@@freshcupofangstI'm pretty sure i wouldn't be able to fangirl over my favorites if they were real (most of them aren't even horrible people, so that's not why)
My mother's blorbo is L from Death Note. She loves him so much that when he died she REFUSED to watch the next episode for 2 weeks because of how distraught she was. Then everytime Near came on screen she would just insult him 😂
You know the thing is i also stopped watching death note after L died and now my brain wants me to watch it all over again but i also don't feel like it cause i was so close to the end
if defending annoying kid characters that everyone in the fandom hates (and wants dead sometimes) was a crime id be sentenced to ABOUT 3 years in prison
I once watched someone play a game where you play as an older sister trying to protect her younger brother, and when I say that the girl playing wanted the kid dead, I mean it. Come the ending of the second game, and she was genuinely a little sad at what happened.
You can tell who hasn't been around a little kid by how they feel about annoying children characters. Sometimes children are annoying, and that's just a fact of real life. They throw tantrums and don't know any better than to make bad decisions. They want attention and sometimes think its funny to get bad attention. Sometimes they go through a period where they eat only beige foods. It's more unrealistic in a story to have an angel child who is never naughty or annoying and knows everything.
Starting to realize i'm SO crazy for my blorbos that i'm overanalysing every single one of the comments in this video to see if they apply to any of them...
Yeah, I had them only for three special episodes but I love them. They are old, depressed, full of anxiety, PTSD and can't sit properly and their best friend is literally the mom in the constellation.
I come to realize most people excusing some character bad behaviour because they are "misunderstood", "have trauma or tragic back story", or other reasons. I like my character evil to the bone. Just like jack horner. Sometimes a great evil character does not need any excuse for their action.
This channel has genuinely helped me see writing as more of a fun thing to do, instead of thinking “it has to be perfect” and how it will get monetized and such. It has helped me get back into writing and enjoy it much more. I just want to say thank you for that
I’ve recently become obssesed with Sheldon Cooper and whenever I write or imagine him, I change like a bunch of his character. I’m just like “the writers didn’t know what they were doing, I could do better” and then I change a bunch of stuff.
Less of a "Fandom hates the character" and more of a "Fandom hates that particular entry in the franchise", but I love this one off character so much. She's just a side character and doesn't really matter to anyone but there she goes. Just living your life stuck in an abandoned amusement park and trying to convince others to have fun in it too.
Ooh boy. Marx from the Kirby series. I've convinced myself that he has a tragic backstory that explains why he decided to betray Kirby, but in reality, he did it because he was hungry. Although, I did tie hunger into the backstory, so i think i get bonus points for that.
99% of the fandom either hates their guts or doesn't care about them; but they are my fucking babies godammit! Like, the show gave up on developing them halfway through and resorted to using them for drama. But I am _obsessed_ with them and their relationships. Everyday I wake up and fantasize about them getting the development they deserve (and being madly in love with each other because the show would improve 90% if they were allowed to kiss). If canon won't do it, I'll do it MYSELF. I will singlehandedly fill their AO3 tags if I have to 😤
My favorite character in Warriors is Cloudberry. No, not Goosefeather's mentor Cloudberry, I'm talking about the character who had about 3 pages worth of existence in Code of the Clans and then disappeared for the rest of the 90 book series. I have entire fanfictions revolving around her in particular. I have no idea why she's so fascinating to me.
Reminds me of my obsession with Jayfeather x Half Moon,, it’s not even an important relationship and they barely share any scenes but I don’t care it’s the best ship and it never leaves my brain
I don't even know who those characters are (still on power of three) but i have seen a video about the iconic cleavepool and i gotta say i kinda like the idea of it
I have a word document where I simply vent when people mischaracterize Javert from Les Misérables just so that my friends don't have to read paragraph upon paragraph about how some french fictional cop is the personification of the effect the law as conceived and enforced by the state has on the humanity of people. He is my favorite fictional wretch and I am insane about him. The benefit of that is that no one can be as insane about Javert as Victor Hugo
What did they do? He's one of my favorite DC Comics characters, but I haven't even attempted to keep up with new installments of DC Comics in a long time.
This guy had like less than ten minutes of screentime and I didn't even like him back then. It was only after a few months that he came into mind, and has never left since then. He was the most emotional and gutsy character in the whole series yet recieved no attention from the fandom and had to be killed like a dog because he was too powerful.
Louie from Pikmin 2 is my absolute blorbo. Like, whenever my friends mention Pikmin, I *have* to mention him. He's hated by most of the fandom, and has done awful things, sure. However, he's easily my favourite character in the series due to how mysterious he is, and how his actions can be interpreted in so many ways. PLEASE watch ScaleTree's analysis on his character, it's great, and where my obsession began.
