The double salto backward tucked with one and a half twists is being performed more and more often in recent years but no gymnast has officially claimed the skill.
As of August 2022, it has not yet entered the Code of Points nor has it been submitted at a FIG official competition.
However, since 2005, at least 4 gymnasts have performed it... London Phillips, Rebeca Andrade, Shilese Jones & Joscelyn Roberson.

This skill should be name the "get an ACL injury salto". I just don't think it's worth the risk.
Both Jones and Joscelyn land it easily. Unless they are WAY off, there is little risk of injury from the skill. I think Americans are just naturally stronger than alot of the world, and that tends to prevent injury. If any World athlete landed the Amanar the way Raisman did for years, they would have surely blown a knee. She was just strong enough to power through. With that being said, I'm not sure what the rating will be from FIG, and it may not be worth it to try to land this skill when the Silivas is so overvalued and easier to land.
Why is this skill more of a risk than any other 1/2 twisting salto? The Biles, for example.
The real ACL-YEET is the Amanar or will be the TTY and other Twisting Elements on floor, especially if they contain a layout and a forward landing because the risk of twisting into the ground is way higher.
@@katekramer7679 The more twists you are doing while flipping, the greater the chances are of an ALC tear in a frontwards facing element because you have more momentum going sideways. The "Jones" (is that what we're calling it now?) has 1.5 twists, which is more than a Biles I which is only .5 twists. So it is inherently riskier. That's not to say that the Biles 1 isn't risky for that same reason (it is), and that's probably why you don't see any gymnasts doing the Biles 1 either.
@@captainbryce1 Very interesting, thanks. I assumed (incorrectly, clearly) that the actual landing was the only risk for twisting skulls re:injury. It didn't occur to me that the momentum in the air contributed to risk. It makes sense now that you explained it.
The frist performer is Merly de Jesus Brazilian 2003. Thaís Fidelis performer in 2016 or 2017.
Oh wow, you're right. I've never even heard her name before
I really love that you take the effort to make sure to learn the proper pronunciation of these athlete's names.
Shilese said in an interview at the US Classic that she is planning on adding in her 1 1/2 to her routine if she makes it to worlds. The plan is to get the stalder nabieva and the 1 1/2 tuck named after her.
Shilese is going to the Paris world Cup in september, can she not submit the skill there? (If it is competition ready)
@@Enna2102 I guess she could. I’m just telling you what I heard her say. Where did you see that she was going to the Paris cup?
Where'd she say this? It's exciting if true. Did she say it in an interview or tweet it or something?
@@will7693 Gymcastic put the nominative roster up on twitter 4 days ago. Carey, Zeiss, Blakely and Jones will go for USA WAG
As long as she's healthy she'll be on the team. I would love to see it.
As much as I remember, London Phillips is also the 1st performer of the “Biles I” on floor. Girl debuted in the wrong era of gymnastics lol
she wasn’t the first to perform this one though. Brazilian gymnast Merly de Jesus did in like 2003
Andrade's form >>>>>>>
You forgot the brazilian Merly de Jesus. The first gymnast to execute this element recorded on video (2004 Brazilian Nationals). ruclips.net/video/nWrEzyLQw44/видео.html
i LOVE how jocelyn robertson does hers. looks very similar to rebeca’s. i like shilese’s originality and hers is still very good but hers looks a little more labored toward the second half bc of how she twists.
No tumbling looks labored for shilese lol
Jocelyns looks way more labored than Shilese
@@TheTimo5494 labored isn’t really the best word. she clearly has more than enough power but he way that she twists early makes the forward landing look more forced. not necessarily a bad thing and i don’t think it would be a deduction for doing it more as a 1.5 in, i just prefer the way that jocelyn and rebeca do most of the second salto rotating backwards and twist more evenly throughout. jocelyn’s weren’t the most powerful but the rotation looks natural.
@@Zephur0s in terms of power yeah i just meant technique, shilese has more than enough power
@@TheTimo5494 trinity thomas’ biles was very similar, she did the second layout almost entirely forward and it looked cool but also harder and more laborious.
The first gymnast to perform this skill was Merly Jesus (BRA) in 2004
I'm really hoping that Shi competes it and her stalder Nabieva at the Paris World Cup and then goes back to Silivas for worlds
Rebeca is my favorite! She is the moment 👏🏽👏🏽
Agree, she had the prettiest one!
The slowed rotation seems to favor low landings, and the form is a little all over the place on the last 1/2 turn. Depending on the rating, it probably won't be worth the risk or the likely deductions.
Yeah I imagine it's a skill somebody will get named then no longer perform.
Since so many gymnasts have performed this skill for MANY years now, no one should be able to have it named after them. The original idea of having a skill named you was that you actually created the skill: the Tsukahara, Tkatchev, etc. Then it morphed into whoever competed the skill first in a international competition. Well, that was done years ago with this skill, so it would be disingenuous at best, and dishonest at worst for any gymnast to try to claim it as “their” skill now.
Its likely she’ll do it and the bars skill at the paris World Cup in September. It’s safer to do it there seeing as it’s not a huge competition like worlds but it’ll still get named after her if it’s done successfully.
merly de jesus one of the greatest potentials of the brazilian gymnast performed this one in 2003/4 was boycotted by the Brazilian federation, out of pure xenophobia
I expect Shilese will compete this skill at Paris World Cup and get it named finally.
Did it get named?
Merly de Jesus did in 2004
Just a heads-up. Merly de Jesus of Brazil competed this skill successfully in 2003/2004.

Rebecas is sooo clean.
The chances of Joscelyn making a world cup are next to none.
