. The music went way harder than I remembered.
