You are the best goat format creator when it comes to educational content and I think you have a great eye for meta and what powerful underexplored strategies are
Great guide Allen. One other noteworthy weakness, particularly with the all-in centric lists without Metamorphosis is that they don’t have a lot of ways to deal with set monsters. It’s only a glaring issue against certain more uncommon decks. I’m not much of an expert on Reasoning Gate, but I’ve always liked playing United We Stand in my lists. The card always makes a lot of sense to play in any aggressive deck which can summon several monsters in one turn. Lava Golem is a fun tech I’m fond of siding in vs decks such as Warrior. It can make your Metamorphosis and Brain Control even better and in the case of the latter it can extend your damage output by going back and dealing another 1000.
What set monsters are you so worried about? I think it's easy for a life-long control player to panic if the opponent goes t1 Pot of Greed into Magician of Faith for example, but Reasoning Gate doesn't care about that sort of thing a large chunk of the time.
@ Most specifically while attacking Cyber Jar, Gravekeeper’s Guard, Morphing Jar 2, Newdoria, Night Assailant, Nightmare Penguin, Old Vindictive Magician, Penguin Soldier, Pyramid Turtle and Spirit Reaper. Each of them can likely save the opponent from an attack. They’re still going to have to contest whatever board you’ve made, though it’s a line of defence Trunade can’t affect. Cyber Jar is especially problematic if it’s a Burn or other combo deck. Everything you want to do to win is before and during the battle phase and it’s going to wipe out all of your monsters. The opponent will be the one to capitalize most off the five new cards. Morphing Jar 2 is rare to see, but certainly back breaking if you were to attack it with several monsters on the field.
Also, a very good combo that new RSG don't realize, is that if you have any combination of 2 meta or d fusion (2 metas, 2 d fusion, 1 meta and 1 d fusion) and you gate or reasonig a DMOC and have a d fusion or meta in grave you can do this combo: Dnoc would Special Summon and you would get one of your combo pieces. In total, you would have a Dmoc in game and a combination of 3 cards meta and d fusion, you need at least 1 of each. You would meta bring gatling... then D fusion Summon DMOC get either D fusion or meta to have a D fusion and meta in hand . If You want to declare Gatling here is the time because if you get more heads you can destroy Dmoc and bring it back and get back d fusion again. (2000 dmg normal 4000 if more heads) Then meta Dmoc for gatling and then d fusion again (4000 dmg normal 6000 with more heads) and then you would have an extra dmoc eff you could get lighting vortex, snatch, heavy, trunade, monster reincarnation, premature, etc... anything to give you game, they have exactly 8000 dmg. With the extra card you almost never even have to use Gatling eff you could just get a thing that give you game. Gatling dragon 2600 Gatling dragon 2600 DMOC. 2800 ------------------------------------ 8000 It's not that common, but I could tell you that I make that more times that you would think.
I really like sinister in this deck. Not only it s a free ss from reasoning because none will ever say 1 BUT you play cards like monster reinc, lightning vortex, card destruction etc etc so definitely sinister s useful.
@luis-ie3de sometimes you ll have reasonings plus monster gates. None will ever call 1. You ll ss sinister and then you use monster gate on it. This deck autoloses if your opponent guesses correct your reasoning. With ss, this can't happen. For it me it has worked really well so far. You can also bring TER with meta.
@@GoatDuels A ok Einstein And anyone who s smart enough d understand it was an exaggeration to show the weakness of the deck or what hurts it more... Stop proving me boy why i was happy when i stopped playing this game.
Yeah, if you come here saying things that are factually untrue, I'm going to point that out. Playing bad cards so your opponent is less likely to guess your Reasoning correctly is an inferior strategy to just playing good cards, as every single single top Reasoning Gate player will tell you. I'm sorry if that upsets you.
Good video 3:38 I've seen all the way up to 8 hits for reasoning at the top end (which is probably too many) at 7 hits you're probably on 2 crane 2 Fusiler, and 3 tribute monsters? what ratios should I am for in those terms? one thing I notice is every build played 3 light monsters. I wish you talked a little more about ratios of lights/darks/levels. 6:39 I've been a fan of trying out decree as a 2 of but I'm very unsure about it, in stein OTK builds it's really good 9:05 wow I've never seen a reasoning gate deck not play 3 goats or rather any deck that has played 0 scapegoat also played 0 monster gate (and was thus a completely different deck) 12:07 What I find interesting about meta is that other than scapegoat and DMOC the best card to meta away is Fusiler but I've noticed you and other players have been going low on fusiler recently. 17:06 Yeah I've been playing stein OTK a lot recently (a last will build) and you definitely get that "you do an the exact same sequence every time with the exact same goals" thing, You have to play 1. a way to clear their backrow (jinzo, Trunade, Storm, Decree) 2. A way to put stein into play 3. An extra special summon 4. Clear their blocker This is simpler than it sounds because cards can overlap but there are games where you'll go "Trunade, Nobleman, Stein, Megamorph" where each card did 1 of those 4 tasks. (megamorph is an extra "special summon" or in Say " Flip decree, Last will, Last will, ROTA>Exiled" ROTA+Exiled cleared blocker, last will 1 played stein last will 2 put extra summon (lily) and decree blocked backrow. 23:13 hey now i've summoned Stein into Ryu Senshi many times, once I even trolled a Chaos turbo player by going "ROTA>D.D assailant, set stein set Mirror force GO" opponent set setx2 passes I flip over stein summon Ryu senshi summon zaborg and I faceroll him to an easy dub by turn 3. 32:10 I still almost exclusively call level 8 and my ev estimates are pretty similar (basically not winning if they flip DMOC, mostly don't care if they flip crane)
Thanks for this video. I’m super new to goat format and someone activated reasoning on me and I had no idea what to do lol
very good guide. i actually feel like I can build a decent reasoning deck + pilot it properly after watching this.
The timing is great, I just decided yesterday to try to play this deck

With gate being reprinted, this is well timed!
Horus/King Draguun Version is my favorite.

Don't see it as a free ss, but as a wasted one. I rather have literally anything else

i built the non removal trap decklist a few days ago and i hate it. I'm often hardstuck on said kycoos etc. Im gonna give ur build a shot, thanks

Can you do a tutorial guide for every competitive deck?
Eventually, yes. It will take quite a bit of time.
Hard to build, harder to play, lots of potential. Always exciting to see this deck get a top
i like to side the invader of darkness technology for the goat control decks
I have a question about your formula. How do you calculate the odds of winning the game when calling the reasoning level?
They are estimated probabilities based on experience.
We playing mtg? 0-4 copies of jar of greed?
There’s a water build too
