Just a heads up when I get to step 4 we’re you add fish there’s no fish to add even when I try and search for one. And it won’t let me go to step 5 unless I complete step 4 I assume that’s by design though. I look forward to building my tank once I can get past step 4 .

Dude I think you should introduce this app and the hobby to veteran programs. Me and you have talked before about being former Marines and I’m sure we both know veterans that have had or still struggle with transitioning to civilian life, and the struggles of PTSD. I think that this hobby gives someone a purpose by being responsible of living creatures, even if it’s just fish plants and other organisms, and I believe it would be rewarding for anyone, especially veterans, to see their little ecosystem grow and gain a sense of purpose. Besides, watching a fish tank is like watching a fire. Something about it is very relaxing. Just an idea bro, keep doing the good work that you do!

Kev reach out to those companies that have Bluetooth equipment so you can centralize the lights and heater (yes there’s a Bluetooth heater now), filter and power head. You would DOMINATE the market for apps. Good luck my friend
Also: when in the app and adding “your tank” to the list when you have more than 9 occupants listed then you are unable to scroll down on the iOS systems.

I've kept a tank for nearly 45 years. I've killed many fish(really sorry for all of that)over those years because I just didn't know. Tammy and I started our current tank a year ago and I followed YOUR guides every step of the way. Seachem has a new customer(Tidal 55 and we use their chemicals) and Tammy and I are enjoying our crystal clear 25gallon rimless cube overstocked(and probably overfed like you say!)58 assorted Tetras. Your channel is where I go to get answers. Your explanation of the nitrogen cycle has made me feel like a chemist when I explain it to Tammy!!!! Thank you from our fish and from Tammy and I.
58 tetra in a 25 gallon is heartbreaking sorry. They aren't African cichlids where u want that overstocked tank to relieve aggression in males. What you have there is criminal sorry to say. Give those fish a better fish and upgrade to a 65G for the very least man. Clear water and good parameters don't mean ur fish are thriving either. They're simply surviving!

I got a look on the app. It shows big potential to be a very useful tool for me as second time beginner 😅. Might be beneficial to allow inserting the volume of the tank in liters as well as gallons, I had to convert via Google and that disrupt proces a bit. Also, beginners might not remember names of species they have in tanks, maybe a picture by species name on the scroll list? I'll keep testing, but so far - great job!

I’d love to see more species added. For example, neon tetras, rummy nose tetras, dwarf gouramis. Also, my plates bred (fish store said they gave me 3 males, but one was female, so now I have 10 babies that survived. Now I need a bigger tank lol. I’ve only had a tank for a few months now but I guess they like it.

About to start a tank… I want live plants only… so I was going to start the cycle with them for approximately 2 weeks… obviously I will test the water prior to adding fish… is this an ideal way of obtaining proper ph/nitrate balance ?
I’d love to see a “caution” when you enter certain fish as potential tank mates.
“Angelfish + neon tetra” *CAUTION* Angelfish may predate on neon tetra at a mature age.
Something like that would be useful… not a “don’t do it” but a “be prepared”

I think you should add a feature where you can share your tank information with your friends or partners you share the first tank with. I would also like to see more water parameters added for each tank so we can keep track of everything. Otherwise it’s a great app!!

Hi man big fan of your videos, I’m new to the hobby had my tank running 2 weeks now. I have 6 neon tetras and 3 Corys. I hope you can help me out here as no matter what I do I can’t get the clear water it’s still so cloudy! I’ve tested my ammonia and it’s tested 0 and also nitrate test all good. I’ve got a air filter with different directional flows and also a airstone setup at the other side of the tank, I’m doing water changes every other day and my water is still cloudy what would you recommend?
Water changing that often could be your problem. You're creating mini bacterial blooms. But there could be many other issues causing the cloudiness.

Hey kev! Trying to put a tank in that I’m setting up soon but there’s not a broad selection of fish species. Any idea when this will be updated?
We had to start with the most common but more species will be added everyday! I will announce every time we have an update 😊 (But turning on your apps auto update feature would be best)
I was literally think ab this the other day , try adding store locations , but local stores , try reaching out to partner with stores to advertise their stores location for the use of the app

Do you have any tips on switching to a new filter? I have an old Fluval 206 and it's really on its last legs. I have a new Fluval 407 coming on Monday and I'm not sure the best way to transition them over? I've got lots of Matrix media currently and the sponges... I guess I just chuck the matrix in the new filter, but all the sponges will be too small to just move from my old filter to the new one... I don't want to lose all my bacteria. Cheers man.
Dont worry about the sponges, the majority of your BB is in the media. Swap the media while keeping it wet and you'll be fine. Im sure you'll have room to add more media in the upgraded filter so adding some Seachem Stability will help seed the new media 😊

Just downloaded! I'd say I'd like to see snails and shrimp on the inhabitants list. I am doing a small tank with just neocaridina shrimp along side my 29 gal tank that just cycled so I haven't put anything in it yet except a few nerite snails.

