I swear these KendoGunShop videos are so informative, interesting and exciting to watch, specially for someone that is really into weaponry, and I really appreciate that it was the Broken Butterfly's turn for this video. The Broken Butterfly right beside the Hand cannon with the default reload are by far my favorite reloads from that game, the way Leon accurately and almost rhythmically put every bullet on each chamber is way more than just stylish.

So regarding the "Heirloom Theory", I think the obvious explanation for why it looks so different from the gun in the painting is that it originally was the gun in that painting that's had like a couple of centuries of upgrades performed on it by the Salazar family.
It could be that the revolver was a Salazar heirloom, but was modified to the form we have today, likely through the Merchant. Alternatively, Salazar or someone traded in the heirloom for the Broken Butterfly, for one reason or another, which is why the Merchant sells the same exact gun as the one in the chest.
A note about the Merchant's special dialogue when selecting the BB in the shop - it seems to be a reference to MGS3's Revolver Ocelot boss fight 1 and the MGS1 Revolver Ocelot fight. In both boss battles, Ocelot makes repeated references to the thrill and pleasure of reloading a revolver by hand-inserting the rounds into each chamber. Great video as always, Joseph. I love this channel.
I do not think so. Originally the Paterson did not have a loading lever as depicted in the painting, additionally when one was added in later models did not look like the latch style of the 1860 army. Finally, the Paterson never had a trigger guard whatsoever while the painting one does.
Ok, that would be friggin' cool! I actually fell madly in love with the Sig Pro from the original RE3: Nemesis. My love of that game inspired me to buy one in real life lol
I'm 3 years late to the party here, but here's a handy tip for any of you new RE4 Original players: When the Broken Butterfly is empty, take it to the Merchant and upgrade it's ammo capacity. When you do this, he fully reloads it for you! That's a full clip of ammo to play with, plus the extra bullet! You'll be shredding through enemies in no time! ...Of course, this only works on your first playthrough of the game, since you'll likely max out it's upgrades by the end. So NewGame+, you'll have to rely on finding ammo for it in the field.
I am a huge RE fan and especially the weapons so I really appreciate your work on this channel and also you have a voice rather similar to RE4 Leon so its sounds as though Leon is explain the guns details which is really sweet XD
Wow, I'm new to resident evil and after discovering this channel I'm really starting to fall in love with the story more and more. The stories behind theses weapons are just so cool! Keep doing great work!
Yeah looking at this gun it's like a Frankenstein creation of different types of revolver models like Harry pieces you mentioned in a video but the broken butterfly looks awesome
Awesome vid as usual man, this was easily one of my favourite weapons running through Resi4 the first time round, so memorable for its location, styling and slick as hell reloading Not to mention the sheer kick of the thing
A very nice video. This tied for my personal favourite weapon in Resident Evil 4 { it's tie is the Red 9, in case you were wondering } I really hope they do both weapons justice in the upcoming remake.
This gun in what started me down the road of side arm proficiency. From BattleField to Fallout, though none other quite compared to the original Broken Butterfly. :3 feel nostalgic just thinking about it!
the fun thing about the hybrid nature is it really makes the gun feel like a custom made 1800s 45 long colt break action kept in the family, and ramon just had custom grips made for it
The quality of your content is honestly phenomenal. been subbed since the first video and haven't seen a single piece of content I've been disappointed in. The care and the detail to the aesthetic of the custom imagery/set pieces shown on these videos shouldn't go without recognition! Aside from that? The brilliant format of storytelling on each of these weapons makes all of these videos even more engaging, plus the Paul Mercer voice likeness you've almost definitely heard more than 100x I'm sure! I see KendoGunShop vids uploaded; I simply click, like, and leisurely watch the video. Thank you for uploading again!
We see awesome comments like yours and simply click the heart and smile. Thank you for watching!
you should make a video about all the sig pistols in the games. p226, p228, and sp2022
Ok, that would be friggin' cool!
I actually fell madly in love with the Sig Pro from the original RE3: Nemesis. My love of that game inspired me to buy one in real life lol
videos about the silver ghost, blacktail, killer 7 and the hand cannon would be AWESOME, as always your videos are amazing, keep up the good work
I always assumed when the merchant made the quote about reloading that he was referencing how rare magnum ammo is
After a terrible day at work nothing like kendo to calm RES gun urges
Man, listening to this video gives me XboxAhoy flashbacks in the best possible way.
The giant robot is the best "wtf is this" moment in this game ever.
You know it’s a good day when KendoGunShop uploads
The broken butterfly the perfect weapon to take down any B.O.Ws
I'd even take a max Broken Butterfly over the purchasable rocket launcher.
So happy to see a new Kendo video.
Always a treat to hear your thoughts and breakdown of RE weapons
Wow, I'm new to resident evil and after discovering this channel I'm really starting to fall in love with the story more and more. The stories behind theses weapons are just so cool! Keep doing great work!
Fuck Yeah! New Kendo Gun Shop vid, what a way to start an afternoon! Can't wait to see where this thing takes me :)
Amazing video as usual. I especially liked the "Castle for sale" bit at the end of the invoice XD
Yeah looking at this gun it's like a Frankenstein creation of different types of revolver models like Harry pieces you mentioned in a video but the broken butterfly looks awesome
Awesome vid as usual man, this was easily one of my favourite weapons running through Resi4 the first time round, so memorable for its location, styling and slick as hell reloading
Not to mention the sheer kick of the thing
This was recommended to me, and I already love this channel
A very nice video. This tied for my personal favourite weapon in Resident Evil 4 { it's tie is the Red 9, in case you were wondering } I really hope they do both weapons justice in the upcoming remake.
Oh my. I found my new favorite channel.
Babe wake up
New KendoGunShop vid
I’ve been having a resident evil revolver gun fetish then one of my favorite channels gets that itch
Oh God I get to use this thing in VR soon
Maybe this is the gun that has the most badass reload action en the entire franchise.
I've played this game close to 20 times and have never even been in that room with the broken butterfly
This gun in what started me down the road of side arm proficiency.
From BattleField to Fallout, though none other quite compared to the original Broken Butterfly.
:3 feel nostalgic just thinking about it!
Nothing's better than a cool, powerful classical antique. Broken butterfly is the *BEST*
Thx so much for this vid👍
i play this game since im 5 and i still learn new things about it
nice vid man love ur work
Resident Evil is definitely the series where I continue to learn new things every now and then. Glad you enjoyed the video!
the fun thing about the hybrid nature is it really makes the gun feel like a custom made 1800s 45 long colt break action kept in the family, and ramon just had custom grips made for it
Love it kendo. So happy to see a new video so soon. Your content is amazing. Love this channel. Such a great choice of weapon to boot.
Love how they named the weapons love the chicago typewriter
I enjoy how the narrator and the video is very professionally done.
There isn't really a single fault I get out of this content!
That being said? Congratulations on 50k! Here's to 50k more and the big shiny plaque!
The broken butterfly has definitely saved my ass more times then I can remember
I saw your post on insta and knew that I immediately needed to check out the new video. Love your videos, guys. Keep up the fantastic work!
Awesome video! This was my favourite weapon in the entire game!☺
Dude your 3D rendering of the guns are wallpaper worthy!
Thank you!
Great video guys! i love the deep dive behind the speculation on why the broken butterfly was in the castle - suuuuper interesting!
