I share your view of cars being art. I feel the same way about guitars and homes too.

3:00 You can thank the OPF for that. Since 2019 I think, OPFs (Otto-particulate-Filters) have been mandatory In europe. They arent in the US, but they are still in the car.
I have a 2016 model (iron block engine and no OPF) and It sounds MEAN. 96db just on the cold start and tinnitus inducing pops and bangs basically stock. Also I dont think there is an RS3 here without a exhaust flap controller that can keep them open at all times.

I ordered one in March and it just arrived at the port in RI yesterday. Should have it in a couple days.
I’ve never really understood the people who hoard cars though. I just like to have one car I drive all the time, and then after about 2 years I get tired of it, so I get a new one. To each their own I guess

Agree with you on the fwd-biased AWD being unpredictable. Not really related, but having gone through 2 BMWs now (one with RWD and now an x-drive), I’ve come to the conclusion that unless you’ve got a ton of power to stick with RWD in BMWs. X-drive just messes with the weight balance, adds another thing to to wrong, and honestly makes the car unpredictable in the snow if you’re trying to be a hoon. Especially in older x-drive applications, it feels like you’re dragging a boat anchor compared to the RWD version.

I agree on the Porsche experience lol. I've driven 911s as well as the Cayenne and Macan and was surprised how much of the Porsche DNA is in their SUVs. If it came down to a daily practical fun car, I'd take a Macan GTS over an M3.

My S4 too! You actually hear the exhaust a bit more in the S5 than the S4 with the farmless doors.

great car and nice video :) but as a German I have to say it's not entirely true that it's their smallest car since the smallest one is the A1, at least in Europe

Personally, I think Audi should make a detuned version of this 5 cylinder standard (or one rung up the ladder from base models of) the A4, A5, Q5, and A6. Think about it. LITERALLY EVERY ENTRY in those segments (except for maybe a couple) come standard with a two🥱liter🥱turbocharged🥱four🥱cylinder🥱with🥱250ish🥱hp. It’d be an instant, easy way to set them apart from everyone else, and I think it could blunt a lot of the criticism that Audi’s are too cold and sterile-feeling. Maybe even play up the kinda driving dynamics in this RS3 with similar tire setups in those models.

A detuned RS3 is detuned. Should be making 600hp. If you want a slower version, get an S3 with a 4 cylinder.
The 5 cylinder is an expensive option. Well worth every penny. These will be rare collectors cars in the future. Not many were made.
