From 2022, the ranged item rework means that you should always use an odium, dfward, or twisted buckler when ranging with a crossbow; they give ranged strength and aren't terribly expensive.
This and the melee guide are the two most useful guides I've found - video or otherwise - in helping me strengthen my account and ability to progress in OSRS. I love how clear and accessible these videos are, thank you so much. Can't wait for the mage variant, so I can gear up for all situations.
A few things to add; • Blessed coif is a +2 ranged attack bonus over an Archer helm with no quest requirements and under 100k gp. • Salve amulet (ei) is a great option for undead monsters.

I honestly think armadyl armor is super underestimated. People get this idea that it doesn't matter at all because they learn as a new player they shouldn't buy it first (which is true), but I've honestly heard noobs say they don't need it at all! First that's just not how the game works, you always progress. Second, armadyl''s defensive bonuses are very useful. I love solo godwars, I do all bosses with methods like 5:0, solo kree, solo bandos, solo sara, etc. When I did my tbow rebuild I quickly realized I was getting torn apart at godwars when going back to blessed d'hide. You might not believe me that people think this but I swear I've seen dozens of people that think this.

A very nice cheap (90k as of this moment) amulet to consider opposed to a fury is the dragonbone amulet. Equal ranged attack bonus and +12 prayer bonus (7 more than a fury).

I was hoping you'd mention the crystal armor set. Now that I have rigor and anguish I want to get this next and find the niche uses it has. I believe it can be quite powerful at saradomin and potentially zulrah. I know it has high upkeep but I'd like to still experiment with it. Now that the shards are "buyable".
I own crystal armour. It doesn’t have much upkeep really. I think RiceCup said, an hour of Zulrah uses about 8 shards per piece an hour (so 24 total). If you do Zalcano or crystal trees for passive shards, this should hardly be a problem. I haven’t tried it at Saradomin mainly because the amount of damage you take in GWD is pretty high. Instances where crystal armor is strong is where you need prayer: basilisk knights, hydra, brutal blacks, and DKS are all instances where it’s very good, as you negate 90-100% of all the damage you take in those instances by correct overheads. It’s also useful in instances where you’re cannoning + using blowpipe w/ overheads or prayer in some sort, as well as IMO being a BIS against Sire vents. It technically can be used in any instance tbow is used, but I’d say when you need to conserve prayer is where it shines.
Now RS 3 you need 99 familiar , curses , T92 armor augmented , perks for 300mil, super elder overloads ,scrimshaw , aura , ring of vigor and death for switch , adrenaline urn , cinder gloves and still get one shot when miss devotion :D

I was wondering what were your thoughts on the dragon crossbow amd the magic shortbow. I feel a bit bad about not being able to upkeep the low 500k an hour of the BP now that I mentioned it.

????? why would you start with darts? I don't get it. I know they're faster, but they give very small ranged attack and strength compared to rune c'bow and broad bolts.
Tremendously better dps, crossbows are only used because they are a bit cheaper to use, but low end darts are so cheap anyways you should only train with those
@@GnomonkeyRS I put it into that DPS calculator, and it seems that it is better dps, but I don't understand why. How could a mithril dart's 7 ranged strength beat out broad bolt's 100? The darts are twice as fast, but even so, 100 is over 14 times larger.

One thing worth mentioning is that blessed d'hide coifs also exist and are a cheap 1 attack upgrade over the archer helm.

Hydra has low range def. Only reason void isnt bis there is bc slayer helm. Difference at vork is void stacks with salve and slay helm doesnt

Nothing is cheap about the blow pipe or over powered when you actually include its hourly cost of operation.
I think it’s good to assume someone using an ACB I also using a twisted buckler.

actually, unless the ammo slot adds stats to darts, I'm getting less dps with darts than with rune crossbow with broad bolts.
