Thanks for the candor, brother. I'm a few years ahead of you. I have my own struggles even though I still live in the land of my birth. I think we'll both get though it and be better on the other side.

Don't worry about it, came with nothing and leave with nothing. Live a peaceful and healthy life, be happy as long as you have no problem with living expenses. Don't expect anything then you won't be disappointed. Life is just a test. Remember what I said here, if you don't understand this wisdom now then remind yourself this when you're are stuck. From someone who is much older and have much worse life experience than you. 😊

"All accumulations end in dispersion. All meetings end in separation & All birth ends in ...death". Live like the animals and nature :savor the moments of serenity and peace as it will all end too soon.

An interesting new chapter is about to open for you John, but that doesn't mean leaving the old routines and rituals behind is easy. Ease into your new life rather than making any changes too extreme and too fast. When you get a chance, few weeks of warm sunshine will work wonders for you!☀️

No purpose and straight direction will always make you fell lost. What say that you dont already archive the foals of your 20s and now you need to get new ones. Thats where I am. Im finding new goals. Take care of my children and learn new skills. Whats only missing is that if i could live in China.

This question is the most asked in human history, but is also the rarest one to be solved. It isn't because it's hard, but probably because we've been asking the wrong question all along. Meaning, if you want to know who you are, first you have to ask why do we even ask this very question, and how should we look for an answer if we have to. The time when most people were asking about who they are was when they don't have a goal in their life anymore, that's usually the starting point. But the thing is , for most of them, they'll immediately stop questioning the moment they found their new goal. Thus, for them, the goal of questioning is never about the answer itself, it only serves as a signal for them to start looking for new stuff. Instead of doing that, a different approach will be questioning the question itself:
    What defines who I am?
What elements are capable of determining that?
Who told me that I have to be happy?
    What is happy?
    What can define I'm happy?
If I don't know who I'm, then what else I also don't know?
If I don't even know the things defining who I am, then how can I even use them to define myself?
    ...
In the end, you'll see that the ME is not the problem anymore, but the whole WORLD include ME is the problem. And the question will become how can the world even exist, because only through that existence, the ME can exist.
    ...
Because the question of who I'm is philosophical in nature, the only way you can answer that is through philosophical means. If you are serious about looking for an answer, instead of just a means to get through midlife crisis, then I guess this could be the approach you can take to start.

Truth is you are no one, when you are gone no one will care.
Do whatever you want, when you want, however you want.
Life is meaningless, chasing meaningfulness within meaningless is akin to chasing a ghost

What are you waiting for, exactly? Seems like it's time to start that new chapter, but you're hesitant about turning the page. Don't be afraid, just do it. Change can be a scary thing, but it's so worth it.

Who am I to offer you advice over the net, but..see you’re a dad, perhaps she can give you one aspect of your purpose in life, to help you moore so to speak. Be the dad so she can grow up to be as purposeful and wonderful person she can be. That’s our legacy at the most fundamental level, be a good father.

Socrates said that, "the unexamined life is not worth living". But in your case I recommend less navel-gazing and more travel. You have achieved great things in your life already, but I sense in you the need to once again leave your comfort zone.
