Yes, but she had a little bit of a hard time. Mainly, she would stall out when coming to a stop. There could always be the issue of not having breaks, so keep all that in mind when test driving before a tune.
@@Jay100kRed We took it to a shop in Vegas called TrevTec. My truck was too long to fit on his Dyno, but he did a drivability tune and adjusted the fuel trims and timing.
In my opinion, she drives just as good as ever, but better. I have a stock converter, still with 33x12.50R20’s (108 lbs each wheel). I have to say she drives much better with stocks that weigh 65 lbs each wheel, then the 33's. I have 0-60 times in my drivability video with both stocks and not, only issue was it was slightly raining. Only issues I've had were right before my tune, she was still trying to figure out what we did with her, and when coming to a stop she would stall out. After the tune, absolutely no problems. She was tuned with slightly higher rpms, so she wouldn't stall out. Nothing crazy. I can still drive her at 80mph under 3,000 rpm (unless going uphill, of course).
You're welcome! I'm glad my video was helpful! In my drivability, I'm going to be added two clips without me talking. One just a normal drive around city (0-55mph), and then a merging/expressway clip (55-80 ish mph). I'm hoping it will turn out good, but that's to show since I have my exhaust the length of my cab and not full length anymore (any possible drone, etc.).
I wish I could post photos to show the AFM on the old vs a deleted valley cover, but no you can't even use the old valley cover. BTR sent me a new one specifically for the DOD delete kit, and we just switched the old with the new. We had everything plugged in and hooked up, when we first started her.
@@JuliaM987 I have orderd the same kit I have the new valley cover installed but the new cover only has the plug for oil pressure sensor . If you recall when you took the factory valley cover off there was a plug that went to all the afm stuff on the old valley cover right next to oil pressure sensor
We are stationed here, sadly. I love my cam! I love listening to her chop at lights and while driving/coasting very slow. If you can, I would recommend the Truck Norris and a nice tune!
Thank you! And nope! We are stationed 2k miles away from home, but wherever the military takes us, I keep my truck in Indiana so she has cheap tags, the American Flag plate, and it's just easier.
If any, only before the tune. She was rough to drive and wasn't driven too much without the tune, but would stall when coming to a stop. After the tune, no problems at all with brakes or stopping!
Honestly, your 5.3 should do just as good if not better. I had around 250k when we did the actual DOD delete. Plus if you have the 6 speed since it's a 2010, then yours should be a smidge faster than my truck with the 4L60E.
Looking to do the exact same thing to my 07 suburban once it is out of the trans shop. How did you manage the after install driving before the tune. I noticed a couple hard starts and stalls is that about what it will do before a tune? Was it drivable enough to get it to the shop for a tune?
My truck was rough but still drivable. My husband drove her to work for a whole day (18 miles or so each way in Vegas traffic), and I drove her to the tuners. The worst part was her stalling when I came to a stop. For the most part, my truck sat until we drove her to get tuned. I want to say your suburban will be similar. I hope the install and tune goes great for you!
We do have a Diablo Sport Trinity tuner, but we took it to a shop in Vegas called TrevTec. My truck was too long to fit on his Dyno, but he did a drivability tune and adjusted the fuel trims and timing.
The Truck Norris Cam is the biggest cam I can run on my stock converter. There is a slight possibility that many years from now, we might switch it from stock to something else. But for right now, I'm cruising with my stock one.
The resonator and rest of exhaust length was from a stock 2007 Tahoe that was in a junk yard. I hope this video has enough different clips that help determine if any of my setups is right for you! Thanks for watching!
No, my frame isn't bad at all. It's the protective coating that is surface rusted and flakes off. It does look like a crack, but it's just the angle during filming. Last month when we took off my bed to go get a rust free one, my husband and I both ran over the frame double checking for anything at all since we didn't have a bed in the way.
I'm running the truck Norris in my 5.3 I'm loving it machined heads bored 40 over 5.3 long tube headers I will be putting the 4.10 gears in the rear end on my 05 chevy avalanche

Man it still sounds sick before the tune and the headers. That cam is great but yes I will admit the end result sounds the best.
Thank you so much!
Could you still drive it before u got it tuned
Yes, but she had a little bit of a hard time. Mainly, she would stall out when coming to a stop. There could always be the issue of not having breaks, so keep all that in mind when test driving before a tune.

What transmission is in this? 4l60? Also what's the rear gears? Any driveability videos
Yes, I still have just a 4L60E with 3.73. I'm currently working on a drivability video. I'm hoping to post it here in a week or two max.

Yes, they should be enough.

Yes, I still have my stock trans, stock converter, and stock 3.73’s with 33” tires. It performs great, in my opinion.

How much was the Diablo tuner
It was around $600 in 2019 when I bought it originally for my husband. It should be the Trinity 2, I do believe.
