Good review straight to the point . I'm actually on the fence with Seiko... I had a Orange monster that kept awful time.... sent it in it came back a little better dial could have used a air blower as well . I may actually get a addiesdive Willard for work use. Won't feel so bad if it gets knocked around. Thanks for getting to the point I do appreciate your videos
Love Seiko's ,this one in particular,it's a great watch ,huge brand name, workhorse auto movement for reasonable price..cheers Dan, merry Christmas to you and yours.
This model resembles closest to SKX appearance, the best option so far for those who had missed the era of SKX. It is still painful to know SKX is no longer available new.
@@JS-ev4xc exactly! I've been thinking lots about this, and realise the new value options aren't seiko, they are orient! Seiko have changed so much lately, but if you want the look of an iconic dive watch, you can have it, but without the iso rating!
I bought this same watch from an Aussie AD local to me. Shipped overnight from Sydney to the Gold Coast with free express shipping… grand total… $302AUD (£155.40GBP). It’s going to be my next mod project, even though, as far as Seiko goes, it’s actually got a perfectly aligned bezel and chapter ring so I almost don’t want to change it 😂
I got this model at a very good price , a buyer return! It was less than half price, so i pulled the trigger. Upon receipt of the watch, it was obvious to me why it was returned as that p*** poor seiko quality control issue with the bezel alignment was here again! I really can't understand why they continually have this issue with all their divers? The strange thing is that the skx 007/9s were ok if you purchased the J variants mainly? On the plus side, my srpd is 0.1 beat and +5 seconds, so the movement is good, and in general, i think these watches are worth buying if you liked skxs ! But look at the watch in store before you buy is my best advice .
I think they are great for modding, as the parts available make it worth while. I was looking at modding a knackered skx007, but they are still more than I paid for this watch brand new. That's the key difference now if you want to have a seikomod, this is an affordable option.
My SBSA009 "Made In Japan" (SRPD51) is running -8 s/d and 1.2ms error dial up position. Specifically purchased SBSA version hoping QC would be better. I have no problems with build quality but I will most likely regulate the movement. Was hoping it would be better.
Merry Christmas Dan from Chicago. I actually like cheap lightweight bracelets....dont like heavy watches. Is this a possibility? Always nervous about mass produced watches - bezelphobic! Thanks for review.
I know the purists were upset when this replaced the SKX, but you still can’t beat it for value from a high street brand. Thanks for showing it to us.
😂
Thanks for your great reviews over the past year.
Seasons greetings.
Thank you so much. I know it's been less videos, but next year that will improve! Merry Christmas 🎄

Can't go wrong with Addiesdive or Steeldive especially on sale for $50USD.

Just new old stock for triple it's original RRP sadly.
@@watchmewithwatches 1 of SKX attractions is value, with triple the price, it lost the meaning.

Great review was thinking about getting one of those , will wait to see what mods you're going to do , like to mod my seikos too.

I have the Orange Version of this and love it. you sound overly picky for for what you paid. For that money its a good watch :)
Have you seen my videos on other watches that cost less and their quality?
No this one just poped up pn my timeline @@watchmewithwatches
Can I just check, but it looks like this watch has foreign (French?) days on it. Were you aware of that when buying it?
Thanks for the review. Why doesn't it say on them: made in Japan, is it supposed to be like this or is it a fake?
@@Jawir287 many aren't made in Japan!
@@watchmewithwatches so is this normal?
@@Jawir287 totally normal
Just out of curiosity what was the knife you opened the box with?
It's a spyderco para 3 lightweight. Awesome knife.
I thought seikos are pin and collar? Mine is...
Some are indeed.
Looks like SRPD's are with push pins. Mine had them as well. Un-funny part is that I just sold mine for 140euros couple of days ago 😞
If they made this in 40mm it would be an almost perfect dive watch
Seiko spec./price wise just dont cut it. Certainly not the 5 series. Come on Seiko, sapphire crystal for that money must be do-able...
It certainly is, but cost cutting for profit! It's good business, but bad for clued up watch nerds like us.
Come on Seiko make a quartz version.
Your wrist looks small to be that big, if i can say that? 🤔
