Mine is in limp mode, abs ring needs changing. Did your car make strange noise from the rear whilst in limp mode, bit like a grinding diff or wheel bearing?
@@jamesmacdonald3090it could be a wheel bearing or even something lodged between brake disk and deflector. I hope it will be easy fix. I wish you all the best with it
What I found was the rear cv axles , the reflectors on them were rusty and the sensors wouldn't pick up through the rust changed the axles and problem over
That would work for sure, because by changing axles you're changing tone rings as well as they are pressed onto CV knuckle. In my case I didn't want to increase the cost by buying new axles. Bottom line, yes , changing the axles will definitely sort the issue All the best 👍🙂
Have you cleared codes with obd diagnostic tool? You'll have to run full diagnostic on abs system. There is probably a failure elswhere as well. There are four wheel sensors and abs tone rings, esp module under central console, rpm sensor, steering wheel positioning sensor and more plus all the harnesses and connectors. Try to run live data for individual sensors to try to spot anomaly I hope it helps All the best👍
I have this problem with my car in limp mode. Abs light was on and code P0501 . Change my tone rings , bearing and hub assembly and wheel speed sensors. My car is still in limp mode … no codes are showing right now. Any idea what else it could be?
Hi, it is strange to still be in limp mode after old codes were cleared and no new codes showing. Did you try to read live data, such as speed of each wheel compared to vehicle speed
@@nick-ip6le you might be too get the car to someone who can read transmission codes. Transmission ecu uses wheel speed sensors to determine vehicle speed, so tone rings and wheel speed sensors have to be good. Also there are sensors on transmission box that could be faulty but not every obd reader can pick that up
I'm not sure why your fuel gauge won't work. Your might have wiring issue. There is a possibility that rear wheel sensors cabling and fuel tank cabling are in same wiring harness
I have the traction light and esp light but no ABS light and will it be still be the sensor and why is the engine light and flashing when I turn the ignition on
Sounds same. Plug in obd reader check for codes and run life data stream on wheel speeds. The wheel that is showing 0mph speed has faulty sensor or tone ring. All the best 👍
This version does not have ABS option. Make sure to order version which has ABS option. The scanner used in the video is elite version which is different from the one shown in the link.
@@LivingAbyss12 thank you for highlighting the error. I've just corrected the link for version with abs. I'm not sure how wrong link was posted. Thank you again👍
Thank you sir, great how to video
Thank you👍🙂
Well done, thank you for explaining how the ecu could think 1 wheel isn't turning with a bad sensor.
Thanks
All the best 👍
That is absolutely insane that a bad wheel sensor can cause the car to go into limp mode. That just blows my mind.
I was surprised as well
I almost fucking passed out thinking it was my transmission 😂
Thank God for the internet
@@808antgwap6 thanks God it's only a sensor😃
I been trying to fix my wheel speed sensor can’t get the light to go off and my car randomly goes into limp mode
I have codes for both front wheel speed sensor circuit. no abs light . But i got limp mode on Gmc envoy 2004?
Check wiring, it's odd that both front wheel sensors would fail in same time, but it's not excluded to be sensors

No it didn't, no noise whatsoever
@@mrfxr1695 Bugger! Probably got an issue with the diff? Long term project just got longer! Ta mucho.

Hi - thank you for the video, changed the sensor. All codes are gone but the three lights are still on. Any ideas? Thank you for your help

Tone ring? That parts disintegrates after some years.
The tone ring has a magnetic strip that spins and allows the sensors to track wheel speed.
I have issues with round pegs in square holes too
🤣😂 sometimes you just have to hammer it in

Could be an axle or your gas paddle
Anyone figure this out? Mine is doing the same thing.

Could be ur wiring. On the 5 volts reference
My fuel gauge won't move either! This is the same thing I'm going through right now! Gonna try your fix, and come back and comment if it works or not.

Nice one. Git the same issue can you help to fix. I am in london
Unfortunately, I can't physically help you with that. You might have to find a reputable local mechanic

What is that sensor cable called
It is abs sensor, it is different for each wheel
I have the traction light and esp light but no ABS light and will it be still be the sensor and why is the engine light and flashing when I turn the ignition on
You'll have to run diagnostics first, there are few more sensors around the car that are part of that system
Mine too
Did Yhu figure it out
Why are you so rough with the new sensor!? Those things are very fragile
They're study enough. I might look rough 😉
My csr went Into limp mode for a month untill I reset the throttle body. Took me 10 seconds
I'm glad you have sorted it 👍
How did you rest it

Where can I get that sensor
I've got mine of eBay, it still works fine
Amazon had them
Two transmissions later i find this video lol
Wait, what, you respected gearbox twice, 😯 I feel your pain
Gonna go argue with mechanic today just went into limp mode again.