Kev, my fish keeps spitting out food. I pretty sure it’s quality food. I think they grab food out of competition but, are already full. I might be over feeding bc some fish are not eating much (staying in the top corner). Do you think they spitting out due to over feeding? What do I do about the one in the corner? They are all cichlids.

Kev for whatever reason it won't allow me to add a photo from my gallery to the track my exsisting tank 😅 idk maybe it's an issue on my end the camera as in take a picture now working but not a recent picture from my gallery for whatever reason. What an amazing idea ❤ well it basically doesn't work at all I can't select fish in the tank builder on top of the adding exsisting tank. Definitely needs work. No fish even common ones show up when I search them I am on android newer phone so should be compatible.

Would this app be ok to download for someone who doesn't have any fish yet, but has purchased everything else and knows what fish they will be getting? I'm in the process of moving in a few months and did not want to tear it down and put it back up after hardly getting it fully cycled.
Absolutely! It can help with ideas on tank setups and different fish combinations before you decide on what to add to your tank 😁

So much still missing from the app I can't even use it I can't upload pics of my tank either way it "let's" you and no panda garra or paleatus corys which are common corys only the one pygmy type on there. No german blue rams from my other tank. But atleast their are guppies which I do have. 😅 love the idea though lots of work to go ❤ no golden wonder killifish either so for me it's useless still at this time 😅😅 keep it up please!❤
There's no way we could have every species all at once but the plan is to continuously keep adding more species with every update. 😉 Stick with it bro, we plan to make it the BEST!
My measurements show 96 gallons on the app but my tank is 75. I can't use Gallery to submit my tank pic. I type in Discuss for my tank and can't go any farther on the app.

the app needs more species options, im looking for the "ray finned fish" or the "Polypteridae" option for my bichirs but its not there

Hi, a software developer here. I downloaded the app, joined beta but it seems buggy. I am getting errors on the starters section & on the home section something is loadings forever with a permission error. Also signin with google does not seem to work. But overall its a great start. I am working for a software company & there is no such a thing as a launch without bugs, so dont get discouraged about it. Keep great stuff coming!

@KaveManAquatics I just noticed the tank size calculator, if not accurate. I added the dimensions for aqueons 29 gallon tank (30.25" x 12.5" x 18.75) & I got 31 gallons as the results.
I tried the app last night (Jan 2024) amd there were a few problems. It wasnt letting me add my compatible fish and plants. I had trouble setting up tank maintenance reminders, and the FAQ was not working (i saw the Qs, but xould not see the answers). I wish this was a better working app bc i could use it!
Nothing to worry about! These bugs have been noted since the apps initial release and are already fixed in the new update. It's being tested right now and the update will be released next week. (week of 1/29) Keep an eye out for the update and I look forward to hearing your feedback again after that 😁💪

Very little at the moment. But shrimp will be added in future updates! It has already been requested 😊💪
I am curious as to how it calculates how many fish is too many. It tells me that 20ml mollies, and 7 neon tetras is too many for a 55g when its not

Does it have more than 69 livestock options? Because I only saw 69 options and it doesn't have apistogramma cacatuoides.
We havent added all the species in the world yet, no. But we plan to add more with every update! 😊
I guess this is for the U.S. market only? Since there are only freedom units :D So little species available so far and the UI/UX is unintuitive and like carved out with an axe so I guess this isn't even in the beta stage, more like early alpha?

@@KaveManAquatics It's just feedback. The basic concept is of course great but since this was released so very early in the development stage, I had to ask what am I looking at? I do look things from devops point of view since I do UI/UX stuff as part of my work.
I suggest more depth and smoothness to the UI. UX wise think of the relations between different segments and how humans usually relate to things, how they assume things are connected and what it feels like to interact with the software. As of now, it feels like an engineer has made the app, not a human. This is why coders and interface architechts are usually two different breed.
And as you operate on global platforms, do add metric/imperial setting. This will add to your focusgroup.