What’s harder? A Silivas or a “Jones”? need opinions
silivas looks more easier to learn, the 1 1/2 looks more harder to execute, this blind landing is sick
Jones seems to be harder to stick
“Jones” is harder to get a better score (difficulty - execution deductions) because of the forward landing.
Would be amazing if rebecca could upgrade and do full step out 1 1/2 that would not only get it named after her, go viral but also it would be an amazing upgrade
I don't think she should risk it. The last thing we want is her triggering up old injuries
@@murasakino101 very good point would be amazing to see but I do think that other people are more likely to earn the skill
here is Merly de Jesus, a gymnast from Brazil doing it at Brazilian Nationals back into 2004, so she's the First to do it!
ruclips.net/video/nWrEzyLQw44/видео.html
I think one and half twist tuck has not named after employee skills on Floor Exercise Routine.
as long as its rating remais at F everybody and their momma will prefer to do a double straight instead.
It's only an F? Not even fully worth it then since you can just do a double lo for the same value
Shiles has been doing it for years and she got it named in the jo code of points is what she said in an interview.
Maybe if I did this in the morning I’d wake up in a better mood? Nah- I will stick to my coffee
Actually another brazilian gymnast called Merly de Jesus did this salto in 2004 at a National Championship in Brazil.
the silvas looks easier
I thought that it was the Jones in the junior elite code cause she did it at junior international meets?
Will it be an F or a G? And how do they judge it in National competitions if it’s not in the code?
I love both Jones and Roberson but let’s be real Roberson had a lot of form errors and I think that may have cost her the team. I know she’s got the power and talent - it’s just not meant to be hers.
I think she just lacks in execution. Overtime she’ll get better
Not meant to be hers? That’s not how the sport works, it’s first come first serve. And Joscelyn’s 1.5 is cleaner than Shilese’s, who has split legs in it.
Roberson may get her time. There’s loads of potential. Don’t count her out just yet
I think so :)
She didnt make it because she's different. She's the only one with a different body type and the only one who dares compete original skills. Everybody shouts 'hurray' but then deny her a team place.
I would like to know how did they calculate the d score if its not in the code?
Skills are given provisional ratings. Coaches also contact the FIG/judges beforehand and submit videos & descriptions of the skill
Teve uma brasileira que executou em 2003 eu acho
Roberson had the cleanest form imo
The fact that London Phillips did this AND THE BILES in 2005 yet was never credited with either is so annoying
The Mukhina half out. That’s what I call it
Rebeca 😍
I’d love to see Jocelyn go farther: make the team, compete in the Olympics, etc. Some may take this the wrong way…..But I like the fact that she’s a bigger girl, ive never seen a white elite female gymnast with meat on her bones in my whole life (and I’ve been watching competitions for years). The fact that gymnasts are very much encouraged to be skinny and develop eating disorders is so sickening. I get it though (I was a gymnast myself for 12 years years back), the theory is if your smaller, the faster you can move. But that shouldn’t be encouraged anymore. I’d love to see more gymnasts who don’t give a crap about that and being a skinny gymnast shouldn’t matter anyhow. It’s all about the skills, not weight. We should be embracing more diversity with body shape in gymnastics as well as other sports too like figure skating.
Shilese did that skill first as a junior. Either 2014 or 2015
Rebeca devia fazer só pra homologar kkkkkk
Esse elemento valeria quando no código? Chuto q no máximo um E ou F. Acho q n vale o risco.
@Albafica_Piscis pq ela estouro o joelho três vezes
@@felipeanacleto3404 valeria G
Wouldn’t just a Silivas be easier to perform?
I want too see a Perfect 10 in the Summer Olympic Games
And I want to ride a unicorn through a cloud of marshmallows but I don’t think either is ever gonna happen 😂💕
@@dansingonmyown Maybe it was you imagination
Not going to happen. That scoring system is no longer used in elite gymnastics; but college gymnastics use it.
Philips and Andrade are doing a double back with 1.5 whereas Jones and Roberson are doing a full in, Arabian out
Why should it be named after anybody!? Just call it what it is.
I thought it was called the andrade
Is anyone else over Biles being the goat yes she was during there furious 5 or whatev tf it was called but there are so many gymnasts from the 80’s till now who are just as good in there own unique ways I’m just over ppl going bonkers for her
Why is it that when Simone is mentioned, it's always in a nasty, almost angry, way? She IS the GOAT of gymnastics, and the best in the game to have come before her, including Mary Lou Reton, Dominique Dawes, Nastia Luikin, and others, acknowledge that. Instead of being "over her," why not just be grateful that she changed, and left an incredible mark on, the sport. She has 4 moves named for her, has 5 World Championships, 7 Olympic medals, which are part of the other 30 medals she has earned, and is the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport. This video wasn't even about her, but it's almost always expected that someone will always slide a dig at her as if she has done something wrong. All she did was push the envelope, and push herself, to perform more difficult skills. In other words, she did exactly what's expected; to perform more difficult skills. You have a right to your opinions, but don't bring her into a conversation that isn't about her just to criticize her just because you don't like the attention her accomplishments have brought her. She should be celebrated for those contributions and the fact that she uses her platform to help others in her sport. You don't have to like, nor approve of her, but you need to respect her for her contributions to the sport, even when she and the other girls were left unprotected and vulnerable by those they thought they could depend on to protect them. To summarize, you cannot change, nor take away, her accomplishments. You cannot take away her championships, medals, nor the four moves named after her. In other words, get over it. Her legacy in gymnastics is set, and your personal feelings aren't going to change that. Get over it.