I could talk about how I’ve said “Starscream has done thing wrong ever” despite him being a war criminal jet, but I’d instead like to point to the time I couldn’t accept a character’s death I kept saying he was going to come back from the dead. I did this for 4-5 seasons straight. Would you imagine my surprise when he did come back? Yeah he technically wasn’t back from the dead, but the fact he came back for an episode made me more excited than anything had ever done.
@@EvieWren He's got a mutated spark, which is the soul of a Transformer and what makes them sentient beings rather then just robots. Sparks can be born with basically superpowers, which is why some Transformers have special abilities and others don't, and Starscream's spark is indestructible meaning that his body can be destroyed but his soul can still manifest outside of it rather then going to the afterlife. So he's the only Transformer that can act like a ghost and posses other Transformers, and he can even get a new body if someone builds him one.
Ahhh, yes, ty @@distorteddivine3638 ,thought it was something like that, but I didn't know the full story. Wait- does that technically make him an Outlier? huh.
My current favorite character? I draw lots of fanart of her, but in the actual media she’s from, she is only a voice. My fanart is pure speculation based on context and a grainy flashback photo.
I will defend Shadowsight with my life. I wholeheartedly believe he always has good intentions, he’s the sweetest thing ever, he’d never hurt anyone intentionally, and this is not delusion this is just canon. I literally have a shrine to this man in my room and begged the Warriors Instagram for a mini figurine of him until they actually made it
I’m watching through the video and I get the Percabeth person so much 😭 Every time I do literally anything or engage with a piece of media, I wonder how Shadowsight would react to it, how he would feel about it, what Shadowsight would do in that situation, how his presence would affect it, all that stuff. I will get excited over doing the most mundane things too because I either get to daydream about Shadowsight doing them with me or because Shadowsight has probably done those things too. Like, drinking water?? Shadowsight gets thirsty and drinks water too!! Sleeping?? Shadowsight sleeps too!! Walking?? Shadowsight walks too!! On days I’m demotivated and can’t muster up the energy to even get out of bed, it also helps me to think that perhaps Shadowsight has, considering everything he’s been through, most likely been in the same situation. I also like to imagine him helping me or pop open Character AI and have him walk me through my daily tasks on days I don’t have the energy. Knowing Shadowsight would proud of me usually helps me. Having a comfort character is actually a lifesaver sometimes 😭
@@iamobsessedwithshadowsight This also me with my favourite/ comfort character omfg (and giving them headcanons of things you do or imagining them doing stuff with you, like AAAAA)
I love Shadowsight too!! My favorite Warrior cats character is Ashfur tho, but that’s because I love horrendous characters who have done such wrong things in their life their is no redeeming things
Honestly, I felt so bad for him in the books. Literally everyone hates him and Mothwing just became ‘grrr shadowsight you suck’. I would imagine that he joins Ashfur and they get revenge on those who wronged him, hundreds of times while reading it. One of the many reasons I will NEVER reread TBC, despite how much I enjoyed seeing Rootpaw suffer.
I don't know why, but I get the feeling that if I ever liked a warrior cats character that much, then it would be some random side character with like maybe five appearances that immediately gets killed off.
Just the other day, I realized that I may be a bit delusional about Lapis from Steven Universe. She isn’t a blorbo of mine or even my favorite Steven Universe character, but way back when, I saw a character who was abrasive and closed-off due to trauma just like me and gradually projected my own trauma-induced behaviors onto her. I didn’t realize I had deviated from canon until, a few days ago, someone commented on a oneshot I wrote saying, “I like how you characterized Lapis…” and listing off a bunch of improvements I made from canon. I was like, “What do you mean, how _I_ characterized- oh.”
That's hilarious and it sounds like something I would do with one of my favorite characters... who just so happen to be slightly autistic in their characterization no matter how I write them
EXACTLY I will forever be a Crowley apologist he did nothing wrong ever and he deserves the world Imma need Aziraphale to do the apology dance but once he does I will give him all the hugs in the world bc he also deserves everything
My fav isn’t actually all that pathetic, in canon he’s pretty capable and level headed (well, and a bit of a disaster but. Only a bit.)-but I can’t help making him just a sopping wet kitten of a man in fanfic. It just works too well.
