Well, Debussy played in a harpsichord is something i never thought i would see, marvelous
Likewise, I guess it is evidence of the unlimited expressive capacity of the instrument and its unendless life. You should try Piazzolla, the harpsichord amazingly has a very similar tone as the bandoneón. Very best.
If Jean Rondeau does a complete Debussy and/or Ravel suite I will die out of excitement.
Totally agree!!
You need an Harpsichord with sustain pedal i don't even know if that exist.
one again I see, that this instrument can do EVERYTHING.
Excellent, very well articulated!!!!
Plays such a dinamic range in an instrument where pressing harder do not make the tone louder. Bullet playing pianists please learn from Jean Rondeau, how to play this correctly!!!!
Also I love how he keeps the sustained bass notes pressed when possible, and plays the rest with right hand!
*_There is something about the sound of the Harpsichord that seems to give you a real sense and feel of the far past, so lovely ..._*
Debussy on a harpsichord ! Delightful !
This is what I keep saying for years now: every classical pianist should take lessons on Harpsichord, clavichord, organ, synthesizers! It helps building an overview of the different possibilities each keyboard has, and stepping out from clichés on the piano itself.
the interesting mix of modernity and tradition its interesting
Incredible! I love how he plays the ending in such an amusing way
WOW! Brilliant idea and it works sooooo well (not least because of an excellent interpretation). Thank you!
This is one of the few pieces by Debussy which fits in with harpsichord perfectly! Like it was written for it
Sarabande perhaps? It could sound amazing on a piano
Exceptional performance!♥️
VERY NICE SOUND BRAVO
Many thanks!!
😊FULL of FANTABULOSITY.. both CLEMENTI and DEBUSSY would approve!
When you find what you were looking for, it is impossible to evaluate it with a comment, because there is such a quivering delight inside, which is also impossible to express with a comment.
Thumbnail looks like he is wearing light armor and holding a sword 😂
Beautiful music as always
Well Dr. Gradus ad Parnassum.. In hapsicord. That’s something gives a different aspect In sound and In the same time create another innovation In music.. Bravo !
Sounds fine on the harpsichord 👍👏🏻👏🏻
Simplemente exquisito!!!!!
“And then, it allows us to rediscover the work, because we hear it differently.” Bravo.
Jean Rondeau ranks up there with Wanda Landowska. ❤️💕
Magnifique!
Bravo!!!!!!
New Rondeau, I'm popping off, let's go
MERAVIGLIOSO!!!❤
Maravilhoso!
This tickles my brain
Interesting how you've got to play with time to get the same point across. Cool idea. Debussy would have liked this.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏
Very interesting choice!
Nice
Jean, for the love of god, please play Le Tombeau de Couperin!
Aplausos
👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹👏🌹
👏👏👏
'The Snow is dancing' ça pourrait aussi bien marcher au clavecin
👏👏👏👏
I didn’t expect this to be played on harpsichord, although it sounds good.
A what now ? This is a harpsichord, not an organ, those are two very different instruments ! :p
@@Loweene_Ancalimon My bad, I don’t know how I could have done a such big mistake… thank you for noticing it making me know, I’m sorry about that.
Bizarre but interesting.
❤🖐💋
the last two chords he presses....i burst into laughter! how different would that be on piano!! however, very interesting to hear a piano piece played on the harpsichord
Signore pietà. Cristo. PIETA PRATO DI AMORE AMORE. PURO. MADRE. MARIA. GE SU
Where do you even buy a harpsichord? There's not such a store on the west side I know that.
Ever heard about google search? 😅
Titus Crijnen. Check out his site
I think this is probably as convincing a case for playing Debussy on the harpsichord that any artist could possibly make, and I found it very interesting.
That said… I’m not convinced.
keep us informed
I would have to agree ✌️❤️
I actually prefer this to the piano.
But how did he get on a major recording label?
Same for me, it is still great.
Hi I'm Dave
2:15….
If you played it slower then the notes would sound less smushed together.
If, like me, you abhor the idea of playing Bach on a piano, then I suppose you have to abhor the idea of playing Debussy on a harpsichord. But if your name is Rondeau then you can get away with anything.
I think both can sound good on both
Rachmaninoff?
Just...why?
Doesn't sound good. Sounds jarring and messy
