    Same issue started 3 day ago on our UE65ES8000, we bought this in 2013, so 5 years on now.
    Followed you information and downloaded the service bulletin as per the URL you gave : www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=519491&postcount=7
    Also found and a copy of the service manual from : elektrotanya.com/samsung_ue40es8000_ue46es8000_ue55es8000_ue65es8000_chassis_u81a.pdf/download.html
    Burn marks on the last to pins of the connector cable, I cleaned the cable and the socket on the board gently with a toothbrush and cleaning alcohol, the TV seems to be stable now.. Thank you very much :)

    Hi.
    I have a samsung ue50f65505sb.
    It first startet randomly power looping with clicking sound. Had to unplugg power socket, and it worked from minutes to days depending on its mood. Now it's a similar fault but more often, and also it's going in loop when using any button on the remote. When I unplug the power socket, it still making clicking sound 5-10 seconds after. I then have to unplugg all the HDMI before I turn TV on again and it's working again. Just open the back today and checked both power and the other electronic board, with no visible damage. Is this a main board problem, or capacitors?

    Aha, you have saved me a bunch of bother. I'll check out the cable on my recently packed up telly tomorrow night. I'll let the family stew a little first.

      I've fixed mine. I got 2 replacement headers (3711-007742) and a replacement cable (BN39-01475C) from Charles Hyde and Sons LTD in York (UK), which were delivered the next day. I only used one of the headers though, to replace the burnt out white one on the PSU. I desoldered it with the help of some leaded solder and some solder wick.

      +jo0ls Nice fix! I just ended up wiring the connector directly. It's more of a hack, but I think it will be more reliable.

    Mine also started to have these problems, I removed the cable from the plugs and rubbed all the contacts with a toothbrush with oil, turned it on and it was like new.

    I have the same TV, and the pins was also burn out. I soldered two wires directly from the pads underneath the power suply to avoid the connector. But the television is still power cycling with no backlight on. THe voltage switches (measured on the main board) from 0V to 5.3V. The 13V pins switches between 0V and 12.75V.
    I have tried to disconnect the main boad from the power suply, and then the backlight can turn on. Any ideas on the problem?
    Thank you very much!

    • @ubuntututorials
      @ubuntututorials  9 лет назад +1

      +akoen1 are you bypassing the 5V correctly? If it is still cycling but you do not get colour patterns or noise on the screen, then most likely it is a main board issue rather than a power board issue

    • @akoen1
      @akoen1 9 лет назад

      +ubuntututorials Im just bypassing the connector by adding the wires directly to the pads underneath. It could be a problem with the main board. But there doesn't appear to be any shortings. I think it is strange that the TV is power cycling if the main board is the issue? And strange that i only measure 12.75V at a 13V pin? Sure it is main board, and not TCON or power supply?
      I have posted a thread to badcaps:
      www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50476
      Any help would be very appreciated!

    What's creating this fault? Like what's Samsung's solution, new harness/connector?

    • @ubuntututorials
      @ubuntututorials  9 лет назад +1

      +mrsemifixit Samsung's permanent fix is a replacement cable and connector on the power supply end. Unfortunately I was unable to source this so went for the "manual" method.

      @@ubuntututorials I found a replacement cable here on ebay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203995085412?epid=1530977237&hash=item2f7f0dfa64:g:zF8AAOSwyKhbUvab
      So far, the TV is working again. I have Model UE46ES8000.
      Thanks very much for linking the pdf to the repair guide! I got a membership at that forum and found the part number I needed (BN39-01475C). This was for a 46" TV.

    And they complaint about how much labour we've charge, despite the effort we made for trying to fix and find the fault on their tv, although the cause is just the cable..

    Hey what do you think about the Flir E4 cam which is hackable to E8 specs. ? worth buying of flirone for android?

    • @ubuntututorials
      @ubuntututorials  8 лет назад +1

      They are both decent cameras, I am tempted to sell my Seek Thermal and get a Flir One myself. The Flir One has a better sensor with slightly lower resolution (Flir is 160x120 vs Seek at 208x156), but the overall performance should be much better on the Flir. Can't beat the E4 + hack, but then again depends again on what you want it for, maybe overkill for simple diagnosis work.

    • @daaudiome

      Tom question why did you set up the scope at AC coupling if the output it's DC right?. can you correct me. I'm really interested on how you're
      using the scope. the whole purpose is to see the ripples right? as the
      output it's not being smooth ?. Can you please clarifiy me on this. And
      again how did you set up the scope I have an owon DS8202V. thanks again
      tom , by the way I'm seriously thinking on getting the flir E4 and hack
      it to E8 but it don't know if it's really worth to diagnose shorted
      components heating instead if injecting voltage.

    It is very simple just only to be the cable connector between power supply and mainboard and in that case it didnt even need to make a video to show a such a simple repairing.But once it was told,how to tell people that their tv died and need boards replacement with outrageous costs.

    It just seems like a loose lvds connection which would explain the type of pattern, what was the point of this video anyway?? and you also need to be very careful when working around and probing those types of power supplies as they can kill you.
