G'day from Australia. Thanks for the video, I love your style mate hahaha. I've crapped a front diff in my '94 FZFE so I'm searching all the material I can find on this subject, mine was weird coz it just sorta locked up every now and then. I haven't had the chance to pull mine apart yet but as soon as I've moved the truck to where I can work on it I'll be down to business, I'm helping out my son in law with his as well, not just a diff but she's getting a massive rebuild/birthday and he's slowly getting there. These 80's are excellent, I'll probably be buried in mine hahaha. Cheers fellas.
You didnt say anything about the drive flange, On most occasions i have just simply replace the drive flange as it seems to wear at about twice as fast as the Birfield Joint, On many occasions we have put just the flange on even with the flange slipping and it will last 50 to 100k before it slips again, I have been selling Toyota Parts for the last 30 years and specialized in Land Cruisers and toyota powertrain parts, as I have owned and maintained LandCruisers for same period. I make my living on part sales and would just simply make sure to tell customers (basically, talk them out of replacing the Birfield unless necessary), when resealing the knuckle to inspect the flange and replace them it they show signs of 50% wear or more on the teeth when resealing the knuckle and the Birfield will last two to three times longer. if the Birfield is less than 50% worn on the teeth, just replace the flange on a daily driver. especially.will save over 1k in replacement parts.

Only 100k miles and what?!?!? I have over 250k miles on my h233b (Nissan, VERY similar) and no wear even close to that. I know Toyota 3rds are built amazing...would you say lack of maintenance???
