You people have beautiful buildings on your beautiful island
This is lovely, you hear about Cambridge your whole life, even as an American, so it was great to see you guys give us idea of what it is really like! Thank you so much!
Thanks for creating this channel. This stuff is what nerds live for🥂😎
1000 year old anything is FASCINATING!! We don't have anything even close to that old in America (except maybe Indigenous relics/art work), but and actual building??!! I'm in awe!
My first trip to London many years ago there was a smell in the air I couldn't recognize. It wasn't until I put my hand on a stone building as I was posing for a pic that I realized the smell on my hand was the age I was smelling. Nothing in the US is that old so it was unfamiliar and I loved it.!
@@emilyworkman lol just had to let us know you went to Yale, huh? Even when it wasn't an organic response.
What a beautiful setting. I can understand why you were whispering. These buildings inspire such a reverential silence. The history of this university overwhelms my mind. Thanks so much for sharing this visit with us!
The architecture there is absolutely beautiful. You need to go to Oxford too. When you were in the archway and hesitated I was sitting here saying "no, go in you look like you belong there so no one say anything to you ".
Wow!! Great video. Please keep up the great work. Please know that by watching your channels it’s like the best medicine for our current situation in the world.
So quaint. Very nice and quiet. Not a lot of people out and about though. Weather not up to par? Love the history. Imagine all the people who shaped our world that went to this school.
Not sure why to be honest!!
Well, it's nice to catch up with the videos lol, one silver lining of the quarantine!
So beautiful. I've seen some of this streets and building in your Masterpiece Theater, or Masterpiece Mysteries so, so many other great British programs we get there in the States. At 3:00 that building and green has been used many many time in movies. You are so fortunate to live in a country with it's history in its architecture. Took Architectural Art in college and so much of it was from England. You really have it all.
Joel: "Look at them. They look like us, but cleverer" LMAO !!
hahah!
The students be like eye 👁️👄👁️
Memories of 2017 when I was there. I love Cambridge! Just absolutely beautiful!
Oh it's only 1000 years old no biggie. haha Wow! Thanks for sharing the gorgeous walking tour. I kept thinking of the different movies that might have been filmed around there.
After your Punting video, I looked up all of the colleges that make up the university. So much cool and amazing history and tradition there. I can practically smell the old books! And to attend Evensong at King’s College on Ash Wednesday! And what a fun college town! Thanks for the awesome tour, you guys!!
SO much to see! Just a shame not all of them are open to the public!
You don’t know how much this new channel means to me
❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite movies is titled OXFORD BLUES. it stars Rob Lowe and Michael Caine and a load of other actors that I dont recall their names at the moment. It was based on a Las Vegas youth that scammed his way into Oxford to meet a Princess and when it was all said and done he didnt get the princess but he became mates with the sculling crew and learned alot of life lessons. This video reminds me of why I always wanted to go to Great Britain because of that movie and all the architecture and history found there. Thanks so much for the tour and the rekindling of that memory.
Thanks for making this! My brother-in-law graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Doctorate, but I’ve never been able to go visit. You’ve given me a little glimpse into his life. Now I know why my sister and him have never returned to the States. Everything is just so beautiful!
Hearing you say they have never returned makes me sad because I want to live there. I hope I don’t forget about my family but at the same time it’s my dream to live in the UK. I hope someday your family comes to visit you.
I´d be whispering too! Such history and tradition. It´s awe inspiring!
it is isnt it!!
This makes me want to go to Cambridge on a tour one day. It is just what I like to see since we don't have building like those in the US. You're doing great with this channel!!
You absolutely should add it to your list!!
Yes we do.Look up Berry College in Rome, Ga....It's the largest college campus in the world and it's BEAUTIFUL.
I think they mean in terms of “age”, as the college you mention was built in 1902; in the style of an English college. Whereas the colleges and streets in Cambridge (especially in the medieval heart of the city), are generally medieval (before 1485), Tudor (1485-1558) or classical (1600’s-1700’s), as Cambridge University was founded in 1209 by students from Oxford University (founded 1096) - with many churches in each city built between 1000-1150. Of course the US colleges are also very pretty!
Not even at Harvard?
Nice! Your balcony is the primo spot for movie night. You have to try the tandem bike! They are so fun to ride! You won't crash. Snow tomorrow? I would love to be there when it snowed. You have to make a friend with a student so they will take you in...you look like students. Wow, it is really an inspiring place. Some of the details look so much like Hogwarts. This is awesome. Thanks!! 🙌
I like the new channel. I spent a couple of weeks in London last autumn and took the train to Cambridge for the day. Charming place.
Such a cute couple!! Enjoy your vids!! So want to go back to UK and stay for a while!! Loved it and enjoy you showing it to us!
Reminds me of Oxford - We went to visit there this past June with my kids ... My daughter is researching Universities. Beautiful there!
I’m always in awe of the history and age of your buildings! With America being a relatively young country, we don’t have much of that, especially in the Midwest. So beautiful!
