FINALLY! Someone who actually loves this work. He didn't get enough credit for how great this EP is. Not sure why people didn't embrace it like it deserved. Even now after a couple/few years, I still get goosebumps ( Call Out My Name and I Was Never There). After the triolgy, this is a following fave.
I love this album,i love every song in this EP.Even i am married but for some reasons these songs directly hits me and my heart,I'm totally into his shoes.I know what the person from the song been though and I just feel soooo strong,too strong I can't even describe it

This project was beautiful. I love that he’s going back to his old Trilogy type roots. However, he sounded kind of depressed (which in my opinion is when he makes his best music). This side of Abel is great but, I’m concerned about his well-being after all his been through. Also, a lot of people are calling this an album (not sure if it is or if it’s an EP) but, idk kinda more like a mixtape that reminded me of his 50 shades of Grey track.
Mist this project feels like Trilogy fucked Starboy and they produced a child that was this masterpiece

On another front, Abel does sing about different topics. Kissland had a lot about sex and drugs but it focused more on the lust of women. It was more lustful. BBTM was about drugs and sex yes, but mostly having a come out session being that he was changing his style. Starboy, cars, sex and barely any drugs. Trilogy was just an entire album about his experience in those years he was living as a homeless man. This is literally about his pain from a relationship, and how he's moving forward by going backwards.

I think this album actually went way deeper than you are making it seem. He connects to blatant exp from both his past relationships and he opens up about extreme heartbreak and self-harm due to that heart break. And he does it beautifully. it is a relatable album and one that is more than sex and drugs (i really think all of his albums are more than that surface- it is about his destructive journey -his ups and extreme downs -his struggle with addiction and his desire to be wanted but only being able to give his body)
Regarding what you were talking about @9:00, The Weeknd has learned how to turn his voice into a instrument alongside the production. Lana del Rey is a good example of another artist who does it as well. They allow the production to stand out and define the song itself and then they smoothly add their voice into the tracks and lets it flow smoothly like if it was a piano or a violin or another instrument.

R cutting still love Thursday. but i feel like it contained some of his worst songs like life of the party, gone, and not a huge fan of thursday (song). as opposed to HOB and EOS where every song was great. Kiss Land was a great follow up to the mixtapes so i rank it higher than Thursday
