As far as Shay's betrayal goes, I was far more affected by him killing Adewale than Charles Dorian. Mostly because I'd spent a fair chunk of Black Flag getting to know and like Ade, but Charles was just part of Arno's background. Charles's death might have been more significant looking at a broader perspective, but Adewale's cut deeper because I knew him far better.

On the other hand, he did single handedly destroy the Brotherhood in America to the point of extinction which led to the Templars growth in the country. Thank God that classic Assassin's Creed is back with Mirage. My biggest problem with the new games isn't the rpg elements, it's the weak stealth and parkour mechanics and the fact your not playing as an actual member of the brotherhood.

Having Cleopatra and Caesar betray us always felt like a missed opportunity to me. Not the betrayal itself, but the story not going for it as our motive. It really felt believable that Bayak would feel betrayed by Caesar pardoning the guy who murdered his son, and turns on the two of them for a very personal reason. But apparently the game wanted him to remain a pure heroic character and instead try to act like Cleopatra betrayed Egypt by being corrupted by Flavius.

Shay was a true believer of freedom, but accepted Templar rule because he valued human life more than freedom in the end.
He ends up killing them because they did not accept that the Isu temples are to dangerous to meddle with. Achillies even blames Shay when he returns with that horrific experiences.
Even Achillies realises this in the end and it's the main reason he accepts being locked away and forgotten in the homestead. Achillies could have tried to rebuild the order by sending letters to other parts of the world, like France etc and they would have sent help.

I’ll admit it’s not the ac games that I grew up with not enough assassinations and the stealth can be a bit wack at times but the game it’s self is pretty good if you pulled the Assassins Creed name off it. @@DarthDragon007 Why? The characters aren't assassins, how are they supposed to know about stealth? Origins has stealth elements, but that's logical because Bayek is actually the founder of what would become the Assassins later on. It's a story-wise choice the game designers made when creating AC Odyssey and Valhalla, neither Kassandra/Alexios nor Eivor ever really learn the Assassins' ways (and in Odyssey's case, the characters even exist hundreds of years BEFORE the Assassins), so how could they even use them? It's actually better than having them act like Assassins when they've never learnt about the Assassins to begin with - ie, unlike Edward on Black Flag, where you spend the whole game doing Assassins missions even tho your character is a pirate and not an Assassin, he just wears the clothes as a costume, yknow? Which is something I found so illogical, it was actually annoying me the whole way, how LATE Edward even meets the Assasins, like fr.
Just because these two games derived from the Assassins to delve into another part of the AC lore, doesn't mean they aren't AC games. There's still plenty of Assassin's-driven AC games, and Mirage will go back to focusing on the Assassins (as will all the games they've teased this year).

the newer ones are not ment to be like the older ones they are telling the story from before the time of the assassins we know from the older games this is seen in the way they are not even called the Assassins or templars but other names this former conflict evolves over time into the later groups of Assassins and templars as those older groups are defeated and rebuilt fro the ground up this led to them and their ideals changing over time

Ikr, people being like "the new games don't feel like they're about Assassins, except Origins!" huh, well, because they're not. Both Valhalla and Odyssey focus more on the Isu lore, it's really not that hard to see when playing the games. And you really can't argue that the Isu isn't part of "the AC lore" because it sure is.

And that's really not me defending the games now or Ubisoft's choices, it's just that this was presented as a video about the story itself, not some whiny ass "analysis" of how meanie Ubisoft ruined their own franchise for "the fans". Seriously, stop being so bitter about the games evolving, the early games still exist for everyone to enjoy!