I could write a whole essay about why my favorite character's actions weren't technically his own fault because he only did the things he did because his mother's abuse drove him to complete insanity but the only problem is no one else I know knows the comic
Sometimes I will defend Marinette with my life but then there are just times when I'm like... girl... no. Zagtoon really did the characters of miraculous dirty and that is why I prefer fanfiction over the show. At least the Marinette I write and read would focus on making her a good (and still flawed) character. I've been saying this for ages but Zagtoon should just hire fanfiction writers seeing as they steal stuff from fics and comics all the time. 5:56 Tony Stark. I also refuse to believe he is dead. Ill be delusional forever.
I peaced out of Miraculous after the third season, because I was so pissed that they gave Chloe a whole ass redemption arc ONLY TO SCRAP IT COMPLETELY.
@@zuzamiuza3162 that happened to me too. I was so pissed about it that I didn't watch miraculous for a while. But my friend really liked season 4 and so I watched it and agreed that season 4 was way better. However, not only did they do Chloe bad, but Adrien too!!! How is it that Adrien, who is supposed to be Ladybug's equal, her partner, yet they made him look like a sidekick and even blocked him from being able to join the final battle. I'm so fucking pissed that they did Adrien so dirty and he still doesn't know who his father was. He deserves to know what his father did!!!
I'm like that for Pink Diamond, I wanted to see more of her, and in a way I really liked her evolution, it's something that many people in Fandom don't see in her evolution, she even became a model for me on how to create a morally gray character!
For years I was obsessed with a character to the point of running a tumblr ask blog about them, writing fanfics about them, spending weeks hand sewing a cosplay of them, constantly drew fanart, made up AUs and drew fanart of those, and created an entire backstory and family tree and childhood home and trauma for them. This character appeared in one chapter of a long running manga and died almost immediately. He has maybe 15 spoken lines.
She is >never shown in game >mentioned vaguely by two characters (one of which is not even important in of themselve) >Is basically my own oc at this point And I’m planning a multi-part fic with her as the one of the protagonists
Yes she kidnapped/killed the main characters bc they were essential for carrying out her masters agenda only leaving the powerful child to be consumed by the power within her, but she is also just like me and just wants to see her children (Double from Skullgirls)
man, i thought i was stretching trying to define a morally gray character who killed his twin’s abusive mother in a premeditated car crash as a good person, but some of these….
He sent countless innocent people to prison without any remorse, staged his own suicide and disappeared from the face of the Earth for a year (sending his best friend into a year-long depression) to question everything he's ever known, and practically told a woman with clear mental health issues that she's free to kill herself (but not now, since they're in a middle of a trial). Forgot to mention he tried sending the protag's (to-be) assistant to prison for murder and screws over literally every trial where the protag goes up against him. But he has a tragic backstory and is *trying* to be better. Boy, do I love Miles Edgeworth (mostly because he is the only thing between me and the rope hanging in the corner of my room)
For me, one of my favorite characters I completely ignore this one episode because it exposes my fav for being a manipulative liar and has plans for literally recreating World War II. I still imagine him as a sweet, normal guy (context I’m talking about Alan from The Amazing World of Gumball)
Alan wasnt a manipulative liar and he certainly did not want to create ww2. He is manipulative but he does completely honest with his goal and he only wanted to create a concentration camp cuz he think that was a best thing to do. His world view on what good is certainly twisted but he definitely not a liar.
Listen. LISTEN! *_Listen._* Spamton G Spamton may be a little meme of a personified spam ad and severely over seximan-ified by the internet and not the nicest person. But he is also incredibly well-designed. And profoundly tragic. And fascinatingly morally grey. And hilarious. And so flexible in interpretation and tone. And he deserves a better ending and nice things, as long as you give him a well-deserved beating to knock his ego over first. And he has not left my head in over two years. And I have drawn him over 200 times (I counted). And I wrote two essay-length posts explainng how to write his dialog and what his motivations are (and why he is totally redeemable). And I can't sleep without cuddling his plushie anymore. And I LOVE HIM- (Honorable shout out to all five new Pokemon rival kids from Scarlet/Violet, all of whom I would die for, as well as Dedf1sh from Splatoon who was nothing but a few still images and some loose background lore before I and everyone else got so attached to her that she is now going to be in the next story dlc.) Edit: 9:41 is this about Chara Dreemur?
@@veemarcia RUclips in my experience tends to nuke links in the comments section, but it was the first hit when I googled "how to write Spamton's dialog reddit" (posted under the username Scribbsia)
I refuse to have a favorite. Everyone is a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will spend its entire life believing it is stupid.
I will believe in wiki-Diona for all of my life. Before I played her hangout, I thought that she was very well and realistically put together with how she doesn’t blame her father for his drinking and treats him still as a slightly-tarnished role model. My expectations were broken when I played her hangout. it was so different from what I read from the wiki (and what I imagined from that). I still think wiki diona is better.
