I always saw girafarig and stantler as counterparts so seeing both of them getting an evolution is cool

Yknow what? Thanks to you I have gotten a much better look and feel fro Farigiraf, and honestly its growing on me much more than I thought. I thought it was ok at first, but now I'm liking it more and more. I'm not usually one to say that new pre-released Pokemon for the promos will immeditely go on my team, but I might just for sure have to go with Farigiraf. Might even draw some as well because the combined unity of the heads does look both cute and fierce~

The ability Queenly Majesty also prevents priority moves as well and is one of Tsareenas abilities
Love to see a fellow girafarig stan…Honestly Farigiraf looks so awesome and I love how creative it is having the heads combine. With this and the Ursaluna video it’s so satisfying seeing someone else love those Pokémon as much as I do!
Recently I was reading about Girafarig's lost pre evolution, so it was on my mind.
I never had the opportunity to use it, so it makes me extra excited.
To get ya more hyped think how monstrous the eating two berries can be in the meta? You could get your spa raised by 2 stages for free just by taking damage
This is a huge step in the right direction, makes me more eager to see Wooper’s and possibly my boy Funsparce’s new evolution

I'm elated that Girafarig is finally getting an evolution - hopefully Farigiraf has decent (competitive worthy) stats. Love the Armor Tail ability too, could be extremely useful!

it’s not taking over the metagame like certain other new mons, but as a bulky Psychic-type that can stop priority moves, it’s got steady employment as an excellent Trick Room setter - and being immune to Annihilape’s Rage Fist and Gholdengo’s Shadow Ball is a nice bonus.
Another person who shares the same love for Girafarig that I do! Its in my number one spot being my all time favorite! Farigiraf is amazing I loved hearing you talk about my little 2-headed bois!

I was already gonna use a Girafarig for a mono-Normal Alpha Sapphire run I'm doing, but now I might just have to use it twice in a row cause I *love* this thing! :D
Farigiraf is pretty freaking clever. Not only is it a combination of its two halves but it's also a nod to Spain being the place where the giraffe's ancestor was discovered, also where the pressurized space suit was invented which lends to it being on a higher altitude.
Girafarig is one of my favourite pokemon. I'm glad it got an evolution. I love that the second head looks like a hoodie 😊
It’s a missed opportunity that Farigiraf isn’t Psychic/Normal to be a type palindrome of Girafarig’s Normal/Psychic type.

I've used a Girafarig before, especially in the Gen II Remakes. Caught it to smash Morty's gym to the ground and even brought it to the league.
Glad to see it getting some love.
I'm just imagining girafarif tail start taking and they have this classy accent and girafarif head works like his tongue.
I’m just glad that regular evolutions are back after such a long wait, we haven’t had any since Gen 4. Gen 8 did finally give some Pokémon like Farfetch'd, Corsola and Linoone evolutions but only for their regional forms. Pokémon Legends began to slowly reintroduce it with the likes of Wyrdeer and Ursaluna but even then it was unclear if we’d ever see them again cause these games took place in the past. Farigiraf is the first one that doesn’t evolve from a regional variant and takes place in present day Pokémon time

Yeah, I'm still keeping things open on my playthrough team for whatever I run into, but I really kind of want to make sure I get a Girafarig when I can and then evolve it.
As someone who has liked Girafarig since Gen 2 came out, I am beyond excited for this new evolution.
I really like is new evo and definitely gonna use it, but part of my brain still see Girafarig as a full evolved, is design just always feel complete.
I find this pokemon absolutely adorable, but st the same time I honestly can't stop thinking of it as a giraffe wearing a chain chomp hoodie. Absolutely amazing

Pokémon merch is probably going to be super expensive this time around, the terrastilize mechanic is likely going to result in jewelry. I hope GF didn’t do that on purpose because that’s disgustingly greedy.

It has two sets of antennae but only one is connected to the interior head (and retract when the mouth closes) and I can't help but love that idea even if it makes no sense.

Twinz into Girafarig still might have been a little cooler. Missed potential to give it the Dark Psychic type
It’s not a the sole prevolution GF made, the second one was a mini Girafarig with a spooky one eyed tail. Want to see more of it so bad cus we have nothing more than a backsprite. Because that wasn’t weird enough, the prevolution of the two headed giraffe (Twinz) went on to inspire Wobuffet.
One of the core aspects of Pokémon to me has always been evolution, as such I've never really been drawn to ones that don't evolve. So, while I've liked Girafarig's vibe and design concept I don't think I've ever had one on my team or given it a fair shot, really. Which makes me all the more happy now because I get to change that!
Side bonus of naming: Girafarigirafarigirafarigiraf... *repeat ad nauseum*.
if Farigiraf had been a Dark/Psychic type, this would easily have been one of my favourites, but as of now, its only in my like top 50 or so
There's like over 1000 pokemon at this point, so top 50 is still pretty high.
im excited and hopeful to see more cross-gen evos. the last one we got that wasn't tied to a regional form was sylveon, and even then, that was just ONE pokemon in gen 6, and gen 4 before it was the last time it had happened. Regional forms are cool, and they shouldn't stop doing them, but there's something lost when they never do just a good old fashion evolution. hopefully we'll get a few more (chatot evo plz im begging)
Honestly as the one person who has normal as their favourite type I can't wait to use it in a normal only playthrough and plus I just love the design and girafarig in general cause of a normal only brilliant diamond playthrough
I really like normal types too ( I played a lot times with normal types only ) and this regions has some cool normal types, I already see me with this smart giraffe and creepy aiai that don't wash hands

