This was so helpful. I like the look of 14k gold but I’ve recently gotten new piercings, so I’ve been looking a jewelry again. I was having a hard time seeing the difference between gold PVD titanium and solid 14k gold.
No, there is not. The anodized color could last for years before it starts to visibly wear off (this of course depends on where the piercing is since the outer layer gradually rubs off essentially).
anodized and plated are not the same thing. Anodized is thickening the existing outer layer, which is why it can't be done to steel, as it will rust.. Plating is covering a medal in another medal material, ie steel ring then a plate of gold to give the illusion of it being solid gold.

....I guess I needed to see this.
Thanks youtube you've done it again
Interesting, never heard of anodising before.
I NEEDED THIS SOOO MUCH !!
Yes but they can also stamp a fake gold as regular gold so how do I know I'm not getting scammed
I can't wait for my anodized jewellery arrive lol. Good info the time when I needed it
it arrived and rose gold anodized is quite different from the real one too
I wish u had as covered: zircon gold pvd! That’s the best and most realistic aside of gold filled !!
I got gold plated spikes for my dimples like two weeks ago and they are already silver 🥲🥲
Better off getting real gold since usually gold plated body jewelry doesn’t have gold plating.
if i can only wear titanium jewelry without a reaction, is there any way to
have any color besides silver that lasts permanently?

If it is anodised, it will last a looong time, titanium should be fine for you