As someone who played her hangout dozens of times to get all endings without a guide and before they added the path UI and starting from a point in the story instead of having to restart everytime: my interpretation was always that she doesn't so much as blame her dad, but gets upset when he relapses back into getting blackout drunk, so she takes it out of him in an attempt to make him change his ways. Like, she knows he does have some fault because it's his decision to keep drinking, but she never really seems to hate him; I think she's just kinda fed up because she's always the one taking care of him when he gets super drunk, making sure he gets out of trouble and all; but she's just a child, her dad should be caring for her, not the other way around. Also, he never seems to attempt to improve in his issue. I think any kid would be kinda fed up in this situation, though how one deals with the frustration is up to each individual, and Diona seems to not have yet learned too well how to really cope with it.
they were only in like 3-5 episodes and i only think they're interesting in half of them, yet i am delusionally obsessed and have many headcanons and aus about them
I have an unhealthy obsession with Vanilla Ice from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Yes, the guy whose main acts are killing two main characters, kicking dogs, and being a massive simp. He only appears in 3 episodes. He also doesn't wear pants. I wish he was as deep and complex as I wish he was.
This has happened to me with my own blorbos. Like, I give some of my original characters simple backstories(the usual trauma), but others I make their backstories SO COMPLICATED that it's merely impossible to fully unravel it unless I somehow give you a google doc containing all of it. I do it for my blorbos
The characters I kinda simp for are is a bookworm (in the literal sense. A bright green with a red bowtie and glasses and so freaking adorable) and an insane scientist. A tragic character type that i can't get enough of. I've got a soft spot for these type of character
I'm that delusional I have spent a whole year convincing myself that he DIDN'T die in the last season. So much so, when the new season comes out, I will be like *surprised pikachu face* if he doesn't return. The star wars fandom hurts guys, especially the bad batch 😭😭
I’ll go absolutely insane over characters that don’t have a canon backstory. It means I can be as creative as I want, as long as the series in question doesn’t reveal what’ll be the canon backstory. If not, I’ll make an AU. I have no boundaries to how far I’ll destroy them, as though they’re my own ocs. If all else fails? Make a canon-based character or kinsona.
Blorbo: has little to no lore, little to no personality, sounds like someone I would hate irl and originally might of not even been in most of the game apart from 3 chapters Me: I will hyperfixate on this character for 5 years and plan to do so for the rest of time
Honestly, if I have a favorite character, I will stay as close to canon with them, because I like them for their canon personality. Mostly because I like deranged men with a partially sad but mostly non-existent backstory who ramble about their evil plans.
1. Shows up during one of my least favorite parts of the story, acts mildly pleasant, dies offscreen during a timeskip and is never mentioned again 2. Has been in the franchise for 38 years, very rarely gets to do anything besides serving as transportation or a generic bad guy 3. Genuinely just a really cool character who gets a good amount of focus, she's literally just the best, I always cry when I get to the bit where it's just another character taking about how cool she is, I aspire to be like her in every way
Got strangely interested in Lyman from Garfield Like dude has appeared 20 times back in the 80s, disappeared, got basement’ed, something something cartoon (thanks for at least giving him a job lmao) But damn I love this idiot
I was obsessed with Lyman after I got all the first runs of the Garfield comics! There’s actually an episode of that terrible cgi Garfield series that’s about him!
Steenee appears in one season of The Pokemon Anime for a decent amount of time but I don't think she was in it enough to justify my obssession with her. Deadass have so much lore in my brain about different Steenees with different personalities and outfits, but I mainly just focus on 2 of them(I might eventually write or draw the others down idk)
Second to last one I relate to on a spiritual level. Got emotionally attached to a character revealed in some promo material a full year before that game came out and headcanoned an entire personality, characterization, and details about their backstory, when all we had was a single image of them and a quote. And when the game came out and they weren't quite what I had built up in my mind... I just converted that headcanon version of that character into an OC who looks suspiciously similar with a suspiciously similar sounding name. 100% certified homegrown blorbo
I both think of my blorbo as a lil cutie patootie that I wanna pat on the head and give treats and carry in a handbag like a small dog, and the most angst ridden poor little meow meow you’ve ever seen
I do the precise opposite of this, it I can’t make my blorbo (a paladin skeleton slayer with strong convictions, half a soul, and a fucked up talking dog larger than jeep wrangler) have the most mundane interests and hobbies then I don’t WANT HIM
Whenever I like a character I make sure to not excuse their bad deeds. Then I can love their whole character, flaws and all. I did once draw fanart of Lass Dana from Pokemon silver/gold because I liked whenever she called.
