Question: Why *would* someone slow down their solve? What’s wrong with shooting themselves in the foot? Is there something bad that happens when you get a good time?
@@antonpershin998 Which question is that answering? I get that it's against the rules to "intentionally use a bad algorithm", but why is it so? What unfair advantage does bad times give you?
@@haph2087 I'm no expert, but I'm guessing it's to discourage waste of WCA and comp organizers' resources on purposes other than ascertaining an accurate competitive result. After all, it would be a waste of the judge/scrambler's time - and if a comp is at the cap of competitors, the sandbagger would be taking a spot that could have gone to a legitimate competitor.
I use R2 S2 R2 U* R2 S2 R2. (The direction of the U* depends on the AUF.) It can be faster than the M U one, but it’s trickier to learn, and still slightly slower for me, mainly because I suck at S moves.
True. I’m probably going to switch back to the MU one if I don’t get much better at this one soon. Even my RUS Ua perm kinda sucks. I spend more time dealing with catches than I do turning.
S moves are slice moves. M is the most common slice to turn, but some algorithms will occasionally use the S slice. (There’s also the E slice, but to my knowledge, it’s only used in blindfolded and one Roux LSE case.) M stands for the middle layer, and it’s the easiest slice to finger trick. E stands for the equatorial layer. It’s not really practical or ever necessary to turn it from home grip. S stands for standing layer, which isn’t really self explanatory. It’s the one that you can turn without affecting the side facing you. Unlike E, it’s easy to reach, but if I’m keeping my left hand in home grip and turning with my right hand,, the cube becomes really unstable, and is the only move that puts you at risk of dropping the cube.

If you want to send it in an anticlockwise direction 🔄, do the steps opposite, I.e Clockwise would change to Counterclockwise starting from the bottom. I don't comprehend why that would be an "illegal" algorithm. The only things that make sense as "illegal" are you using a machine to solve it, or speed disassembly and reassembly.
You're expected to take the competition seriously. There's a limited number of spots, time, and resources, and you don't want people showing up and treating it as a joke.
@Ryan Xu , I don't get what makes the algorithm "illegal"? If algorithm solves the cube and it is done in time, what difference does it make? What does limited completion spots, time, and resources have to do with the legality of an algorithm? If the algorithm works, how is it treating the competition as a joke? I'm hyper focused on why is it being called "illegal".

lol funny enough that's the first case I learned how to do in the 2-look PLL. btw idk why he and people in the comments are using such very long algorithms, if you reach this position ( 0:27 ), you can hold it from any side, of course having the white on the bottom and the yellow on top, and then use the short algorithm " M'2 U' M'2 U'2 M'2 U' M'2 ". ok now that I count it its not shorter but definitely easier to execute on the spot

M2 U' M2 U2 M2 U' M2
Bruh when I saw the perm I got so startled that I jumped I'm dying 😂😂
for the people questioning on why is it illegal to do that algorithim
according to the WCA it is illegal to do that alg because it meant to slower their time and automatically DNF it
So the algorithim was a H Perm and its simple
Technically you using the MU Algs like this:
M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2
or this:
M2 U M2 U2' M2 U M2
But that algorithim is illegal to do a H Perm without the MU Algs:
z2 (R U R' U) D x30
you have to do the [ (R U R' U') D ] 30 times in a row to solve the cube (that means you get a slower time)
so to the anyone who is a speedcuber dont do this alg because you might get a DNF (in a real competition) or you get a slower time
