Shows that if we genetically modify that beetle imagine cave in in real life but in truth those beetles in the movies were considered tame but then again when masive they could do dammage
If that flew in your face that beetle could kill you with blunt force trauma I mean It must be a heavy beetle like it probably weights like 100grams hittimg you in.the face
Wow the comments here are just unbelievable. This beetle is amazing. I have a 15cm specimen of Titanus framed up on my wall and it is a prize possession of mine. If you don't like it, then why are you watching it? It is downright awesome.
As a former collector people place too much emphasis on dead dried specimens for sale when the true value of these magnificent beetles lies in their biological processes. We don't even know what the larvae/grubs even look like or how long they take from egg to maturity? Up until relatively recent females were unknown.
This is Frank Hovore, unfortunately he passed away in 2006. If you have more questions you can contact me, I was there at the time working for a year in French Guayana rainforest.
i have a terrifying fear of bugs. if that beetle was in my home, i would not kill nor would i sleep or touch it for a million dollars. nobody in my family is more scared of bugs than me.
It is in the same family as the palo verde beetle (Cerambycidae) but they are different species. This is a titan beetle (Titanus giganteus), one of the largest beetles in the world. Palo verde beetles (Derobrachus hovorei) look similar but they are much smaller and more common.
Oh look a huge bad ass beetle! It looks feisty, lets pick it up! *picks up beetle* Now its pissed! Look how angry it is! Oh It really want to sink those mandibles in me. Lets have a closer look! *leans closer* --------------------------------- *shrugs* Us humans . . .
Do you know who the guy is catching the beetle? Or what program this is from? I'm planning a project to go an study the titan beetle in the Amazon and I'm trying to get all the contacts and info I can!
My friend has one ,eventhough not specifically this one but close enough, their wing muscles produce extra heat after only few seconds of flight. Beetle's back was as hot as a smartphone that runs in full capacity.
my sister saw a bug in her back yard that literally filled a dishpan. she had it in her yard for her dog to drink. that would be about 18 inches by 12 inches!! I still cannot find out what the heck it was. Told her she should have called the entamology(sp) dept at local university for study. souhern Nevada. anyone have ideas??
"He's ripping my flesh, hahaha ..."

If that flew towards my face, i have a heart attack and die.

It would likely eat your heart out before you even knew it was there

This is not a bug! This is what u call a monster from outer space!
Nope it's an insect you dumbass
"It's... ripping my flesh." Titan Beetle's an absolute monster. I'm curious about how its body processes oxygen.
Give me just 11% of your courage! Here I am, scared of cockroaches.
I love how we are all just ignoring the fact he's walking around with bugs overing his shirt ...

The new beetles are so much bigger than the older model.

生きたタイタンオオウスバカミキリの動画見れて感動しました!
You know, i keep trying to get over my fear of giant bugs.... And the more i look at them, the more scared i get. like... *shudders*
That is disturbingly big I have no fear of bugs but this is crazy
I love this guy 0:59
I saw one of those while in the amazon many years ago.. the size was really impressive for a beetle.
Saw one yesterday in Bueno Brandao, Minas Gerais, far away from the amazonas area...
a super sized beetle, makes the one I found look like an ant up to that one
0:13 This marks a grave event in the history of the Titanus line
This is probably the greatest video in the entire everything
a beetle the size of a fucking kitten, christ
Bear Grils would eat a stone brick if you draw some eyes on it!
Holy crap... I've seen a few of these types of beetles dead here in Mesa, AZ but not nearly as big. Didn't realize they grew this large.
i have a terrifying fear of bugs. if that beetle was in my home, i would not kill nor would i sleep or touch it for a million dollars. nobody in my family is more scared of bugs than me.
Are you implying that he picked it up with his balls? That kind of manliness would put Mr. Norris to shame.
You had me at "He's ripping my flesh"
Holy crap when I look at that thing I get chills 4 dayz
animal crossing, irl
That "hellaw!" at 0:13 made me lol XD
"It's ripping my flesh XD"
Did any one else see the little but crawling on the guy with the red shirt?
Who ever finds that preserve it and maybe sell it it is verrrrrrrry rare
Jesus, that face, more like the HR Giger beetle.
I'd be sleeping in an airtight tupperware container with an oxygen tank if I lived there.
*faints..

Us humans . . .
I bet that insect can snap a tarantula in half .
Where was this clip taken? I could recognize Sir David Attenborough's voice from the narration.
I thought beetles were cold-blooded, unlike humans...
Strange but I'm still more scared of a house cockroach than this giant bug ..
Fuck that *walks off*
*starts running frantically off into the distance* NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPe NOpe Nope nope *is gone*

full of vitamins and minerals.
KILL IT. KILL IT WITH FIRE. lol why does that remind me of attack on titan?
you will not need a macro lens to photograph this beetle O.O
Ok, where is my frying pan?
i bet he did or would enjoy doing so. he is not actually surviving if a crew films him. he would like eating it because he would be paid for it
Are normal hobbies any less mundane? This is pretty sweet imo
So the larvae would be even bigger and probably more nasty???
I came here because all time ten
I watched this on TV ages ago...
PiratePorkchop do you know what its called?
weaver:prology
🤣 demon bug
holy fuck....so many bugs o.0
Congratulations to the collectors, and thanks for sharing.
its horrific and yes i would run a mile screaming like a girle if ever I saw one
What David Attenborough series is this from?
What did that have to do with soup?
Крутой жучище 💪
Hold one wait a minute... did that guy just call the Titan beetle 'Tight Anus'?
An entomologist’s paradise!
He's talking about how warm it is, anybody knowing what warmth he's talking about ? How hot is that thing ?
My friend has one ,eventhough not specifically this one but close enough, their wing muscles produce extra heat after only few seconds of flight. Beetle's back was as hot as a smartphone that runs in full capacity.
I forgot about that question hehe, thanks for the reference! :)

if there is one species in that area it is probably likely more like this one are close by.

This is a late comment, but maybe it was a tarantula?
Dude, take a chill. I love all living things.... except humans.

ALL I CAN SAY RIGHT NOW IS TITANUS!
Probably can tear flesh from the human body with ease

What is the Titan Beetle's diet?