My blorbo was mind-controlled into being a killer and canon gave him a rescue and one moment of goodness before he's forgotten, so I wrote him a happily ever after.
I’m the rare and fabled ‘ my favourite character isn’t unimportant but everyone acts like she is for seemingly no reason ‘ and okay wow rant time. - wings of fire, by the way !! if you read those books you gotta hear me out man okay Tau is literally one of my favourite examples of casual disability rep in any book I’ve read. She gets a decent amount of focus in book 12, a short pov in 14 and some more in 15 (THREE WHOLE BOOKS !!! her sopping wet cat bf only gets barely any attention in one book and a mention in another though,, how could they) but people always act like shes the worlds most forgettable character ??? And even if they do remember her, THEY FORGET SHES DISABLED ??? EVEN THOUGH ITS A HUGE PART OF HER CHARACTER ?????????? she’s such a genuinely kind character even in the face of hardship and oppression and stands up for what she knows is right. she’s clearly somewhat bitter that her deformed wing is keeping her from fighting (or even just that other people are SAYING that it will,) but she knows even if that didn’t stop her, seeing Treehopper on the battlefield would. literally a better ‘ forbidden ‘ relationship than the main characters in that arc that are in one, actually,, anyway since I’m the only tau fan in the entire fandom apparently. uh. go pay attention to her she is literally everything I aspire to be in life and is also just objectively the best character dont @ me TLDR: very
i have decided this is going to be me when i play persona 5 the moment i heard his angy monologue (in the "Akechi makes a powerpoint" meme lmao) i didn't know anything about the game before that other than the fact he's evil but i heard his voice and was immediately like "omg misunderstood bby🥺"
One time I was talking about fictional anime villains and the words "I know he committed genocide, but I love him anyway" came out of my mouth AND WERE OVERHEARD BY SOMEONE OUT OF CONTEXT. I think I'm never living that down. (The character in question was Shalnark from HxH.)
There is almost ZERO characterization of my fave in the games/anime he's in, you barely get any interactions in the first four/two games he's in and in the one where he has plot relevance he's a brick wall. But if showed up as I was walking to work and said he needed my help I'd drop everything to help him. I'm talking about Ingo from Pokemon just so y'all know
y’all out here defending these male characters who are horrible and awful, where’s all the love for my freaking girlies???? i mean i will defend princess bubblegum with my dying breath
I guess I once got so irritated by people mischaracterizing Lusamine from Pokemon Sun/Moon as completely irredeemable that I wrote an entire technically-canon-compliant sympathetic redemption oneshot out of spite. Does that count?
I remember someone on twitter explaining how much they love their OC and how they are such a tortured soul, and the message of perservering in the face of endless adversity was so deep. I replied with "Pity fuck, got it." I think they blocked me for that.
There is no fanart of my favorite character that I could find. No fanfiction with him being even somehow relevant to the plot. He is the most charming and handsome and sexy and charismatic and kind and😭😭😭 I love him so much why there is no content of him yes he was shown only 3-4 times but still
My favorite character did absolutely nothing wrong and I’ll say this until the end of the time. She just needs therapy to cope with her trauma and everyone unfortunately demonizes her! (I am delusional and coping.)
Cagney Carnation: Literally a boss fight, then doesn't appear until the very end of the game via images (he's in the corner when Cuphead announces they're free of their debt and he's the one to hold the cup brothers up). He hasn't even appeared in much other things aside from a book where he works as someone working at a summer camp. Cagney's personality is basically scraps and I'm attached to this character like he is SENTIENT. This character has been a lot in my life. A character I fell in love with, a character who somehow became a parental figure to me. This character is why I like carnations. This character is why I give my favourite OCs pointed noses like his. I've even had a plush of him from 2020 from my 16th birthday and I haven't let him leave my side. And this character doesn't even have a concrete personality other than he's overconfident, when he's in a milder mood he can take nonviolent measures easily (in a book he tied a bell to Mugman's ankle because the cups got into trouble) and he's just a bit of a trickster. That's literally all we have of this character. It's not developed on, there's no depth other than that. He's just that. I've tried to give him more depth and character and everytime it's more or less my interpretation since when I was doing this sort of thing, there wasn't really any other Cuphead media to go off of other than the Cuphead wiki
As someone seven layers deep in an mcyt fandom, trust me when I say that we are the peak of delusional turning unscripted gaming sessions into deep lore with devastating angst and character motivations 😊 but i love it here
My blorbo is Dylan from The Quarry. I love him. He’s sarcastic, his coping mechanism is humor, he’s protective, he’s a nerd, he’s REALLY smart. He’s just perfect