Normal types are awesome. Like I can only think of a couple I dislike they're all tanky dopes
I'm so excited about Girafarig evolving. It never ever gets to be part of my playthroughs useless I specifically hold off on getting a psychic type till the lake of rage. I hope it accessible reasonably early so it can be a party member for a long time :)
I’m so fucking excited. Girafarig is tied for my favorite pokemon and I’ve been crossing my fingers for it to get SOME kind of help for the longest time. The size also looks so fantastic in that tera raid.
I won’t actually be able to play Scarlet or Violet but when the pokemon make it to romhacks I’m 100% using this thing on all my teams 😭
I had a Girafarig in a Soul Silver Nuzlocke I’m doing named Ava and she was the MVP of the run for the longest time before she unfortunately died to an explosion during the radio tower takeover. Knowing that, once I’m done with the Nuzlocke and Home compatibility becomes available, I can transfer her up and evolve her fills me with joy, like seeing an old friend again, cuz ya know she’s technically dead right now. I’m hesitant to actually use one on my team the first time round though since I try not to repeat type combos between my first play through teams in each game (at least not consecutively) and I just used Wyrdeer in Legends and I’m already planning to use Ceruledge despite also using Hisuian Typhlosion in Legends.
i'm not even a big fan of girafarig, but oh man do i love his evolution! i first thought it was a girafarig regional varient, and while i have nothing against that in principle, they started to create regional varient of one stage pokémon and then only this version could evolve, leaving the original varient still alone. But here it's not the case! it's a good old evolution for an almost forgotten pokémon. And Farigiraf looks great on top of that. now it looks like an actual giraffe, the color schemes are great, it's also a good continuation of girafarig's concept, like, what's there to no like?
I like that it gets Armor Tail! It looks like it could be a Dark type to me and Dark Types are immune to priority moves so it kinda is a Dark Type in practice 😂

One of the biggest things I hope they do for the *b e e g* giraffe is for it to be spelled “farigiraF”. I think it would be awesome!
Also, a little tibbit: in the fan game Pokémon Insurgence, there is a Delta Steel/Poison(?) type Girafarig. And both Normal AND Delta have megas! And while it’s mainly the tail getting bigger, the mega stones DO spell it as “Etigirafarigite”!
I love them. I always liked girafarig’s design but I never used them due to the lack evolution/wasn’t too strong. But I love the alien theme farigiraf has and that mouth when closed and green eyes is just great.
I just remember the trainer Ash fought at the start of the third pokemon movie using Girafarig and how surprised she'd be if it evolved.

I caught a shiny Girafarig in Pokémon GO so it getting an evolution makes it all the sweeter when the Scarlet and Violet Pokémon are added eventually.
This one of the most unique designs yet, reminds me of older designs and i love it. We’re finally gonna have a mix of monsters and animals rather than just a copypaste animal

Giraffes have always been my favorite animal, Girafarig has always been one of my favorite Pokémon, and I am BEYOND excited that Farigiraf now exists!!!
I've been waiting for Girafarig to evolve for a few years. I definitely know what to Nickname this thing. If it's a boy, I'm naming Geoffrey the giraffe from the Toys R Us mascot (he kinda looks like him too).

Not only that, but now Girafarig gets out of Untiered limbo and becomes great thanks to the Eviolite.
There’s just something about how girafarig evolving into a thing where it has one of its heads lodged into its other head’s esophagus that makes me really hate this thing.
Just imagining the saliva and mucus from the outer head sticking to the outside of the inner head grosses me out, and it’s something I can’t unsee, and now neither can you. Good luck sleeping with that in mind.
Now if Dunsparce got one next, I could finally die happy.
I kind of thought Girafarig vas cool and neat but i dismised it since it didn't stand out compared to my favorites at the time, i was vagualy aware of Farigiraf but had only seen it once but not to many days ago i got to see Farigiraf for real for basicly the first time (i don't play Scarlet or Violet), i analised it (design not stats) and imediatly fell in love, i thought it would be kind of weak since most of my favorits are, turned out that Farigiraf is so strong that if i did't already have a psycic (and benched psycic) it would go on my team (3rd place psycic favorit), as for it being Normal type, i'm not looking for a Normal on my team, i did use Lopuny for the Fighting Mega but except that i'm just not looking for a normal type.
I do like that Farigiraf gives me bedroom inviting eyes

While Dark/Psychic would be more interesting, its actually debatably a worse type combo than Normal/Psychic is so it might of been a downgrade.

Personally was never a huge fan of girafarig, still not really, however I personally feel that Farigiraf is a super creative evolution, and that’s super creative. Honestly designs like this are giving me hope for the rest of the Pokémon roster in SV
I won't lie, I never cared for Girafarig, but I can't lie seeing it finally get some love in the form of a new evolution makes me happy, plus it gives me hope that perhaps another gen 2 oddball normal type will also get some much needed love
Armor tail's name sounds like it would boost tail moves like iron tail, poison tail or dragon tail like iron fist to fist moves...

3:14 Although Dark/Psychic would be cool thematically, I'm playing with an Inkay in a Shield playthrough now, and not having _resistances_ is not fun. At least Normal/Psychic resists Psychic while keeping an immunity and isn't doubly weak...
...(Pokémon are not "4x weak" as a tangent: We don't say Fire is 2x weak to Water. It's just weak to Water moves and takes _twice_ as much damage. Magcargo isn't 4x weak to Water moves. It's twice as weak to Water moves and takes 4x as much damage)...
...to a type like Dark/Psychic is to Bug moves.
The stat spread of Malamar doesn't do it any favors though either, and Malamar might be a bit better off if it wasn't so average at everything.
But I'm gonna guess Farigiraf is gonna lose its Speed, only get a mild buff to HP, and get modest boosts to both of its defensive and offensive stats based on its design and the entry saying how smart its become. So maybe Cud Chew synergizes well with high defensive stats and gives it an opportunity to restore a lot of health then hitting back hard.
