Why do you keep calling Jesus the son of David? I know that he is referred to in scripture as the son of David, but really he is the son of God and I'm a little confused because not once did I hear you say he is the son of God although I did enjoy your interpretation of this psalm and maybe there's something that I just don't understand.... I always believe that Jesus was the son of Mary and most important, he was is and always will be the son of God! We all know that David committed Grayson by having a man murdered because he was lusting after his wife Bathsheba of course he repented, nevertheless murder is a terrible sin!
Suzie, great question!!! God prophesied that the Messiah would come from the lineage of King David, and so we see that Jesus was connected to David in that way. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, and had no earthly father, but Mary was in the human blood line of David, and so Jesus was also designated at the Son of David. That designation would serve as an identifier of who Jesus was. Thanks for writing. Hope this helps!