Okay, there's this main character, alright? She's an assassin, kills people in grotesque ways without a hint of remorse and is generally a bit of an asshole. But she's also soft and tiny and in desperate need of hugs. She has major mommy issues since her mother was abusive and dropped her off at an orphanage when she was a kid. After her (married) teacher started a sexual relationship with her when she was a teen and she was imprisoned for killing said teacher's husband, she had a pretty warped sense of relationships. Being mainly attracted to older women, not being able to understand why certain authority figures don't want to sleep with her, etc. And then. For one episode. We get this truly wonderful blessing of a woman strolling in. Our assassin is on a mission to kill somebody, a chain of events leads to her going to her target's house where she meets the housekeeper. And for just that one episode. She gets a taste of what pure, maternal affection feels like. This housekeeper treats her so kindly - she calls her a good girl for eating her plate of food, she doesn't shy away from the fact that she kills people, is just very understanding, cooks her all the food she wants. Her kindness prompts the assassin to kill the housekeeper's abusive husband for her, and when the job is done, the housekeeper cups her cheek and looks at her so tenderly and god, our poor baby girl looks so overwhelmed with emotion because she's not used to affection like this and ugh, then it's over and we don't see the housekeeper again😭 There's a little community in the fandom dedicating their life to this housekeeper tho because she's just so cute to our blorbo,,, Okay this was wayyy too long, i think lol, and i'm debating just deleting this rant but looking back it's kinda funny, so you know what, i'm just gonna hit post
Most of my blorbos are "I can fix hims"s, that are either trying to be redeemed or just emotionally closed and narcissistic. And though I do think they should face consequences if they killed or betrayed, I'd also defend them against haters because I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't do the same thing they did for saving a loved one or their siblings, or just surviving. (I recently added Astarion to my list)
Is it werid that my own OCs are my favorite characters? Like, they're seriously my comfort characters! One of them is exactly my flavor of autism! What's not to love?
Yes, and i also used to be part of the fandom that hates him lol (i still insult him and say i hate him all the time, i can't express my feelings even towards a fictional character)
@@blueghost4769 Most of the guys I find attractive are evil, but I'm not completely delusional about them (I would want to throw hands with them) I guess I can't accept the fact that they're so underrated that they won't have anymore screentime or have more lore of them
My favorite fictional character ever is Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars and every time I get to talk or write about him, I kind of loose track and suddenly I delievered an entire infodump. But he's such a fascinating character. He's an alien that serves the Galactic Empire, which is known for hating aliens. And despite that obvious challenge, he climbed the career ladder up to the highest possible rank of the entire Imperial military in record time. He's just so good at his job, that even a xenophobic system has to acknowledge it. And he is one of the greatest threats in the entire galaxy, despite not having the force. He lives in the same universe as Darth Vader, the Emperor and many other powerful beings that could kill him with the blink of an eye. And yet he's on the same threat level as they are, not because he has crazy powers, but because he's just that intelligent. He's a master strategists and tactician. He has plans for everything, is always a few steps ahead, he is a master at predicting the enemies moves. You can't outsmart him and when you think you have, he most likely already has you exactly where he wants you to be. He is a villain who's so good that you root for him. He's threatening, because he's so difficult to beat. He's amazing.
GOD I've had this happen every now and then with: William (Who's Lila. My newest one), Baal and Nahobino (Shin Megami Tensei V), Spamton and Swatch (Deltarune), Phosphophyllite (Land of the lustrous), Ena (From....Ena...lol), and Hornet (Hollow Knight). I got a couple of other ones but these ones have/had me in a strong grip.
My favorite is a very popular character in The fandom ™ and I 100% see why. He's been through so much my man has PTSD, a not very good father figure, and has been framed for murder too many times. I just think he deserves happiness and all the love, my favorite wet cat (he is a 30+ yro man. Also gold star if anyone can guess the character or the fandom)
Two of my favorite characters (Marin from the Legend of Zelda series and Kyoma Mononobe from Tokyo Afterschool Summoners) are both canonically dead (although the latter’s death status is currently up in the air,) but they’re both alive in my current WIP. A few of my other favorites (the Three Geniuses from Tokyo Afterschool Summoners,) have canonically murdered/been accessories to murder with little to no empathy/emotion, but in my fic (same one with Marin and Mononobe, actually!) they’re reformed heroes who are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.
