    Beautiful little moment at 15:28 where Alice starts to climb and immediately starts smiling. I'm sure most people watching this can appreciate it.

    One of the best video about climbing gear I have ever seen. Great explanation, really good camera shots, massive portion of knowledge. It's just complete, perfect. I hope for more episodes also about more advanced techniques - like self rescue or glacier travel.

    For sure, DMM has one of the most beautiful pieces of gear on the market. Love it)

      Its very colorful. My gear is mostly uncoloured and boring, frankly😅.

    Brilliant video, As someone who is looking at starting rock climbing, the amount of detail regarding kit is spot on. Was a nice finish too which I believe is southstack Lighthouse? A place I've been before and would love to go back and climb ❤.

    Hey there, what do you people think about placing a wallnut horizontal. Like if there’s a hole that gets thinner form inside to outside and I place the nut horizontal. I had a discussion about that and we didn’t find any information about that.

      that's the kind of thing you probably want to use a hex or tricam for.

    Is that route at 15 min Holyhead mountain, Ramp E, Plimsole (D) please?

    I have Torque Nuts. They are good but as shown here the slings don't feed great when extending. But not much of an issue, just be a good thing for DMM to look into.

    Always use an extended sling for a Camelot to prevent it from walking loose in the crack!!!

    There's just one minor problem: one would never use all the gear from a single company. The manufacturers compete to each other, but the climbers know the difference . By example, I use DMM nuts, Wild Country Friends and Metolius Mastercams, and various brands for krabs, slings, harnesses and ropes.

      Actually you might use all the gear from a single company to begin with. I did and then added some extra gear from other companies later where needed.I liked the fact that DMM are a British company and the gear is great too. Especially for British climbing, DMM have gear very suitable across their whole range.

      You do realise that the purpose of this video is to sell DMM's trad gear? Why would they use other brands products in their own promotional video.
      The consumer can do their own research and decide what brand they would like to purchase. Most people including myself will end up with a few favoured brands depending on the piece of equipment.

    • @jenyates3033
      @jenyates3033 2 года назад +6

      'one would never'
      Isn't that too general statement? Of course it's possible to climb using only the gear from one company, and if starting out you could do a LOT worse than equipping yourself with a 100% DMM based rack and then getting out and using it.
      Time on the rock!

      im using gear from black diamond only. z4, c4, quickdraws, alpines quickdraws, nuts, hexes, etc. harness even and helmet. Just not the rope.
