The "Positively Straight Squidward" essay had me rolling
To be fair, there's evidence. He did fall for Patrick crossdressing and was in sheer horror realizing it was Patrick. While there is a borderline case for Squillam especially that "Oh no, he's hot" moment, throughout the series he is pursuing women mostly. Also when Nickelodeon was showcasing their LGBTQIA+ characters, Squidward was not put on the list but Spongebob was (Asexual). If Nickelodeon doesn't consider him part of the group and the creator doesn't say (Rest in Peace) then I have reason to believe the essay person was right. Also things have been retconned in the Spongebob universe, there were early signs that Spongebob had a crush on Sandy even in the merchandize but not anymore. In the second Spongebob movie, someone wrote a song that implied that Spongebob had feelings for Sandy as well even going so far as to deny feelings for Pearl. Dang now that I recall, the writers made sure to sink that ship over time due to the age difference. In Pearl's case, Spongebob should be on the registry since he flashed her and her friends, not intentionally but still. Squidward is an interesting character but his love life is definitely not explored as much.
I don't know why I was invested in making this comment but I have been with the franchise since the pilot. I know some lore. That Squidward essay makes me want to defend Squidward as he is my favorite character.

@@LilyBannel technically spongebob being ace doesn't actually conflict with having had a crush on sandy since ace people aren't always aro, but if we're to assume he's also aro, sometimes aro people have false crushes formed out of thinking they had to have a crush and basically being like "well i like this person (platonically) and they're the opposite gender of me so i guess it's them?", so it could be possible that it was that sort of situation

@@froghavenHi, I'm someone who is very sensitive to being told I'm wrong (it has to do with my mental disorders), correcting people still isn't bullying. It may make someone feel bad, but most people aren't doing it with malicious intent and it's an overall helpful thing to do to prevent misinformation.

@@froghaven even if correcting someone for blatantly false information was bullying (which it isn't, and if someone lashes out because of it, that's an overreaction that they need to work on, not damning evidence that corrections are bullying) it's not like the commenters are being targeted directly? People are just discussing what was said on a completely separate website that it's unlikely the wiki users will ever find. Itd be too far if people tracked down the users and messaged them directly, but thats not what's happening here at all. chances are no commenters even know this video exists, let alone whether they're in it

For a show as weird sometimes as SpongeBob, I feel like it’s kinda no surprise that the wiki comments are like this.
Odd how parts of the fanbase treat this like a serialized show, or a show with complex character dynamics at all. There is no possibility that Squidward could get a girlfriend, or that Sandy and Spongebob marry, lmao. But I guess this is an expected result for any fanbase.
Also surprised there was no 10 page rant on why seasons 1-3 are the only acceptable episodes or something.

theres a good amount of air dissolved into water so its possible the building has big artificial gills that filters oxygen and nitrogen out of the water to fill it. or maybe there are natural air pockets nearby that she’s relying on

I have to confirm, while I am 16 right now, I joined ESB (and FANDOM) during 2017 and I was 10 at the time so I was underaged which was against the wikis rules but I never got caught because I was smart enough not to tell people, anyways I'm surprised I got on there and glad none of my truly unhinged shit got in here, but I do have quite a good amount of unhinged comments myself that I remember that weren't featured in this video
