Thank you for sharing another wonderful technique Dr. Mandell. My Mom always said to never put anything in your ear that is bigger than your small finger. She said to take a washcloth, wrap it once around your small finger and gently rub circular inside your ear. She also said if you get water in your ear turn your head to the side that has the water in it and the water should drain out. She also said after bathing to take your towel when drying off and push your cuticles back on your fingers and toes gently. My Mom was a great teacher in many ways. 😊 🙏 🙌 ❤️ 🫂 🤗 ✝️
Great advice, just wanted to mention that the water you use to rinse shouldn't be hot, it should be lukewarm, hot water can lead to a feeling of dizziness due to the temperature difference between the hot water and the fluid in the cochlea of your inner ear. But also make sure to get all the water out because other wise you can cause a bacterial or fungal infection.

I will still use hydrogen peroxide . Though I filled up both ears with it , using an ear syrine , everyday for 1-2 weeks . Where it completely removed ALL wax and why I got an ear infection , water in the ear . If there were pictures showing the " normal " amount of ear wax to always be present . It has been said , just to put two drops in each ear , daily . To keep it soft , so it will come out naturally , when chewing .

He is right! My local MD did that in his office but he used a dishwashing detergent and warm water and used a small syringe to suck the residue from my ear.
Always great advice Dr as too much wax can make you deaf, I’m seeing some elderly hard of hearing with alway having to repeat our conversation, I heard our ears always produce ear wax and I guess you don’t have to do this soap cleaning every time you shower. Much love with care.
A certain amount of earwax is healthy for the ear canal. It has a slight acidic ph, which helps prevents ear infections. If you have excessive earwax that builds up quickly. The most effective and safest, is visit an audiologist. Though olive oil is good for dry earwax, medical grade is the way to go. Q tips are not safe, they can cause trauma or injury. Leading to a life time of issues.
In ayurveda we use sesemee oil with with 2 garlics ...it entirely cleans earwax, heals Infections and ear pain etc......also doing Bhramri pranayam will help hearing losss

@cinemacritic2715 I know your comment was from 2 years ago but... I went to swimming lessons when I was a kid & always had ear issues, pain, ear infections galore... My mom used to put olive oil in my ears and I'd lie down and the olive oil always helped me. 1 to 2 months ago I had pain and later an ear infection. I put drops of olive oil in my ears and all was fine. Put a couple ounces of olive oil on a small dish and nuke it in the microwave for a few seconds. Then test temperature on your hand, finger so you don't burn yourself and put the drops of olive oil in your ears. Do this for a few days. You should be doing well soon after. I hope it works for you like it has for me! Best wishes! 🌝 I'm editing my comment to include this: Further into the comments someone said something silly about a blow torch. I don't recommend EVER using a blow torch, but, after showering I blow dry my ears too. The heat helps with drying your ears and even helps with the ear infections...
I do this a couple of times a week while in the shower, I use one of the streams of water from the shower head. It rumbles quite loudly, could this cause damage?
Soap in the ear is not a good idea. You will disrupt the PH balance inside the ear canal. Best thing to do is drip some warmed up olive oil in the ear canal, then let it drain. Or spray some sea salt mixed in warm water and let it drain. Do not use soap. Only clean the ear canal if the wax is blocking the canal.
Thank you I will never use a q-tip again for the inside of my ears.Caus exactly what you said happened to me I pushed the wax into the middle ear and couldn't hear out of my right ear for a week

