It has to be Megitsune. The song is is the true definition of Babymetal from their style to their genre and their culture. Other two songs would be Headbanger and Ijime Dame Zettai.
I guess someone already said it but still, you NEED to see the live version. Babymetal Death Legend 1997 Live. Also check out Rondo Of Nightmare With Mischiefs Of Gods intro live. Their darkest song to date.
Great reaction. I appreciate you want to hear a song first and to just listen, absorb the lyrics etc, that is your way. Can I suggest that, having heard the album version of any BABYMETAL song, you then go to watch a live performance. BABYMETAL are first and foremost a live performance act, they even say themselves that their best aspect is in their live performance. The albums are good, the studio recordings are good - but unlike most other bands that is not where they are at their best. It is a bit like listening to the sound track of a movie where you've never seen the movie and you have no clue about the plot. I think of their albums as being like taster menus in a restaurant. You order the taster and it will give you an idea of what the main course will be like, but only when you get the full course served will you appreciate the balance of flavours, the extra seasoning, how all the ingredients and elements work together. This is BABYMETAL - the album tracks give you a good idea of the song, only when you see and hear it live will you really get the full flavour of how it should be experienced. I hope you will follow the links to 'BABYMETAL Death' live at Legend 1997 that have been left in the comments. 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first track on the first album and was most often used as the show opener - it is the perfect introduction - that is what the lyrics are:- "B - A - B - Y - M - E - T - A - L Death Death Death Death Death Death. Su-metal death. Yuimetal death. Moametal death. BABYMETAL death. Death Death Death Death Death Death." It is a play on words. There is no 'TH' sound in Japanese, so to a Japanese speaker death sounds like desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means "To be - I am - you are - we are - it is" etc ... so in Japan you might introduce yourself as "WoeTheReacts desu" (I am WoeTheReacts). All they were doing throughout the song was introducing themselves by name and introducing BABYMETAL by name. On special occasions (eg Legend 1997 celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday) it was used later in the show - on that occasion it was the finale. Three more songs from the first album have to be 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!', 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' and 'Catch Me If You Can' (plus 'Rondo of Nightmare' for their darkest song lyrically, but that is a Su-metal solo). For the best translations with cultural notes and explanations (as Japanese doesn't translate easily) google "du-metal" plus the song title to find Du-metal's blog site.
If we could see the faces to all the people who found gimme choco, decided to buy the cd and put this in for the first time I expect thier reaction would be something like this.
Now try and imagine this song live, with choreography. Legend of 1997 concert. Personally, Number 1: Headbanger, 2: Megitsune, 3: Ijime, Dame, Zettai. You say you are doing Headbanger, do the live one from the Legend of 1997 concert. It does have a pretty good MV, but the crowd add so much. If you are going to do I D Z do the live from Sonisphere 2014 in England, their first major appearance outside Asia.
That is indeed the intro to the album, and often used as an intro to the live shows as well. As with most Babymetal songs, it's much harder live than on the studio recording. Listening to the album is more of a pop experience, while they are metal as f**k on stage. The Kami band is just crazy good. Not to mention the theatrical performance they put on, with enough fire to put Rammstein to shame. Next up needs to be "Rondo of Nightmare", with the "Mischief of Metal Gods" intro. Live at the Budokan.
I guess I get to say it first today...You need to see the live version!! 😂🤣🦊🦊 And THE live version is the finale of the Legend97 show: ruclips.net/video/VE34mRpi6Qk/видео.html 🦊🦊🦊
The talent in this band is amazing. Su is just a queen. She had the “it” factor from the start at an early age. Her vocals are great. Her stage presence is the best I have seen. When she is on the stage she owns the crowd, she owns your soul. And she is in her early 20’s…she can still get better which is mind blowing.
Fun fact: This was the intro of most of their concerts from 2013-2017 and talk about instant frenzy and mosh pits galore! When you got time on your hands, check out some of the fan cams (there are many) of this song live and you will see the chaos man!
As many already told you, this is an intro song, and it's at it's best on the Legend 1997 performace :D They won several best live act, so you should give it a try :D And read the video description, since it gives you the translation of the opening cinematic!
