UPDATE: I'm talking to StudioBinder about correcting their video and making sure their future content doesn't repeat past mistakes regarding copyright and fair use - or anamorphics, for that matter. I want to believe people can be better so I'm giving this a shot. :)
Just a little imput. The scene from the motorcycles are from john wick 3, not 2. For the next, im not 100% sure of this, since i just heard it. But as i know, they used anamorphic lenses on that scene and even intensified the flares with a schneider true-streak filter. Still, amazing content, thanks for the knowledge and keep doing what you do, really enjoy your content 🔥
Thank you for the correction. John Wick 2 and 3 were both shot with Master Anamorphics, and used ARRI's streak attachment to boost flares (Master Anamorphics don't flares at all).
Thanks for your great clarification. Indeed, there's so much poorly researched stuff here, and people believe it w/o checking for a second source. your channel is so valuable for the anamorphic community. Love it.
Saw this studiobinder video yesterday and yours was recommended today. RUclips algorithm trying to make the world a better place 😂. Thanks for correcting all this!!
They used your clips but the RUclips algorithm has your back and sent me to you after stumbling across the Studio Binder video on a journey down a rabbit hole. Maybe there is some good in the world after all? I had trouble following the Studio Binder video, now I know why. Great response video.

Thank you. I was impressed with the StudioBinder video but very uncomfortable with the inaccuracies. I understand where they were coming from, and sometimes generalization is better than the, "...we'll be doing another video about that." However, nice to get the straight line from someone else who knows.
Hi. First, great video, so clear and concise. Second, I watched the StudioBinder video earlier today and had issues with it as well and though I have experience with lenses from years with film photography I recently started reading up on anamorphic lenses. But I had to rewind theirs on the ratios/squeeze factor, more / less glass etc parts. Anyway, thanks for your video plus I was stunned that they stole your stuff. Yeah, even in this day and age.
Why do ppl rush it to post videos? Don't they go thru some validation process - editorial? I believed StudioBinder's tutorial but now realized you can't just trust them. Thanks for the clarification. (I knew lots of their clips weren't theirs but from the web, but adding a little credit in the corner somewhere is the only right thing to do).
Ahh! Thank you for this video! Both their RUclips channel and their software seem to often miss the mark. It was nice to see you highlight it. There is nothing that upsets me more on a RUclips, than "experts" spreading misinformation. So glad you were able to take their misleading video off RUclips. Great job!
I’m glad you did this and studiobinder has a duty of care to make sure their content is on point, as they sell their product as a filmmaker and writing tool. I’m sure there was no malice intended but it’s good to know you’re working with them to keep the information highway flowing with “clean” knowledge.
Man, I just did a chat about the Sirui lens set on my own channel last week, and am now glad I told people to check out this channel, cause this video definitely corrects one or two things I said myself. YIKES! Thanks for always setting us straight!!
Still trying to figure out,.. is there an anamorphic lens for my Nikon D5500??😶 It seems the only Nikon addressed is the Nikon Z. 🤔 Figured,.. if "anyone" knows,.. it has to be you! Please. A little help for this old man?
Thank youtube recommendation to make me susbcribed to this channel, knowledge first, i saw the video and in some part i had the same questions about what they said.
I've been watching tons of videos and I think you're the guy to ask: What would be the widest, best anamorphic apsc lense for the Sony FX30, around 1500 UAD? The only lens I currently own is the Sony 11mm photo lens, but I love the cinema, flarey look. Thank you in advance, brother
@Anamorphic on a Budget Thank you. I didn't know if that one was gonna be wider than the apsc 24mm 1.33, but I'd rather ask pros. Awesome channel, brother. 🤜🤛
Oh, that was definitely not me as a kid - even though I liked homework... As a teacher, when my students ask if I'm forgetting homework I always tell them to chill out. :P BUT, I can totally see why you'd get that vibe. hahahaha
Funny.. this was one of the 1st anamorphic videos I watched. .. so in definition, Oxford says anamorphic - "denoting or relating to a distorted projection or drawing that appears normal when viewed from a particular point".. so I found your comments on distortion different.. is an anamorphic lens technically distorted until the image is desqueezed? Or is that not what they meant in their vid?
No that’ll be a real voice over artist. I’ve come across several RUclips channels (not film related) that use voice over artists who aren’t connected to the subject. It’s staple work for them.
Can you please make a video about the rathenower rectimascop 80/2x anamorphic lens? Since they arw still really cheap I bought mine for 75 euro's ($89) there isn't alot of information about it.
When i discover this channel i learn alot about anamorphic lens❤️ For now for cheap one i will buy a mobile phone anamorphic lens because my phone is my main csmera.
This is super great domain knowledge channel of anamorphic lenses. And yeah, that's a flare, not bokeh. You are the "master Ana-morphic", said that like in Start Wars.
We love you channel Tito! Let's collaborate on something. Not sure what, but still. I am located in Los Angeles, so if you want to take a trip some day and create an ultimate anamorphic test, I'll be able to set up a local rental house to help with everything! Much love!💛

Hi! New subscriber! I have tried to find videos of someone actually focusing a nanamophic lens but I can't seem to find one...., strange. This would be a logical step for me. I recently bought a 35 NAP 80-110mm (waiting for it to arrive in the mail). I am willing to accept the limitations of this lens but I wonder why nobody has a video, one shot of the focusing and one of the image being captured. Another point: don't some camera bodies compensate for native lenses for distortion, focus falloff, etc?
Look this one up:ruclips.net/video/yneSk9wdJWw/видео.html As for camera compensation, that only works for native spherical lenses. I haven't used one of those in years.
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Holy Mackeral! That was fast!!!!! Thanks . The main thing that i found confusing was that I'd see people just screwing the adapter onto the taking lens and then they would show their videos...., I would then look at my nikon 50mm 1.8 and Helios 44 and see how much the focus ring moved the front of the lens. I can clearly see in your video that there is a gap between the adapter and the taking lens. Many thanks from Toronto, Canada!

Both are 1.33x but that's where the similarities end. Am more interested in how to shoot wide screen than to understand the physics of the lens.
Nice work clapping back Tito, I'm actually surprised the video was taken down relatively quickly haha. It really bugged me that there was a lot of good production value in their video with the graphics, editing, and VO, but that they made so many 'generalizations' and relatively untrue statements (and I'm not even an anamorphic specialist). And of course the amount of footage they pulled from other content creators without credit was genuinely alarming. They seem a good company overall and I'm not sure who's managing their YT content; but this seemed like an obvious case of them taking advantage of the fact that most of the clips they were yoinking were from smaller creators, so that they could just get away with it. Here's to all the supporters who made noise in that comment section 🙌 Hopefully these misconception response videos won't be a regular thing, but after this, I wouldn't be surprised!

Just came from the reposted/corrected Studiobinder vid. Fascinating to see the changes made, which I assume were directly informed by your correspondence and/or this video.