We're really not supposed to remove ear wax from our ears because our body produces it to protect the ear drum from high-pitched sounds. The reason we do it is because after a shower, it feels uncomfortable when the wax is wet.
Not for all people. I use a-tips daily so ear wax never builds up like boogers in your nose. Gross how people can even allow ear wax to build up in your ears in the first place. Have been using q-tips all my life and it feels sooo good to use q-tips and spin them around in circles after a shower and dry them ear canals. Can’t stand to feel any liquid draining from my ear canals. Ear wax has never built up in my ears so this video doesn’t apply to people like me. 😌
Yes this is instantly effective and the only way I remove ear wax. Make sure you thoroughly dry inside the ears afterwards and your head will feel lighter and clearer.
I had such an amount of wax in my ears. I had gotten an ear infection, and I had to go to the ER because the pain got so bad in the middle of the night. So they gave me antibiotics gave me a pain reliever. The next morning I called my home doctor and they had me come in right away and they flushed my ears out. it was so weird but felt so great afterwards. It really reduced the pain quite a bit. They used equal amounts of water and hydrogen peroxide. And use this big metal contraption that looks like a gigantic syringe and just forcefully push the water through my ears. 😊
It could leads to infection if water remains inside for long time . I ruined one of my ear and have developed serious middle ear infection then ultimately undergone surgery . Better not put water inside ear but it differs from person to person .
Yes if water stays in for long time. Tilt your head let the water come out, use hair dryer to dry out or use towel. Most of the cases water comes out within few minutes.
Wow I’ve never heard of that. I am suffering from intense vertigo for the last few weeks and I’m just trying to figure out why it’s suddenly gotten so intense. I know allergies affect the level of vertigo. At least for me. And, anytime I’m not well it gets activated. If you have any secrets to alleviating this please share.

Careful not to gargle with head back .. water in Ear during shower etc. Its crystals in the ear that are unbalanced .. moving around .. whatever you do.. do Not do the Epley Mananuver they show on RUclips channels .. soap and other types of shower gell harden the earwax in the ear... making it in a sense harder. Tho it is tru that if you clean the outer part of your ear with your towel or get that with a qtip ONLY THE OUTER PART entering the ear with a qtip is not safe nor recommended so that part is tru.
It’s mostly likely to push to the ear drum making it much more harder to take out! I remember I went to my ENT and they took a look in my ear they told me that my ear wax was pushed against my ear drum and that it would take a while to take all of it out so it wouldn’t hurt me. I had to revisit as my mother paid for everything single time and I also had to use ear drops it was really a struggle. But it was mostly because my ear canal was pretty small.
A dr at the hospital yesterday said that water and soap and ears should never meet one another! I had never heard this before as my mum always used to say have you washed your ears out while in the bath. ? I wont be visiting the nhs again after yesterday
That won't work. Why do people keep saying that crap when everyone knows when you go to a doctor, they have to physically dig it out with a medical tool.
I had ear wax years ago in one ear and the nurse who took in out told me that when I shower, to let the warm water run into my ears. I do that frequently and have never had a problem since.
Not good if you have sensitive skin that can be irritated by soap. I tried irrigation with distilled water but that didn't work, so I'm just going to add some distilled water in the ears every day until the wax hopefully softens and falls out.
Another good way is dipping cotton balls in hydrogen peroxide and squeezing them gently over your ear for a minute. I did this like 3 times, and my ear was instantly unclogged.

I’m thinking it’s important to be pretty careful with that if you’re doing it yourself. Too easy to get that soap down the canal.

I went to swimming lessons when I was a kid & always had ear issues, pain, ear infections galore...
My mom used to put olive oil in my ears and I'd lie down and the olive oil always helped me.
1 to 2 months ago I had pain and later an ear infection. I put drops of olive oil in my ears and all was fine.
Put a couple ounces of olive oil on a small dish and nuke it in the microwave for a few seconds. Then test temperature on your hand, finger so you don't burn yourself and put the drops of olive oil in your ears.
Do this for a few days.
You should be doing well soon after.

Further into the comments someone said something silly about a blow torch.
I don't recommend EVER using a blow torch, but, after showering I blow dry my ears too. The heat helps with drying your ears and even helps with the ear infections...

I do this a couple of times a week while in the shower, I use one of the streams of water from the shower head. It rumbles quite loudly, could this cause damage?

