    Going with containers this year. I just got 30 Blue 300# feed barrels for $2 each. He has 100’s. 😊 He sells and uses the feed. An endless supply. Thanks for showing us container setup. Also follow Leon.

    I really like my lazy garden so far … I haven’t put the drip irrigation on it yet .. I have taters and onions planted in 4 of the slits .. the onions are the best looking onions that I have .. I planted some tomatoes plants in it just lately

      I figured this might teach me how to hook up and operate the drip irrigation so I can order for rest of my garden

      I ordered the little valves to go on the ends so I can just water certain things if I want to

      That’s the best way to do it. I try to always have valves on my irrigation rows.

      Actually, I don’t feel like I gave it a good trial yet. We had a tornado that came through and tore up so much that I have not been able to give my attention to it like I should. It’s a great concept, though, and I think it should work well. I do have some sunflowers and watermelons coming up that are about to mature… So not a total loss by any means.

      @@BIGALTX thank you! I think I will get a couple. I love that the holes are already done and the drip line is cut and ready to be connected. We are in Florida so thinking I will put drip line underneath to help it last longer.

    I had bad troubles with carpenter ants, took a jelly jar lid and put molasses in there, then put yeast, placed them at visible activity, they take the mixture back to there nest and when they eat it they splodey, haven't seen a carpenter ant in a dozen years.

    Noticed you have another channel. On it you were talking about shade cloth. How well has it held up?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  6 месяцев назад +1

      I just used it for the first time last year. I put them back in a box and will be putting them back out.
      Id definitely do it over and over again. The shade cloth will last for many years I think.

      Thanks for your reply. I had some old white row cover. I put it over my tomatoes. Normally by the 3 week in July the tomatoes were over. I had tomatoes all the way to the end of September. Never wilted down during the heat of the day.

    What we used to do is pour hot oil into the anthill, for 3 days straight they don't return and they don't live

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  6 месяцев назад

      Well… I have 17 acres. And hundreds of ant mounds. Oil is expensive, heating it up is expensive and carrying it to the plethora of ant mounds I have would be very dangerous.
      If you only have one ant mound in your backyard then yes, you might want to try it but still… Be careful.
      I’ve heard hot water works too
