I miss this Deicide, Glenn in armor thrashing around like a berzerker, the Hoffman brothers just ripping...today's Deicide is a shadow of its former self.
They're doing the Amon thing, Eric is planning a N. American tour, last week or so he was looking for a drummer , the setlist is ful of old Deicide, even Legion-era songs so I'm really hoping they hit the road.
Is it me or Steve s a fucking machine? His stamina and drumming isnt that of mere mortals. I know there are better and more intrincate performers on this genre, but Steve s really a weapon behind the kit. Sick drummer all the way.
I think this is the best guitar tone I've heard from any of Deicide's concerts I've seen, RUclips or live. It doesn't sound like the midrange was completely guillotined, though still scooped to some degree. Much better than the tone in the Nottingham video a few years later.
YES! all the other live shows have that metal zone pedal tone. they can get away with the bedroom tone to some degree on record but live it’s a no go. in fact, i would go so far as to say it’s almost close to morbid angel tone.
@@fmbighair Huh? Close to Morbid Angel tone? Morbid Angel is all mids brother, JCM 900 (bright midrange heavy amp) boosted with a Proco RAT (midrange heavy drive pedal), no clue what you're talking about lol.

@Pbperez 210 Long story short...but back in 2004 there was a huge fallout between Glen snd Steve with the Hoffmans over the band being paid by Earache for Scars of the Crucifix. From my understanding Glen snd Steve wrote a majority of the album and since Earache pays band members based on who writes what, the Hoffmans got paid very little for that album and raised hell about it (supposedly they didn't read Earache's contract), so much that they apparently took it to court in which Glen and Steve won. After that Brian and Eric left and have kept their distance since. I'm sure both sides have arguments but I don't know the whole story.
Mega Man Rush Jet Renegade its not really possible that a label would pay a band based on who wrote what, it’s more possible the band wasn’t paid anything because what the label spent to record and press the albums wasn’t paid back yet. The owner of earache does video responses on Instagram you should ask him, I’m sure he won’t know what this “members who wrote more getting paid more” stuff is all about
I saw Amen around this time (the gig their DVD was shot at) and they were playing Satyricon and Necrophagia before they came on. Was a weird time to be into extreme metal.
Their Insineratehymn period was very something else! That Hoffman sound with the D-tuning. it sounds so heavy, eery and satanic at the same time! It is like they were really talking to the Devil himself! (I am not a Satanist BTW).
@@krempaskyy7771 Of course! Trust me, it sounds so good! Even for their album, Insineratehymn! Such a great one along with Gateways to Annihilation released in the same year, 2000.

@Lucian Grayson yea, been watching on KaldroStream for since november myself :D
I understand they were a problem. But I do miss the twin chainsaw sound attack of the Hoffman Brothers.

Thing is that people get older, you start to feel silly doing stuff like that. Band still sounds great. He' 49 now, not 33 like he is here.
He's probably got arthritis in his neck and upper back too like Tom Araya from all of the head banging.
today is like a tribute band to themself
I saw Deicide play @ L'Amour's Club in Brooklyn NY .... the bill was Behemoth Amon Amarth & Deicide... what a fucking show that was....