Great reaction video. Babymetal is crazy good if it clicks, resonates. It's like a switch goes off and you are simply floored by them, in total awe. No band ever hit me like Babymetal did. Not even close. Elitists won't feel them, understand them. Friggin Rob Halford called them the future of metal years ago. They are making cosmic futuristic and spiritual music with a fusion of many rock, metal and pop music influences, styles. And choreography is also an important part of their artistic expression so you should absolutely watch their live shows to fully comprehend the essence of Babymetal. But for me the essence of Babymetal is Suzuka's voice. The most important part of their distinctive, unique music. My first album was Load by Metallica, i was 11 back then, i've never thought i would see the day the best metal band ever, heck the best American band ever, or even more so, the best frigging band ever ( for me ) would leave it's throne to another band in my mind. And this is what happened with me. And fun fact, Babymetal openly declares that they think the best metal band ever is Metallica ( they are absolutely right no one comes even close to Metallica in metal, so many classics, so many incredible ballads, unforgiven alone would suffice lol ) and that they love Metallica the most. How cool is that. This statement alone would be enough to steal my heart. ^^ Yet they stole my heart and soul countless times over with performances of Akatsuki, Megitsune, Karate, Headbanger, BMC, Shanti, Shine, From Dusk Till Dawn, The One, Syncopation, Rondo of Nightmare, In The Name Of, Death and some other songs. I don't know how but they are the coolest thing i've ever seen, watched and listened. ^^ They are somehow so badass, so cool and also so endearing, so cute. They are also really humble. There is something so cool about pure beauty and innocence combining with metal music. The songs, the girls and Suzuka's voice are simply pure and simply beautiful. They turned metal and rock music into something innocent, beautiful yet energetic, powerful and elegant too. They look like pioneers from where i stand, Babymetal is a revolution, also a evolutionary step.
They did 10 years of babymetal shows a few months ago. 10 concerts for 10 years. They did a new variation of this song for that show. Yup that's how you start a show. With a nice nod to the metal that came before you.
Sorry to add on but… When you see it live, it all makes sense! The concept is that Su (Born 1997) needs to die as an Idol and be reborn as the Metal Goddess. It’s Epic and very dark. “Not a Cult” lol
And you should absolutely watch their live performances if you dig them. From this album just do Rondo of Nightmare with Mischieves of Gods intro. Kami band and Suzuka are amazing in this one. Watch the live one. ^^ Then do Headbanger live version. There is a version i forgot it's name but it's in Tokyo Dome i guess, just amazing. See for yourself how friggin talented Suzuka, Moa and Yui are at such a young age. She energizes the whole arena at like 14 years old or something. Suzuka is a one in million talent, she is not normal lol, she is one of a kind. To be fair after all i had been exposed to i can say with confidence she is a female Michael Jackson or better. Michael Jackson was magical on stage, and Suzuka is also magical on stage. And they were both child prodigies, they were both in artistic business, music business since their early childhoods. Damn she is better than even him.. She has unparalleled stage presence and dominance Watch Babymetal's early years, 2014-2017 give or take, you will be amazed at how such a young girl simply commanding thousands of people with her stage presence, mesmerising them. She is in total control at the age of 14, 15. Insane talent. I really can't think of any other musician, dancer, artist other than Michael Jackson to match her. Even if she would never reach such heights as him she is that much gifted at least, that i'm sure of after enough exposure to her and Babymetal. And her voice is the most impressive voice i've listened to, the way she sings, conveys emotions, the color of her voice, power of her voice, all these contributed to that conclusion. No one ever made me cry like she did. Or made me happy and care free like she did, not even real life people. :D And i wasn't even understanding a word she was saying, that makes this even more impressive, her ability to channel emotions through her voice, you somehow understand, resonate, it's also because the songwriters of Babymetal are amazing. In short there is not even a comparison for me. I'm in total love. ^^ Also Karate is a must after you finish the first album. Watch the video first if you may, it's really good. And live versions are really good. Karate was the song that hook me up. I was totally blown away, and out of the beauty of the song and the innocence of the girls, it kept me up all night, listening to the song repeatedly and crying out of emotional explosions, joy and happiness. ^^ I said i was blown away by them right? Who cries until morning with a song that came out of the blue? Well i did, and that crying thing while listening to them became routine lol. Though i must add i'm truly passionate by nature, i'm bipolar, i have friggin intense emotions by default. I can experience euphoria at times, a very very elevated state of being full of joy and happiness, a doctor told me that some people uses chemical drugs to have such experiences, so that she implied i was lucky to have these differences naturally, she was trying to lift my spirits up of course because i was in a deep depression at the time. ^^ That euphoria sensation, It tends to become surreal even, the experience. It can also lead to delusions, you can start to live in lala land. :D But you become really creative at such periods. So i'm under medication lol, not to fly too