I know this was posted 3 years ago and I don't think anyone will see this. However, thank you, I ran across this today and really needed this. My soul has been crushed lately. I felt I just not good enough to be blessed. Thank you for helping me and showing me where Satan has been lying to me.

I opened up the Bible and it opened to psalm 42 so I read it and put it away. The very next morning I opened my Bible app and the verse of the day was psalm 42:11! God is soo good 🙌✨

My daughter called me, so depress, I search for the words to help her. I thank you for preaching words that make sense to apply in our lives. To expect and accept the Lord goodness to bring us thru our depression and difficult challenges. We believers know this but, sometimes lack the words to share it with those we love. Thank you and God Bless.

Such an experience is what we went through during Covid lockdown. Cut off from the body of Christ. But in our families there was part of the body

Isn't it interesting how the Holy Spirit reveals truth to each of us differently. I have always understood 42:7 to mean God calls during the depths of trouble and despare. I have always teamed this verse with Psalms 139.. "Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you" Praise the Lord.

TLM priests pray this Psalm 42 before going up the steps of the altar during mass.
It makes perfect sense as to why they do it. Before the altar, before the tabernacle.

Psalm 41 pointed to Jesus betrayal, quoted at the last supper and the laments spill over into Psalms 42 43 44. The laments will be broken by the love song , the wedding song in Psalm 45. A wedding of the King following tribulations of this world in Psalm 44.