Soap in the ear is not a good idea. You will disrupt the PH balance inside the ear canal. Best thing to do is drip some warmed up olive oil in the ear canal, then let it drain. Or spray some sea salt mixed in warm water and let it drain. Do not use soap. Only clean the ear canal if the wax is blocking the canal.

Thank you I will never use a q-tip again for the inside of my ears.Caus exactly what you said happened to me I pushed the wax into the middle ear and couldn't hear out of my right ear for a week

We're really not supposed to remove ear wax from our ears because our body produces it to protect the ear drum from high-pitched sounds. The reason we do it is because after a shower, it feels uncomfortable when the wax is wet.
Sometimes there might be a wax build up which affects your hearing so you need to get that removed!

Not for all people. I use a-tips daily so ear wax never builds up like boogers in your nose. Gross how people can even allow ear wax to build up in your ears in the first place. Have been using q-tips all my life and it feels sooo good to use q-tips and spin them around in circles after a shower and dry them ear canals. Can’t stand to feel any liquid draining from my ear canals. Ear wax has never built up in my ears so this video doesn’t apply to people like me. 😌

Go to the doctor and they can easily clean your wax out. It's no problem at all.
You can pop your ears by squeezing your nose and keep your mouth closed and that should help

Yes this is instantly effective and the only way I remove ear wax. Make sure you thoroughly dry inside the ears afterwards and your head will feel lighter and clearer.
If I put water in my ears I get an ear infection. This is because my ears are weirdly shaped :(

I had such an amount of wax in my ears. I had gotten an ear infection, and I had to go to the ER because the pain got so bad in the middle of the night. So they gave me antibiotics gave me a pain reliever. The next morning I called my home doctor and they had me come in right away and they flushed my ears out. it was so weird but felt so great afterwards. It really reduced the pain quite a bit. They used equal amounts of water and hydrogen peroxide. And use this big metal contraption that looks like a gigantic syringe and just forcefully push the water through my ears. 😊

It could leads to infection if water remains inside for long time . I ruined one of my ear and have developed serious middle ear infection then ultimately undergone surgery . Better not put water inside ear but it differs from person to person .
Yes if water stays in for long time. Tilt your head let the water come out, use hair dryer to dry out or use towel. Most of the cases water comes out within few minutes.

Wow I’ve never heard of that. I am suffering from intense vertigo for the last few weeks and I’m just trying to figure out why it’s suddenly gotten so intense. I know allergies affect the level of vertigo. At least for me. And, anytime I’m not well it gets activated. If you have any secrets to alleviating this please share.

soap and other types of shower gell harden the earwax in the ear... making it in a sense harder. Tho it is tru that if you clean the outer part of your ear with your towel or get that with a qtip ONLY THE OUTER PART entering the ear with a qtip is not safe nor recommended so that part is tru.

It’s mostly likely to push to the ear drum making it much more harder to take out! I remember I went to my ENT and they took a look in my ear they told me that my ear wax was pushed against my ear drum and that it would take a while to take all of it out so it wouldn’t hurt me. I had to revisit as my mother paid for everything single time and I also had to use ear drops it was really a struggle. But it was mostly because my ear canal was pretty small.

A dr at the hospital yesterday said that water and soap and ears should never meet one another! I had never heard this before as my mum always used to say have you washed your ears out while in the bath. ? I wont be visiting the nhs again after yesterday

I had ear wax years ago in one ear and the nurse who took in out told me that when I shower, to let the warm water run into my ears. I do that frequently and have never had a problem since.

Not good if you have sensitive skin that can be irritated by soap. I tried irrigation with distilled water but that didn't work, so I'm just going to add some distilled water in the ears every day until the wax hopefully softens and falls out.
Another good way is dipping cotton balls in hydrogen peroxide and squeezing them gently over your ear for a minute. I did this like 3 times, and my ear was instantly unclogged.

I use a bobby pin to remove earwax. It doesn't push wax in. I've never had a problem, but your mileage may vary
