This video series is fantastic! I'm just jumping back into the filmmaking world after taking a break for 8 years, and so much has changed. So many affordable options are available now.

Hey Tito. Loving the Cookbook. Thank you for sharing your expertise and information with us. I have a question for you. What are your thoughts on using zoom lenses as taking lenses? Are there any negatives in doing so? I'm looking at getting something like the DZOFILM 50-125 as a taking lens for the Aivascope 1.5x. In theory, that seems like a dreamy versatile setup.

Hi Tito! New subscriber to your membership programme, great content so far. :)
I am creating mainly music clips for ancient-inspired musical instruments (very niche market, I know :) ).
I am interested in boosting our production value by incorporating anamorphic lenses (currently waiting for Sirui kit).
Any thoughts on that? Any suggestions for things to look for or something to study in that direction?
Thanks in advance and hope my lengthy comment not to discouraged you :)

Funny how lens manufacturers are advertising a bad performance at an open aputure as having a vintage look ;) Great videos!

5:57 What adapter you use for EF to PL mount?

    • @AnamorphicChannel
      @AnamorphicChannel  2 года назад

It's a L to PL adapter, from Wooden Camera. I don't have any EF to PL adapters, I always found them more disappointing than useful.

    Hi!
Excuse me if my question is already asked..
    I have a Blackmagicdesign Pocket Cinema Camera 6K and a 6K Pro
Both are fitted with an EF mount and both sports anamorphic modes.
The question is, is er a EF-anamorphic lens out there ?
    With kind regards.

You'd need to get a 3rd Party PL Mount for your Pocket 6K, and then you would need to spend heaps on an Amorphic PL lens.

What about XELMUS for the new companies in the Anamorphic industry ? Thanks for your great content ;)

Xelmus is pretty much the only one we can talk about. I reached out to them but no success there yet.

The Atlas 32mm EF 2x is almost perfect - just needs to be $5k instead of 10.

So far, I'm convinced that all differences and problems between consumer and professional lenses are artificial ones. One of the most disgraceful and oftenly used rules of capitalism: where there's no problems, make one and offer solution for a money.
No follow focus gears on two of the three lenses, mft only mount, moving focus glass that doesn't let you install matte box - all of these are artificial problems made specifically to ask money for the "solution". Much bigger money than cost of the raw material to solve it.

I can't disagree with you here. It would surely be simple to address some of these issues. Others, like the mount, would require a complete redesign and increase the cost of the product as a whole because of the new parts required. It's much more expensive to make elements to cover bigger sensors and have the same performance further away from said sensors (talking about EF mount here, for example).
