Former Police Officer Arrested After Sting Operation by Chris Hansen, Michigan Task-Force

- A part-time police officer was arrested after during a joint sting operation by Chris Hansen and the Genesee County Sheriff’s GHOST task force in Michigan on March 17, 2022. Hansen said 44-year-old Todd Barraco denied any wrongdoing. The Vassar Police Department said they terminated Barraco after he was charged with multiple felonies related to the sting. The sentences are lenient because they know they commit those crimes! Just like lenient sentences with possession of cocaine!

I lived in the Middle East for some time and they would do public hangings on TV for child offenders. They would have a potato bag over their head so you couldn't see their face. The live broadcast would usually show their name and what they were guilty of and then would show them standing on a high chair that gets pulled from underneath them and they would suffocate and eventually stop moving if their neck didn't break under their body weight when the chair was removed. A great deterrent. Just being around town you would hear when another hanging was scheduled. This was only 10 years ago.

I'm so grateful for these guys that are doing these takedowns. Chris Hanson is a gift to all of us. What he started and what he continues to do is something that I hope will continue well into the future because it is obvious that we need that to happen. Thank you to all the police officers and to the sheriff who is doing this video with Chris. Thank you all so much for helping save our children and for showing us what we need to be doing as parents.
This isn’t even the first time he’s been in the news. He tried to charge someone a $500 fee when they called the police asking for help. Also, his resume is online. Disgusting. He’s spent years working with at-risk youth. Including as a juvenile probation officer. I don’t want to imagine what he tried to extort at that job.
How awful. I hope they see this and come forward so he won’t be given just probation.

Once upon a time a cousin was caught in a sting operation. Like 28-30 and with twins. He was caught in a sting operation driving to the next town to meet a girl between the age of 13-16. He bragged about already being with a 16 year old.
I called his mother immediately to check on her, she was crying but completely denying everything. "It's not what it seems. It's not what it seems." It's never how it seems for these people is it? How many children need to be preyed upon? We ended our conversation after she fed me more bs lies. I literally watched the police body came footage where he FULLY ADMITTED TO DRIVING TO THE LOCATION WITH THE INTENT ON MEETING A CHILD. but it's okay because it was "as a friend". Nothing was done about it. Not a single thing. No charges, no nothing.
And today only two years after that, he and his children are dead. Twins, 6 years old. He inexplicably rammed into the end of a waste truck. It totaled his vehicle. A school bus went by at the same time as the crash, and one of the children told their mother: "it looked like his dead was hanging from his body". The twins were alive, transported to hospital, and died shortly after. It happened in January and their mother has been inconsolable. She posts videos and pictures of them to Facebook every single day.
Why did he do it? I don't know. The waste truck was slowing down to get off a highway. It was not a busy road at all. It wasn't like he didn't see it. They didn't find any alcohol in his system. No drugs. Nothing.
I don't blame the sting operation. And out of respect for the dead who can't defend themselves I won't tell you what I thought of that man. But we need to take these things seriously. It's all fun and games until it's your son, your aunt, your uncle, your brother or sister. It disgusts me that he was allowed access to those children. It disgusts me that nobody in his family seemed to care that he was out diddling kids. And now two innocent children are dead. When someone is caught in these stings, you really need to be careful about them. You never know what they will do. His wife and children deserved better. The twins were bright, happy, and bubbly. Just watch people when they're struggling. I have been to so many funerals, but seeing two dead children in their casket when they were laughing and playing around the house not a year prior to that is something I don't wish on anyone. Stay safe, and check on your people.

I don't think people realize how common it is for 15, 16, 17 year olds to have relationships with older people. Unfortunately some people at that age seek it, especially women. Usually it's just with early to mid 20 year olds but this is beyond a common thing. Just talk to enough women and you'll hear wild story's. That's not an excuse for the offenders, they deserve what they get. But there is more to this. It's just less talked about with people who already knew each other off line.
@@dannibble Pretty sure most people know. It's usually rooted in some kind of mental issue from my observation. Not always, but a lot of the time. My grandmother was 17 and when she met my grandfather who was 27. They married and had one child together, and stayed together until my grandfather died. It is one thing for a real and genuine relationship to come about, and quite another for predators to seek victims or for even a younger person to prey on an older one for money or other needs/wants they may have. It's quite a web that gets woven.
As far as the gender reference, I have known of many more males than females to seek out younger people. For men it's a "young and firm" thing. These are usually the ones who have an issue with how a female changes in appearance or physical "feel" as time goes. For the older women seeking a younger male it is usually that they seek a fawning, agreeable, sexually charged individual who has better physical strength and ability. And when I say "younger" I mean years, maybe even a decade or more younger. For those who may assume I am referencing a difference of 3-4 years. Either way, when grown adults seek out children for physical gratification that is something that deserves being tossed under the jail.
Well... You'll be happy to learn that this guy will be fully repaying his debt to society. To wit: Not only did his sentence involve two weeks time-served until the Police Molesters Support Fund was finally able to bail him out, he was also provided a calico dress and matching pumps, wig, eyelash extensions, and a fully-stocked MAC makeup case, and ordered to complete two years of community service as a participant of the local library's Drag Queen Story Hour.

I've been a pediatric nurse for over 20yrs. I've unfortunately been at the part when these sick individuals have done damage to an innocent soul.
My kids are adults now. I remember going home after my shift. My kids were small and I would feel a sense of fear for them. I'm a father of 3 and couldn't imagine what I would do to someone who would hurt my kids. Hurt them like what I've seen that was done to my patients. I do know that they would be better off being caught by Chris Hanson.

S.A.N.E. nurses are a special breed. I don't know how they detach & maintain composure in court. OMG & my child gets upset that I won't allow her sleepovers if any male will be in the home. Sorry, not sorry.

I love how people think just because someone is a judge, politician, cop, doctor, nurse, plumber, bed wetter, that some how we should be shocked by this. Not everyone gets into a profession because they have a moral compass. There are bad people and good people in all walks of life and careers. That is like saying all judges and lawyers are good, when in fact we know most are corrupt, power hungry, and defend who has the most money. But you will find a good one here and there.

a recent study shows 30% of law enforcement are substance abusers/addicts. That says it all.
That's the problem. Monsters are real, they're everywhere, and they can look just like us. It's why it's important to make people aware of how these monsters operate, and the dangers of social media. Kids, parents and pretty much everyone needs to be aware of 'stranger danger', and when these creeps are getting a little too friendly. I think online games can be especially dangerous as a lot don't log chats, or make it at all easy for parents/guardians to check for anything suspicious. Sadly, it's not always easy for LEO's to do that either.
This is exactly why they canceled this show. Cops, politicians, public officials, etc were getting exposed…

It’s so amazing that Chris Hansen was not only able to pioneer this brilliant show format for entertainment and pubic educational purposes but, to also be able to do genuine and objective good by calling out these predacious and dangerous creeps while simultaneously preventing them from being able to inflict any actual harm to any minors through their abusive and exploitative actions is truly incredible.

2) kids don't tell generally because they think they're in the wrong and will get in trouble (generally reinforced by the groomer/molester), or the judgement and repercussions from their parents.

Chris and Sheriff Swanson thank you so much for your great work. May God continue to bless you both in your great works. I was a very aware parent and for that my children stayed safe. Both of my children have decided not to have children of their own due to the world we live in. That is so sad to me. But I can understand.
Chris Hansen and John Walsh really need to team up. I'd love to hear them give some talks on what they have learned doing this sort of stuff. Imagine the stories and the knowledge these two could share with other and the impact it could make.
