About Kiedis not singing in the chorus, I read comments on the Tiny Dancer performance from the same concert saying he has tinnitus and it was acting up, causing him pain and whatever.
I love that John was clearly a little thrown that he was all of a sudden singing the chorus alone, but then was like, "I got this" and now I prefer just John singing the chorus. As Bob Ross would say, just a happy accident.

These 2 solos from JF are easily some of his best ever. They’re so simple yet so incredibly beautiful and passion filled. I’ve listened to this performance hundreds of times and something about these solos just grab me every time. Always thankful for John frusciante and so happy he’s back!!

How many times have I heard “it’s simple but it’s good” duhhh as if the standard is guitar sweeps and uptempo ragtime. Louie, Louie is simple. Yellow Submarine is simple. This not so much. I also think it’s a condescending compliment.

All respect to Josh as a musician and artist...I love him, *but* you can really tell a difference in the flow of the live shows. John was definitely leading them in the shows. Now they are more of an equal footing band, and that's not to take away from Flea and Chad.
in this concert, Anthony had tinnitus. it is obvious in another video of this show. Thats why we can see more of john not only doing his usual back voice but also saving it for Anthony.
I tell you what, John isn't just a great guitarist and singer - he's dependable - the very epitome of a professional. Pity they kept him low in the mix.
