    Welcome to California! Just so you know, the speed limit on most of our freeways is 65mph, or about 105kph. Be thankful that you weren’t trying to do that drive during commute hours, you wouldn’t have been going faster than 10 mph.
    You could have titled this video “Bjorn by the Bay” 😃

    Bjorn is going to beat every other Model 3 owner in making the first useful supercharging time lapse video, compared with other Tesla cars. All we’ve seen so far was glances of supercharging without seeing the full picture. The other owners were like “Bjorn is in Norway, no way he will be able to test the Model 3 before we get around to doing it.” Well SURPRISE.

    I love the rambling videos. It was also cool to have someone riding along. I have decided that the long range luxury is too expensive. I was able to sit in one and it’s nice, and I know it will drive like a Tesla, but I am not in a rush so I will wait and see what the standard battery can do. It will be lighter, and more efficient with a smaller battery. I bet it does much more than 220 miles of range. I am going to test the leaf for fun

    About Autopilot controll:
    The right scrollwheel is not used for anything at the moment. Only pressing activate voicecommands atm.
    So scroll up/down and right/left click is not used yet.
    I bet tesla will implement it later with a software update :)

    45:09 If you want to have fun driving, and test the handling of the Model 3, you should make another video
    starting from that spot (Start of shoreline Highway) up to The Point Reyes Lighthouse, about 45 miles (70 km)
    back and forth, when there is less traffic like later in the evening or at night or earlier in the morning.

    This is a daily car, meant to get me to work in Florida. Pick up my kids at sports. Wind noise without engine noise is expected. Also the turn signal stock operates like my Ford Flex. You'd get used to it soon enough.

    The big question, for those of us outside the US, must be how the coming international version of Tesla Model 3 will compare to the 2019 Hyundai IONIQ EV. In both range, features, availability and price. Especially the availability of the two cars will be interesting, as I think demand for both will be significantly larger than the supply.

    Im torn now, was considering a model 3 but after doing the math, I can get a Land Rover Velar for less over 8 years. My commute per day is only 35km round trip. Even if i get the dual motor version the Rover gives me more room for my kids. However, we have a bunch of used P60-P85's....I'll have to do more research to see if buying warranty is worth it. Anyone here with a used 2014 model s? What warranty options do you get if it's a 3rd party seller?

  • @stevenh4797
    @stevenh4797 6 лет назад +1

    Thanks Bjorn. Couple of things I'm wondering if you'd reconsider... while it would be hard to buy a Tesla without AP, adding that to the base car I think would still make for a really great car for many people for $40-41K... I think most people would be very happy to have stretched about $5K beyond the Leaf you mentioned for a SR 3 with AP. Second point, a minor one, the car you were driving cost $55K or $56K (yes, with California's high taxes thrown in, maybe $63K, but I think for most viewers the comp would be without taxes).

    • @stevenh4797
      @stevenh4797 6 лет назад

      I hear what you are saying, plenty will be happy with AP. That said, AP isn't just AP... there are features I'm near certain that would be included in the well-optioned Leaf Bjorn was comparing to, like adaptive cruise control, that you can't get on the 3 without the AP suite... i.e., just makes for a fairer comparison. Again, you make a fair point, lots of people would probably be thrilled to have a Tesla without AP (I drive about 550 miles about a dozen times a year, so I guess I was a little focused on my own preferences, lols).

    • @stevenh4797
      @stevenh4797 6 лет назад

      Bjorn was specifically talking about a fully loaded Leaf costing $36K. I never missed TACC until I got it, and discovered how much I really really like it. Of course, I want to drive my Model 3 much of the time all by myself, no AP... as I wrote before, a dozen times a year, I drive 550+ miles. I do that in one day. From what people with AP have told me more than once, I will find that trip way less tiring with AP. As I already said, I was probably thinking more of my needs there then generally, and yes, as I said in my last response, you have a fair point... there will be people thrilled to have a Model 3 without any of this.

    I'm a model 3 reservation holder and currently making my mind up whether to purchase the car or not.
    I had the pleasure to drive a model S 85 for about 3500 km and find that it is an ergonomically very well designed car.
    So maybe I will go for a used model S instead or wait for the model Y.
    I think that the model 3 is a very nicely shaped car and a milestone for electric vehicles, but in some cases, it seems to be minimalistic for the sake of minimalism.
    An example of this is that there are no buttons to instantly correct the adaptive cruise control speed, the driver has to do it using the menus on the center screen. A few more buttons in combination with a HUD(Head Up Display) behind the steering wheel could help to keep the driver focused on traffic.

  • @tjmelka
    @tjmelka 6 лет назад

    Ha ha! You are driving around my neighborhood. I live in Marin county. My MS drifts out of the lane in the same place as the Model 3. I have AP1 and it loses sight of the lanes as it crests the hill at the same place on 101 south. Many bug reports to Tesla on that. So not a problem unique to Model 3 or AP 2.5.
