I'm 43 and I am getting my first BMX in a couple of days. My 5yr old boy is getting one too. These videos are such a pleasure for me to watch. Thank you Brant!
Just about to turn 36, haven't ridden a bike in over 20 years but these videos are giving me added motivation to just get out there and do it! Thanks dude!
Your videos are fantastic. You have a great teaching vibe! I'm already trying things that I never dared to 30 years ago. Wasn't sure if I would want to try a park, but this tutorial and your recent vids have completely changed my mind!
Hell yes man! Comments like this are what fuel the fire to keep it coming! Thank you for the kind words as well. Psyched to hear you’re out there shredding and having fun
I like how you explained everything in detail. I think you would be a great BMX teacher. You know how to teach without confusion. The one thing that you said at first I wasn't sure about was when you said "Keep your pedals flat." I knew what you meant afterwards. I dont know if it's a California, or Left Coast...I mean West coast thing, but I say Keep your cranks level. No disrespect meant. You did a Grrrrreat Job of teaching how to drop in. We just have different ways of saying that. 😉🤘🏻👍🏻 Do you have a video on "How to Manual"? In my 500 years of riding that was one thing that I had issues with. I could go a couple feet or more, but I could never manual around a damn pool, or half a Skate Park like some of these guys do. Yesterday I watched an Odyssey BMX Video that had about 5, or 6 different riders, and this one in particular Amazed the F outta me. The last minute, or two of the video this young lad like yourself was hopping up on these long cement sitting areas at what looked like a college, and Nose/Front Manualing across them. Then do a 180° into another 180° then hop up on the next one landing on another Nose/Front Manual, and he just kept doing it over, and over. It was insane to watch. I had never seen anybody have that much control balancing on a Nose Manual. You probably know the video. If not I will look for it, and put the Link on here. You young whippersnappers amaze me at times, and then make me laugh when I see guys like Scotty Cranmer do a couple videos of 101 Best 80s Tricks, and then see Big Boy, and Trey Jones look, and sound Totally Confused on How To do them. They kept saying that us 80s riders were great, and they were amazed on how we could do those tricks back in the day. Don't worry guys, because I feel the same way about some of the tricks you guys do these days. I'm just not young, and able to try them like you guys can 80s tricks. 👍🏻😁🤘🏻 Damn it!! I wrote another book again. I apologize Bruthaman. It won't happen again...Until the next time. 😉
@Brant_Moore btw...i just found out that u were the guy who drew that scotty cranmer potrait...great job man...props to u homie!! #standwithscotty #ridewithscotty
Hola qué tal ...y muchas gracias por tus enseñanzas en lo que es el BMX...como bajar y salir de una rampa y de los diferentes tamos de colon que hay....gracias y saludos desde Perú o👍👍
im with everyone on that "air a quarter" video. I find you to be very articulate in all of your uploads, thats lacking in a lot of these "how to" videos I watch.
Also, thank you! I really try to explain things in the absolute best way so that anyone and everyone can understand. It's good to hear that its translating
If all you have to work with is flat ground, you can try bunny hop one footers, or footjam whips. Depending upon how confident you are in hopping, you could start trying to 180. Another thing is practicing bunny hopping higher and higher
Not when you’re hopping in to drop in. But just rolling in it definitely can. Your tire can slip out on the coping if you go at an angle. Flying out like a box jump isn’t changed too much with coping. Airing out with coping helps make it easier to air than on ramps without coping
Ah man that’s a bummer. I would say on a steeper ramp you definitely don’t want to roll straight in. It’s still a very similar process but you just have to be more conscious of what you’re doing because the bike can get away from you a little easier
Problem is all transitions and copings are different which changes the rules. If you move up to a 6ft ramp that has a steeper transition at the beginning you cant go in at an angle or your tire will slide and over the handlebars you will go.
You definitely want to make sure you're comfortable jumping into it. Most 8 foot quarters and bigger could never be dropped straight into just rolling.
@@Brant_Moore There are no other places near my home that I can practice, it's the only one and it'd be my first try (dropping in). It looks like 8-10 feet and is made for mountain bikes... the surface is rough concrete, not smooth like those bowls. So if I fell it would hurt badly. Should I apply the brakes to make it slower? Not the front brake I guess...? I'm also just riding a not quite standard folding mountain bike with soft front and tail 😆
Here’s why you should wear a helmet in your videos: 1. You’re teaching beginners the right thing 2. Style points (sorry you’d look better in a helmet than with this.. thing.. whatever you’re telling yourself it is) 🤗
Love the video, and don't car what choice you make, but being that you will now have heavy influence on kids, you should wear a helmet. Your not wearing a helmet will influence kids with no experience to go try to learn and practice the tricks/skills that you are teaching without helmets. Just food for thought.

Always happy to help!! Let me know how it goes man!

Amazing vid I started bmx-ing and a few months ago this really helped 👍🏻
Legend, many thanks!
Thanks this is good stuff.
Sick frame!

Ill try to get on in before this tuesday for you all!

This is a no hate question but wtf kinda frame and bars are those
They are from Nowear BMX
nice thx man
You got it! Hopefully it helps enough to earn your subscription!
Any other tips you'd be interested in?
Nice video man 😎
Thank you! Hopefully it helps you out man!
Another great how to video. Keep them coming! Can't wait to go try this!
In my city, the coping of the quarter its too big, like, its out of the ramp, what should i do to my cranks dont hit the coping and break?
Wooooo! Welcome aboard and thank you!
Nice video!! Good job.
Thank you!!
Good enough of a job to earn your subscription? :)
What happened to that frame and why did you get it
Do you have a how to flyout video?
No but it’s somewhat simple. You just go at the ramp with speed and keep your pedals flat as you go up the ramp
Oh sorry, I meant to say how to 180 flyout.
Oh sorry, I meant to say how to 180 flyout.
No, I don't have that one yet. Ill put it on the list for the future!

@Brant_Moore lol thought I was subscribed already.
Please show how to drop in to bowl
It’s the same thing but most bowls are pretty big so you’ll want to make sure you can do the hop in method from this video
Does coping change the difficulty of dropping in and flying out?
Not when you’re hopping in to drop in. But just rolling in it definitely can. Your tire can slip out on the coping if you go at an angle.
Flying out like a box jump isn’t changed too much with coping. Airing out with coping helps make it easier to air than on ramps without coping
You can definitely do it, you just have to keep those things in mind when doing it
You know most skate parks don’t allow bmx so the smallest bowl I can find it’s like a 4 or 5 ft it’s so scary it is steeper ): can you give me a tip?
Ah man that’s a bummer.
I would say on a steeper ramp you definitely don’t want to roll straight in. It’s still a very similar process but you just have to be more conscious of what you’re doing because the bike can get away from you a little easier
HS Jax just go at an angle thats what i do lmao
What kind of handle bars do you have
They’re Nowear BMX Street Treats
Your bike tho wtf
Pretty sick, I know
Yes. What is it dude?

@@Brant_Moore haha I wish
are there any precautions when you drop in to a really deep one, like > 8 feet ?
You definitely want to make sure you're comfortable jumping into it. Most 8 foot quarters and bigger could never be dropped straight into just rolling.