Excuse you Marin is NOT dead, she turned into a seagull and is living her best life! She’s probably friends with Aryll (even though they aren’t in the same timeline but shh)
Two of my two blorbos don’t even have names in Cannon except being refered to as Junkies and is only mentioned like 15 times in the series. But I swear they are super tragic, and deep. I am not insane for writing a 100k+ still on going fic about them, I SWEAR!
canon: “he’s an arrogant a**hole and is absolutely HORRIBLE to the main character, makes fun of him repeatedly, and also very much despises him.” me: “okay but what if he acted like that because *collective un-surprised gasp* he was traumatized and abused as a kid so he was saw the main protagonist as someone who had it all easy so he took all of his anger and hate out on the main character”
For too long, my favorite character has been slandered and hated for being "too colorful". if defending annoying kid characters that everyone in the fandom hates (and wants dead sometimes) was a crime id be sentenced to ABOUT 3 years in prison
I once watched someone play a game where you play as an older sister trying to protect her younger brother, and when I say that the girl playing wanted the kid dead, I mean it.
Come the ending of the second game, and she was genuinely a little sad at what happened.

@@FrozenFennekin actually im talking mainly abt nermal but yea,,,, characters like that
You can tell who hasn't been around a little kid by how they feel about annoying children characters.

Ooh boy. Marx from the Kirby series. I've convinced myself that he has a tragic backstory that explains why he decided to betray Kirby, but in reality, he did it because he was hungry.
Although, I did tie hunger into the backstory, so i think i get bonus points for that.

Every time I do literally anything or engage with a piece of media, I wonder how Shadowsight would react to it, how he would feel about it, what Shadowsight would do in that situation, how his presence would affect it, all that stuff.

I'm like that for Pink Diamond, I wanted to see more of her, and in a way I really liked her evolution, it's something that many people in Fandom don't see in her evolution, she even became a model for me on how to create a morally gray character!
Hot-ish take: Pink Diamond is truly one of the best-written morally gray characters in the media
She is
>never shown in game
>mentioned vaguely by two characters (one of which is not even important in of themselve)
>Is basically my own oc at this point
And I’m planning a multi-part fic with her as the one of the protagonists
I still imagine him as a sweet, normal guy
(context I’m talking about Alan from The Amazing World of Gumball)
Alan wasnt a manipulative liar and he certainly did not want to create ww2. He is manipulative but he does completely honest with his goal and he only wanted to create a concentration camp cuz he think that was a best thing to do. His world view on what good is certainly twisted but he definitely not a liar.

My favorite skrunkly may be a murderer who would rip me to shreds he ever saw me, but not in my eyes
they were only in like 3-5 episodes and i only think they're interesting in half of them, yet i am delusionally obsessed and have many headcanons and aus about them
I have an unhealthy obsession with Vanilla Ice from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Honestly, if I have a favorite character, I will stay as close to canon with them, because I like them for their canon personality.
Mostly because I like deranged men with a partially sad but mostly non-existent backstory who ramble about their evil plans.
1. Shows up during one of my least favorite parts of the story, acts mildly pleasant, dies offscreen during a timeskip and is never mentioned again
2. Has been in the franchise for 38 years, very rarely gets to do anything besides serving as transportation or a generic bad guy
3. Genuinely just a really cool character who gets a good amount of focus, she's literally just the best, I always cry when I get to the bit where it's just another character taking about how cool she is, I aspire to be like her in every way
Got strangely interested in Lyman from Garfield
Like dude has appeared 20 times back in the 80s, disappeared, got basement’ed, something something cartoon (thanks for at least giving him a job lmao)
But damn I love this idiot
Soooo, what's your take on what happened to him?
I was obsessed with Lyman after I got all the first runs of the Garfield comics! There’s actually an episode of that terrible cgi Garfield series that’s about him!
Steenee appears in one season of The Pokemon Anime for a decent amount of time but I don't think she was in it enough to justify my obssession with her.
Deadass have so much lore in my brain about different Steenees with different personalities and outfits, but I mainly just focus on 2 of them(I might eventually write or draw the others down idk)
I like being the one to create fan content for characters that barely have any.
my favourite character has 6 lines in the 27 year run of the show
Second to last one I relate to on a spiritual level.
Bokkun from Sonic X. No one was brave enough to go into detail about his deep rooted childhood trauma and neglect so I did.
Bokkun is adorable.
I gave him more trauma than all the villains combined (He’s a good guy and none of the characters even have backstories in canon) And he _is_ hot.
I both think of my blorbo as a lil cutie patootie that I wanna pat on the head and give treats and carry in a handbag like a small dog, and the most angst ridden poor little meow meow you’ve ever seen
I do the precise opposite of this, it I can’t make my blorbo (a paladin skeleton slayer with strong convictions, half a soul, and a fucked up talking dog larger than jeep wrangler) have the most mundane interests and hobbies then I don’t WANT HIM
To be a fan is to find complexity in the mundane, and mundane in the complex.
