I like preachers like DAVID Guzik because he teaches for even those who cant read to understand ❤ ,there are preachers who preach and you cant stay in the spirit you have to GRAB a dictionary in the midst of church or go home frustrated but thanks be to you sir am full and would have more....you breakdown the word OF GOD and I fully understand

Obedience/mercy over sacrifice, Perfect!
Obedience is so much easier than to disobedience then later for repentance/sacrifice. Yes, we will be forgiven but more than likely we will still have to deal with the consequences. Plus repentance is so messy, just look what David did bringing back the ark. 2 Samuel 6:13.

Is this Psalm using an analogy of slavery? It says instead of one of the ears that is pierced (by a pointed tool) have both my ears. It sounds like slavery was normalized during a time but I could be wrong too if its not being portrayed as that. I understand the section of God not wanting animal sacrifices and wanting our obedience.
in the old testament times the slavery was a kind of social support than slavery in the modern sense, they had to be set free at the end of 6 years ,year of jubilee,Judah was condemned to 70 years in exile because they had not followed this law for 490 years ,including the jubilee of the land
so if its a "burnt offering". that doesn't sound like a grain. it sounds like blood