One of the things I love most about Great Britain, and Europe in general, is the history, and the Old buildings and Architecture. Thank You for showing us around.
Wow! I missed a lot when I chose to visit Oxford instead of Cambridge. Thanks for the wonderful tour! ❤️❤️
You are so lucky to have been there on a day when it was not crowded with tourists. These kind of winter days are the best! Thanks for the walk-around. Brought back memories.
Love your new channel Joel and Lia. Cambridge is gorgeous. I didn't get to see it when I went to the UK.
Great video!!! It helped me pass the time while I was waiting for AAA to come rescue me because I had locked my keys in the car!!! lol 😝 Did you see the ghost of E M Forster while you were there?!?! He is one of my favorite authors! Well I’m back to work! Can’t wait to see your next adventure on video!
I want to go back to college. 🤓🤓🤓. Private tours are awesome. Exclusivity is the best.
Same tbh!
OMG you two are hilarious, whispering and sneaking around Cambridge! 😆
What a beautiful city. I love having you as my tour guides to England. Stay safe with the coronavirus. ❤❤❤
You two beauties combined with a beautiful location is perfection!
What???!!! A new channel? How did I miss this?!
Thanks for the tour. It was loads of fun watching you two goof off around Cambridge. It did seem Harry Potterish and we'd would love to go. Tyfs.💕🥂
OMG it brings memories! I used to live and work one of the summers 2 years ago in a street just off the brewhouse you've showed!
I love how you guys are whispering during certain parts outside💛
So happy to see this video. My granddaughter will be doing a semester next year with her theater group. Not sure which university. So excited for her. We’re in Boston MA currently. Love you two and your vids.
I loved this video! 👍I can't get enough of seeing all the amazing buildings. My favorite part was when Joel got so excited about the tandem bicycle. 😅 Much love from Jean ❤
Neat! Glad you were able to show us this video. Hope the virus doesn’t prohibit you from doing these tours for awhile. First saw Cambridge in 1970!
Thanks for the tour. I always enjoy going along when you explore beautiful places. Best wishes! Stay well. 🌺💕
YT didn't add me to subscription! Bastards! Now let's see how this works. My Alma Mater! Last time there was a sad visit but you guys did a good job cheering me. Thanks! L&C 👍♥️😘🇬🇧
Cambridge is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us.
I spent a couple of summers at Homerton, which is situated away from most of the colleges. But I loved biking around, it's such a beautiful town.
I love your new channel! The architecture of those buildings is beautiful.
🙋🏾♀️ Joel & Lia. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the tour!
I loved this video! I don't know why you didn't think your American audience from Joel&Lia wouldn't watch, I'm an American here from the J&L channel and I LOVE it! lol
This is my favorite vlog you’ve done! The editing, flow and communication/information was perfect!
Watching your channel is just going to make me want to visit England. I’d better start saving up!
hahaha! OOps!
Thank you for the Tour!! It"s So Beautiful
“This is what a real student looks like” 😂 Love it
Thanks so much for this! I'm an alumni and I miss Cambridge so much!
Beautiful surroundings & beautiful Legends ❤️🌷
COME TO OXFORD! I'd be happy to show you guys around!
Lovely! I’m loving your tours and commentary. You Two Brits are awesome!
Thanks so much!
I was in the area last year for work and I was able to get away and look around Cambridge for a day and it was Amazing! I loved seeing the places again!! Thank you so much for starting this channel, I can't wait to see all you have in store for us!
What a beautiful campus. The architecture was mind blowing. I so love English country side. Thanks J & L!❤️
What a weird coincidence it is that you are showing Cambridge and I just saw a travel show showing the exact same things you guys showed us. 😊
This is beautiful! I have heard of these colleges and I have always wanted to see them so thank you!
Joel and Lia I like the tour of the colleges they are large and the architecture is very interesting and beautiful the gift shop was cool the age of the buildings was amazing, loved the tour of a college town.
Loved sneaking around with you!
First try of your new channel.. this is great! Beautiful buildings and grounds! Loved the metal (?) bird door holders at the chapel. Great job, I love this!
Love the video! Thank you for the tour! I’m almost 42 and I still feel like I’m the age of a student so I can totally relate!
Well done you two! 👍🏻 How beautiful was that? 🇬🇧❤️ I believe you would’ve rocked that tandem bike. Next time, try it!
I loved this. It's what you picture in your mind when you think of the UK. I bet you two would like Williams burg VA historic district. It's only place I can think of that like this but really not even close lol.
Great Launch...looks like your new channel is going to be brilliant. Great idea to branch out. Try to get to GB once a year and plan to be back in August, will watch your new channel for ideas of places to visit. We have been focused on places my grandma talked about and having hit most of those over the years I need new places to checkout. This will be a good start as we have yet to make it to Cambridge. Super job you two! 👏👏
The buildings looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
They do don't they!