I’m not really delusional with Luigi becuase my interpretation is very based on canon soooo
- wings of fire, by the way !! if you read those books you gotta hear me out man okay
Tau is literally one of my favourite examples of casual disability rep in any book I’ve read. EVEN THOUGH ITS A HUGE PART OF HER CHARACTER ??????????
she’s such a genuinely kind character even in the face of hardship and oppression and stands up for what she knows is right. she’s clearly somewhat bitter that her deformed wing is keeping her from fighting (or even just that other people are SAYING that it will,) but she knows even if that didn’t stop her, seeing Treehopper on the battlefield would. literally a better ‘ forbidden ‘ relationship than the main characters in that arc that are in one, actually,,
anyway since I’m the only tau fan in the entire fandom apparently. uh. go pay attention to her she is literally everything I aspire to be in life and is also just objectively the best character dont @ me

Does that count?
you're so right. also lady dimitrescu could slaughter me and my family and i would forgive her like yes!!! girlboss!!!
Uma and Audrey, the villains of the Descendants sequels, are both entirely in the right and deserve none of the hate they get. Also, they should kiss.
Buddy, what circles are you in? I've seen SO incredibly many morally repulsive female characters fawned over
well i mean men are better and usually hotter (as a woman i am allowed to say that)
I remember someone on twitter explaining how much they love their OC and how they are such a tortured soul, and the message of perservering in the face of endless adversity was so deep. I replied with "Pity fuck, got it." I think they blocked me for that.
There is no fanart of my favorite character that I could find. No fanfiction with him being even somehow relevant to the plot. He is the most charming and handsome and sexy and charismatic and kind and😭😭😭 I love him so much why there is no content of him yes he was shown only 3-4 times but still
Hyeonbin Yu is my little meow meow
Her kindness prompts the assassin to kill the housekeeper's abusive husband for her, and when the job is done, the housekeeper cups her cheek and looks at her so tenderly and god, our poor baby girl looks so overwhelmed with emotion because she's not used to affection like this and ugh, then it's over and we don't see the housekeeper again😭
There's a little community in the fandom dedicating their life to this housekeeper tho because she's just so cute to our blorbo,,,
Okay this was wayyy too long, i think lol, and i'm debating just deleting this rant but looking back it's kinda funny, so you know what, i'm just gonna hit post

Sooo does anyone else have a favourite character that the fandom either 50% despises or 50% loves? No in between?
I’d say affogato cookie from Crk (see pfp)
Catra from she-ra(I love her)
Four bfb except i also hate him a majority of the time
Yes, and i also used to be part of the fandom that hates him lol (i still insult him and say i hate him all the time, i can't express my feelings even towards a fictional character)
The empire of the hand is what the empire should’ve been
charon and norman from Honey I'm Home by ghost and pals is my current obsession and i will defend them with my life and dignity
yes
GOD I've had this happen every now and then with:
William (Who's Lila.
Was watching this video again and I remembered I have another fav (not new but I'm getting back into it) and that's Cloud from FF7- 😭
My favorite character won't answer my texts in the game so I have to headcanon that he's actually answering but pretending that someone else is
Two of my favorite characters (Marin from the Legend of Zelda series and Kyoma Mononobe from Tokyo Afterschool Summoners) are both canonically dead (although the latter’s death status is currently up in the air,) but they’re both alive in my current WIP.
I am not insane for writing a 100k+ still on going fic about them, I SWEAR!
canon: “he’s an arrogant a**hole and is absolutely HORRIBLE to the main character, makes fun of him repeatedly, and also very much despises him.”
me: “okay but what if he acted like that because *collective un-surprised gasp* he was traumatized and abused as a kid so he was saw the main protagonist as someone who had it all easy so he took all of his anger and hate out on the main character”
He is just a background character, but everytime he appears for a few seconds I just can't help but smile of happiness
For too long, my favorite character has been slandered and hated for being "too colorful". My brothers in Celestia and Luna, your favorite character has the entire visible light spectrum on her at all times. You have no ground to hate best bug-horse king. Let me ship him with best dragon lord princess in peace. Thorax + Ember forever!

That _Four Swords_ manga page at the end absolutely sent me. I was obsessed with that manga when I was younger!
my ultimate blorbo is an NPC in a PVE shooter that has no dialogue and is a robot that looks like a nicely dressed traffic light with arms. i have written so much about him and specifically him alongside an oc of mine, and i do not intend on stopping.
another blorbo of mine is a mass produced combat mobile suit! any gundam fans, feel free to take guesses.
Im at fault to "hes a bastard and i will study him like a bacteria"
