  • Psalm 44 is a psalm by the sons of Korah speaking about the great victories of God for Israel, who goes through crisis, disappointment, and ultimate trust in God.

Im so glad you clarified the timing of the psalm. I always thought it was referring to their exile and I thought it was outrageous that the sons of Korah would claim Israel’s faithfulness.

I heard in my dream the other day, “my sheep get slaughtered”. I have never read psalm 44. I went through a spiritual event that included other people around me and brought me to the feet of God. But the people involved have no remorse, continue in their doing and are blessed to a certain extent. I know the Bible says he considers us all as we all walk under the same sun, but I was confused to see where I fit into all this as a shattered new follower. You explained it beautifully 🙏🏻.

Thank you for this wonderful exposition. You’ve helped me grasp why The Holy Spirit led me to this Psalm, but I couldn’t quite understand why.
My life is not perfect, but I know I’m in the centre of HIS will. God Our Father and I are OK, like old friends. Yet, I feel so dissatisfied, so unhappy, asking Him repeatedly what is going on? I’m not wandering, I’m within the gates, yet why am I constantly kept in such confined straits? I ask not out of ingratitude, but a need to understand what’s going on. If this screen were paper it would be stained with my tears of gratitude. Blessings to you & your ministry. 🙏

I know this was written over 1000 years ago, but this Psalm would express how the Jews might have felt during the Holocaust. How sad and helpless they must have felt.

"Feel as if God is asleep.."
When Yeshua said, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"
Yeshua "feels" as if God the father left Him.
Yet the truth is all for God's mercy's sake.
The same as the Psalm 44 end verse, all for God's mercy's sake.
Thank you for the enduring words.

Exactly! David was at that moment without faith! Which is ok, everyone of us have been there! Jesus actually taught us how to overpower the world of affliction; having faith, been humble, welling to forgive, and doing to others what we want done to us!!

Psalm 44 has the power of the twelve time's four
Double that and you get 88
    The lucky number indicating more
But we don't leave things to fate
Pray like every thing depends on God
And work like it all depends on you
Put your enemies to the sword
Others says what would jesus do
    Old testament
    Eye for eye
    I spy
The Downfall of the strong and the rise of the meek

In addition to what I said on the others comments, I would like to add my own perspective regarding to psalm 44: Jesus indeed saved us from all that miss conception of God; he said: God is Spirit, in different occasions, after a miracle was performed, he stated: your faith has saved you! Now better then David, we do know that God is beyond human emotions, though he understands it, the world we live in according to our teacher, Jesus of Nazareth, is a world of affliction, however, if you can believe, all thins are possible to those who believe! To overpower the world, we have to forgive, to acquire knowledge, wisdom and have faith in our selves, people and in God that is Spirit! The source of everything that is, the only God, God of all nations not Israel alone!

Let us face the reality presented in this psalm: David think God is sleeping, is less faithful then them that spite of being humans, have kept their part of the covenant; that perhaps, he does not like them no longer, and as a unfaithful , spouse or business partner very often do, God has abandoned them! Sounds familiar? All that shows to us that we have a miss concept of him

Very problematic psalm! More we speak about it, more it contradict the whole notion of God’s nature and caracter; a God wich never would let them down, faithful to his covenant, which include the “IFS”!
