- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Wolverhampton on the West Coast Main Line where services are seen by West Midlands Trains in the brands of West Midlands Railway and London North Western Railway, CrossCountry, Transport for Wales and Virgin Trains.
Wolverhampton had some amazing variety and frequent trains, the station has one of the most interesting backdrops when you look from South to North. The station had a lot of delays happening at one stage as this station is notorious for congestion and things can mess up quickly because of it which is what happened here. The station has recently changed management hence the thumbnail being different, Virgin Trains used to manage this station but not anymore. This has to be one of my favourite stations in the West Midlands, it has so much to it, it's amazing! Definitely worth the visit.

Great video! 19:05 a bit of a race there for the answer: Smethwick Galton Bridge.
Nice station
The noise at the beginning is like being at Cheltenham spa
Great video !
Thanks! 😀
Awesome Video Bud :)
Thanks Rob!
Awesome video
Thank you! 😀
Great vid Kieran, absolutely smashing 😂 (I’m trying to fit in with everyone else)
Hahaha glad you enjoyed mate. 😀
Very good Kieran! Fabulous work! Could you maybe trainspot at Stafford or St. Pancras (Thameslink lines) or moor street, please?
Thank you! I've done all of those previously.
The 2 stops are Smethwick Galton Bridge and Coseley. Good video BTW.
That's correct! Also glad you enjoyed the video. 😀
I noticed that trains have only one headlight on, does anyone know why?
lol 150284 and 150285 have recieved corrosion repair (lower bodyside metal replaced) and repaint into mock "new" ex-ATW livery without stripes, along with PRM mods! those were the "retro" liveried ones from your videos last year!
Indeed, I saw various posts about it. Lots of changes on the way as you've so well described. 😂
KTV Videos right :-P
33:22 Sandwell and Dudley, Smethwick Galton Bridge
Smethwick Galton Bridge is correct but not Sandwell & Dudley.
Transport for Wales, I'm guessing?
Please do more West Midlands stations like these, like Telford Central?
I may consider it.
great film thoroughly enjoyed watching, could you tell me where you will be and when on May 18th?, it's the only day i'm free, thumbs up from me mate
Thanks Thomas! May 18th is the day I land so I haven't quite planned the stations with dates yet, I shall reply to this comment with details soon. 😊
Can I get from platform 4 to platform 3 in under 7 minutes
It seems like Wolverhampton has 6 platforms but platform 6 never gets used do you know why Kieran ?
I don't think it's ever used now mate.
I think it gets used by terminating Transport for Wales services from Shrewsbury on Sunday
Wheres the 6th one?
I hope you didn't travel during Storm Doris, Beast From The East, Storm Emma, Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis?
I thought the wallsall service was operated by a class 323 not a class 350
The service can see both mate.
I thought they stopped the class 350
Monday to Friday + Sunday its operated by a class 350. Saturdays are 323s.
