    I have the same machine by KBS that I purchased about a month ago. I made a Garlic Parmesan Cheese Bread last weekend following another RUclipsr's recipe but mine didn't come out good. It came out extremely soft and broke apart. The RUclipsr had the same KBS machine and said to turn the machine onto "basic bread setting". As far as I know there is no basic bread setting so I set it to Soft Bread setting. Hoping to try your recipes out and maybe I will have better luck. Thanks.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  Год назад +3

      If it was too soft it could be the flour. High gluten flour works good or bread flour. All purpose will be kind of crumbly and not ride too good. I hope the recipe I demonstrate works for you.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead

      What kind of flour did you use? Bread flour works best. Sometimes regular ap flour won’t have enough protein to form the gluten needed. Also is your yeast good? You can test your yeast by putting some in warm water with a little sugar. It should get foamy. Also did your dough form a ball when it was kneading? Different flours absorb different amounts of water.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  4 месяца назад

      The 1.5 lb will bake 5 minutes longer than the 1 lb and 5 minutes less than the 2 lb. I would choose the lb size based on several different factors flour,hydration, and sugar content. It’s really not about weight at all at least not in the bread machine.

      It could mean there was too much liquid or too much yeast it also could be the type of flour you used did you use bread flour or all purpose flour ?sounds like something caused the dough not to be strong enough to hold how much it rose did rise really high or a normal amount? When mine has done that it’s usually because I added too much yeast or too much liquid.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  Год назад +4

      I usually let my bread cool until it is cool to the touch not necessarily cold but cool and yes you can use dry milk or whole milk if you use whole liquid milk decrease the amount of water by the amount of liquid milk you put in. That will keep the liquid to dry ingredients ratio in balance.

    I've been making bread the traditional way for over 20 years I am new to the bread machine world my first attempt was one of the recipes in the KBS cookbook which failed found your recipe made it exact except for I used regular table salt and whole milk instead of the water And powdered milk in your video you said active dry yeast 2 1/2 teaspoons I think this is too much and caused my bread to rise extremely high and collapse on itself pouring over the edge of the bread pan and then burning I believe that the ratio of regular active dry yeast is probably much less Than the recommendation of the SAF yeast or bread machine yeast also my bread on the light setting did not look nearly as golden as yours and I have the same machine but in the color black

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  11 месяцев назад +3

      I I have noticed that yeast measurements vary from recipe to recipe in some of the videos I have watched I’m not sure why but you can definitely use whatever amount works for you. altitude may have something to do with it. the light medium and dark settings definitely vary from machine to machine I have found through the years. I hope you try it again with less yeast and darker setting and get better results. The bread rising to high and then caving in is definitely a sign of too much yeast it could be the strength of the yeast too perhaps mine is a little older and not as strong.

    Hmmm. First time Bread machine user here. I followed this recipe except I had only 1 cup of bread flour so I made the second 2 cups AP flour. It was very wet and didn’t form a ball. I added more flour but once I got 4 tablespoons in I decided to quit and just cross my fingers. We shall see. I wonder if in fact you can’t use the same recipe with AP.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  11 месяцев назад +2

      you will still get a loaf of bread but AP flour doesn't give as much of a rise because it has less protein. if the bread formed a ball after you added the 4 tablespoons you should be fine, if it was still very wet the loaf may be a little flat. The thing is less protein in the flour the less water it will absorb, so if you use AP you need to decrease the amount of water. You an use the same recipe with AP with the exception of the water amount. You can still expect a little less rise though.
      I would love to know how your bread turns out.

    Why am I getting big holes in my bread and sunk top

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  4 месяца назад +1

      Big holes are usually from over active yeast. I have found that some yeast is stronger and more active than others so sometimes I get yeast that I have to use a little more of other times I have yeast that I have to use a little less of so if it were me, I would try using a little less yeast for example, if you’re using 2 1/4 teaspoons, then try just 2 teaspoons and see if that helps that will also help with the sinking.

    New here. Subscribe! Mine makes a loud beeping noise, and sounded like it was clapping. Early on in kneading. I’m trying to figure out what this means. Something? Nothing? please help.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  11 месяцев назад

      It is most likely telling you it is time to add fruit and nuts if you are going to add them to your bread and the clapping noise is the nut and fruit dispenser opening up in case you put them in there. Thanks for subscribing.

    Did you follow some directions on what to do first when you unpack the bread maker? It appears that you just unpacked it washed the pan and started making bread. My directions list a long list of things to do before you use it. Please advise.

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  8 месяцев назад

      If this is your first time using a bread machine it might be best to read through the directions. Most of it is common safety practice when using small appliances. However it never hurts to be informed when using a new appliance. I have been using bread machines many years so I’m comfortable with their operation. I would advise at least reading over the material so you can practice safe guidelines.

      Sorry I had to leave the presentation this afternoon. I do have a question about the bread maker though. If I choose not to add raisins or Craisins or nuts to the bread I think given time breadmaker makes several loud noises you are hitting it. I am on my second machine because that same thing for a large dent in the side of the bread maker. What should I do with this? And another issue with the difficulty removing the panel. Bought a new pan from Amazon. It arrived today. The paddle slipped on and off the pen very easily. I hope that solves the problem and I attempt to remove the paddle With the baking about ready to start. Thank you

    I followed this recipe and my bread came out horrible every time. I recently added 1 egg and my bread came out sooooooo much better! I’m not sure how you’re getting away with not putting an egg! 🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead
      @ButterflyMeadowsHomestead  25 дней назад

      Eggs add enrichment to bread but are not required. It could be the flour you are using needs more protein and the egg gives that. When you say horrible can you explain why. Is it the crumb or lack of rise or something else? I’m glad the egg helped.

      That is the signal for you to add in any add ins you’re going to put in the bread like fruit or nuts and the slapping sound is the nut and fruit dispenser opening up there’s a little box in the top of your lid that you can put the fruit and nuts in and it will dispense automatically when it beeps or when the beep occurs you can manually add them in