high naturally. :D And Babymetal just fully activates and amplifies every neurological pathways regarding emotions and creativity.. Come to think about it? It's such a trigger for me. They are friggin surreal. :D And the last thing i would say about them is this= creativity. Incredible diversity, various songs with many fusions of metal styles, pop music, electronic music and others. In their last album, they called the album Metal Galaxy and they have three cosmic feeling, space and fantasy themed songs, those three songs are also connected, stage shows, projections and lights, choreography are also reflecting those themes. They have some ethnic, culture oriented songs, celtic, indian. Their dance choreographies are very creative and expressive, Moa effortlessly conveys all the emotions through her graceful movements.. Their vision is beautiful, cosmic scale, encompassing the whole world and they are singing about a journey through space and time to a shining light..😇 Fantasy..cosmic themes, and cosmic perception..incredible, unique, beautiful melodies, amazing metal songs, Suzuka, Moa, Suzuka's voice, Moa's dance, their beauty, elegance..It was inevitable i would fall in love with them. ^^ In short? Babymetal represents everything i love the most. They even have a sweet song about gamers in their last album, i mean how cool is that! I'm a gamer as long as i remember. They are diverse, have incredibly beautiful and broad vision. And Suzuka is a genius, a gem of the world. Moa is also very special. And this might be a suppressed hypomania, to write long, i'm.not sure, may be or might just be me! If so than it's suppressed by medication. But still it's not enough to completely dull it. I've noticed no one ever writes as long as i do. No one lol. But it just comes so naturally to me. I don't even get bored. So if you read it, thank you. I wanted to give some prior knowledge about Babymetal and some personal opinions and feelings about them in case you want to dive in.. There was a theme everyone was mentioning when i first found out about them, in comments sections under their videos..people were saying this over and over again to newcomers; welcome to the fox hole..it will get deeper and deeper, enjoy the ride.. Babymetal is unique and original, you'll discover it yourself if you go down the fox hole. So welcome to THE ONE. ^^
It cool that you want to react to the songs in order . But you really need to react to the live versions of each song . As great as the album tracks are watching them live is a whole magnitude better . Try it you'll see what I mean . And this song BABYMETAL Death can only be experienced live , you are missing so much .
You gotta watch the live death legend 1997 version to understand the meaning behind the song!!!! This version does not provide and explanation, and the live show will blow your freaking mind!!!! 🦊🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼🦊
@@MyMetalHealth Don't worry, there's really no wrong choice for Babymetal, just so are better than others. As others have mentioned, Babymetal is really a live performance group and all their songs are written with the idea that they will be performed live as the best way to experience them. Listening to the album gives you flavor of a song, but the live version is the way it is intended to be seen. Check out Grington300 300 post for the best description of this song.
Going with the studio version is fine. But maybe you could do side-by-side reactions where you compare the studio versions with the ones from their live shows. Basically, almost every song of them is 150% optimized for live performances. This is the only way you can get the whole package that BABYMETAL is. They didn't earn several best live-act awards over the years for nothing!
Thankyou for your reaction👊🏽⚡️ Back in the late a 80’s a band named Metal Church had an instrumental song ‘merciless onslaught’. This song by Babymetal is less merciful.. what a way to start your first studio album👀
Oh no! You did it the wrong way around. :p Live first, then studio version. BabyMetal is a live act. Like, that's the intended form of consumption: Live. The albums (at least, the first two) were basically promo for the live shows and not the other way around. The last album, to me, is more something that can be just listened to, but most BabyMetal songs are designed to have a visual impact. By listening to studio versions first, you're just robbing yourself of the optimal first listen experience. You can only hear a song for the first time once, y'know, and live is the way to go for firsts. 🤘🦊🤘

Dude! You got to see this live Legend of 1997 concert You need to see this live!!!
I miss the old Babymetal the newer stuff isnt great, this song is pretty cool live

🤘🦊🤘
Thankyou for your reaction👊🏽⚡️ Back in the late a 80’s a band named Metal Church had an instrumental song ‘merciless onslaught’. This song by Babymetal is less merciful.. what a way to start your first studio album👀
sub 994 here, thx for the reaction

And yet the whole world knows them instead of you. Who's the joke here? 🤣🤣🤣
Given you have no interest in BABYMETAL and you unsubbed can we take it as read that you will not be trolling the comments of every new BABYMETAL reaction he makes after this?
Oh the self loathing this guy has for himself because of his desire to listen to more and more Babymetal only to erupt in the comment section to assuage his guilt...until the next Babymetal reactor comes along and he gets to do it *All Over Again!!*
LoL...that's a sad laugh for you dude...

Good riddance. We dont need insecured masculinity around.
I subscribed simply to make your little tantrum completely pointless.
Subscribed for more excellent reactions to the best band on the planet right now ... and also making your tantrum doubly pointless (and admit it, you were never subscribed in the first place).