@@ThoseTwoBritsUK they do don't they...don't they...they do, don't they...
Reminding me of previous videos!😂😂❤️❤️
Cool💞, loved the old buildings!! Wish you guys would have done more close ups of the stain glass and art. Amazing architecture 😊
So gorgeous! It’s just like a movie!! 😍 You should definitely take the Bentley tour!!! 😱😍
Would love to see Oxford again as well. Thank you!
Amazing!!! Seems like a movie set. Can’t imagine attending school there!
It does doesn't it! SO perfect!
Hi Guys! I'm excited for this new channel and seeing various places around England. I find it all so charming, although I've never been...yet. I was wondering, if it's possible, would you share what the accent is like when you go to a new place? I don't know how often accents change throughout England, but I thought that would be fun. And maybe a brief synopsis of the history of place, what its known for? Just some thoughts. I'm off to catch up on your Cambridge visits. 💗
i have an NASB Pitt Minion Goatskin leather bible from Cambridge with the Cambridge University crest on the inside pages.
Hi Joel & Lia, I appreciate seeing " ALL" the Stunning Architecture! Wow! Beautiful ♥️ I love this " New" Channel ♥️ Blessings from a long time Viewer/Sub of "ALL" your Channels in Oklahoma,
Piper
Thanks for creating this channel. This stuff is what nerds live for🥂😎
Amazing!!! Seems like a movie set. Can’t imagine attending school there!
I did enjoy that! I wish you could have gotten access to the inside of buildings that are thousands of years old!!
In love with how Joel pronounces "law"!
thanks,,,,a trip to UK is still in the back of my mind and like getting ideas like this video
Glad we could help!
Omg I went to Cambridge summer school 1974!! I’m sure it’s nothing now like it was then...I was @ Kings College..my dorm was behind the chapel. Loved ur tour but wished I could hv seen Kings College.🙁
This channel has a wonderful vibe. It’s fun to go on these little field trips. Totally different than chatting in a room, yet this is somehow more relaxing? Must be the music =)
This is making me so excited🥰🥰🥰going to be visiting Kings College in Cambridge this week.
I love this. Thanks for creating this channel. It is so fun.
I think that often. I wish I would've applied myself more in school all those years ago.
Yeah if only we could turn back time!
Hi Kimberly! Thanks for your message after Joel did a shout out to me during the live chat today. It made my YEAR what he said. 😊🥀🌻🌴
@@gentlespiritjw4904well you are a beautiful soul dear Jean & deserve all the accolades.😘❤️
Enjoy the rest of your week; stay safe! Hugs to you through the miles.😊❤️🌷
@@kimberlyk2295 Thank you so much!! Hugs coming right back atcha! 😘🤗🌴❤
Loved the video. Just go really slowly on the scans, I got so dizzy I almost fell off my treadmill.😂
That was lovely! I don't think the Cambridge in Massachusetts is as nice but it seems they got the name from the UK. As I watch videos that you both do and talk about towns/cities many are the same as in New England which I never really thought about before. Makes sense since so many people came here from there right? There are places in Boston and Salem Mass. that have the narrow cobblestone streets and brownstone homes. So nice. I think if you ever get the chance to come to New England book a few days in different areas to see and maybe compare to where you are. Of course they won't have as much history since it started after the discovery of the US, but to see what influences came over and maybe was preserved? I do love these videos. I don't know if I will ever be able to go to the UK, so this will have to suffice in case I can't. Thanks for sharing!! xx
You two are so adorbs!
King’s College was gorgeous! I’m going to google all the Colleges to get more info lol I just love getting to see everything
Wonderful tour
OMG! I totally want to see footage of you guys on the bike!!!!!
My best friend actually lives in Cambridge! She's an American that's married to an air force officer! I was there visiting her last May!
Wonderful job you two 👏
Can you include the month you are visiting places and the weather/temperature you are experiencing?
🇺🇸♡🇬🇧
They did mention this was filmed on Ash Wednesday, but you raise a good point. The day it's posted could be a month or more from when they were there.
That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you much for this video and visit to Cambridge. By the way you’re never too old to be a student.
Love these buildings!!!🥰
It's so beautiful! I used to want to go to Cambridge University, but my mum sort of made me drop that dream + the obvious issue of it not exactly being affordable... Looking at the situation right now, maybe it was for the better, but hell would it be magical to spend at least a semester there..
Enjoyed the tour, the buildings are beautiful. I got a kick out of you trying to maintain hushed tones. Wish it ended up with you two being driven away in the Bentley. ;)
Wow! Very beautiful!! You're never to old to return to college. I returned at age 47.
Cambridge looks beautiful Thanks for showing us around Joel and Lia!!!
You and Lia have such wonderful adventures! Can't wait for more of Those 2 Brits!!!
Thanks so much Todd!
What I meant to say is it would have been interesting to hear what the different COLLEGES in Cambridge University specialized in! Loved seeing all the buildings!
