Honestly not a fan of the grainy footage. While it helped to hide the fact that this was produced in a game engine, it took away a lot of the detail that would make this type of thing immersive and believable imo. Also there were scenes where it negatively impacted my ability to tell exactly what was going on, which may be intentional, but as a viewer it mostly left me frustrated as I'm looking at an undetailed video of..*something*. A good example is in the combat scenes, where it's hard to tell exactly what's happening, who's dying, who's fighting who, etc. But otherwise, I love the video and thank you for the content.
@@ATSucks1 Well that's kinda what I mean in a sense. It helps with immersion by covering up the fact that it's created in a game engine, but removes from it for the same reason by removing the details. Like, because of the removal of details, and as a developer, I instantly start focusing on the animations for certain tasks like opening doors, reloading, hiding behind cover, and that, to me, breaks immersion. I wouldn't be focusing on that if I had other details to focus on instead, but those are removed with the grainy footage. I just can't stop focusing on how perfect the reloads always are, or how the people never look at their feet when they step over obstacles, etc. Like, they walk over parking curbs/bumpers without even looking at where they step and it seems robotic.

I mean... That's MTF- They're all used to dealing with paranormal bullshit, I remember reading an article in the MTF Wiki, about how it's mentioned they are trained with how to properly react to an anomaly of any kind, It starts with sending the units in a small prop house, and as they progress, they are tested through the forcing of loud volumes of sounds into their ears and quick image projections of monstrous creatures. Is it kind of shock trauma inducing? Yeah, but they're mot hard-debriefed on every single thing and they go through these kinds of training over an dover again, to force them to always maintain a call mannerism whenever they encounter Anomalies and Reality Shifting Entities. They also have alot of gadgets that allow the m to subdue any kind of Entity, the Scranton Reality Anchor. in Log Files uncovered in SCP 1730 'S OPERATION, SRA already had their format reduced considerably to a portable flare-like device, those things used to be enormous machines,a nd nowadays you have them in all sizes for those MTF Operation Squadrons. BUt, I understand that most of Evan royalty's videos it always shows those MTF units carrying less and less of their default fun gadgetry, appealing towards the ''realism'' and just nerfing the whole MTF considerably. Afterall, in the ''canon written lore'' documents from SCP Wiki, the MTF units are always portrayed as invincible, even though most of the log file of their operations include a large amount of deaths of MTF Soldiers whenever they have to deal with monstrous creatures that can go invisible or are ten times their size. But dealing with reality benders is super easy for them~!

Again, I love how professional the soldiers are portrayed in this and the previous production. They're not jar-heads that lose their cool the instant things go south; they know what they're doing, they've got contingencies in place in case someone gets lost/killed, and even when cut off from the rest of the squad by an inter-dimensional rift they keep their heads level and look for a way back home. That being said, the headcams were a lot less tolerable than the previous fixed cameras of the last video. I know that there's good logical reasoning as to why this had to be, but it did make the video hard to watch at times. The head-bobbing really got to me.

i think its a scp thats not in our dimension, it has a soundbox on its head playing music, which probably can get really loud and kill anyone, by grabbing the target and blasting them with music, that kills em. They then get somehow eaten.
We laugh about it, but there are moment where bureaucratic red tapes and budget trolling inside the SCP organization have create this kind of situations.
Wasn't there in lore reason for low quality video? My mind's drawing a fart on recovering the specific SCP, but there's SCPs out there that would act even through recordings. So the camera's purposefully obfuscated to impede such a thing from happening. That and IRL it's always like this. Prior to GoPro4~5 body cams were shite. And for good reason, anything good enough to make a good picture would be too fragile. I remember high quality cameras contemporary to GoPro 1~3 that would be dropped on the table, and die, let alone in a combat shituation where you'd say get tossed into a wall or run and jump to evade enemy action. Now, a super sidenote/tangent, but think about it in this way, NASA in space didn't use high def cameras on the space station until people started crying about it. They saw no reason to keep putting cameras out there. Obviously, most people would think "but ain't that idiot with the twatter putting good cameras in space?" yeah, the twat is, but he's perfectly ok with ruining cameras on every mission, NASA runs on a budget that's both monetarily and weight constricted. And as for why it's a pointless endeavor to put a camera up there... go check out the official video from NASA on the expansion module named "bigelow", which was brought to the station a few years ago. When the camera man enters that space which is devoid of light on account of being a test platform, you can see in the darkness the utter carnage that the CCD has suffered from stray radiation that bombarded the chip. There's dozens of such hits on that. Now imagine what happens with chips of the memory kind... yeah, laptops and other hardware that gets sent up there. On those, at the very least they can lead line the HDD or specific chips, but commercial cameras? Not doable, the lens is a way in, so in a mission, you'd damage one camera. That's 6k usd per mission, per camera (they used the D4 Nikon) to keep up with good quality, most of the time, those cameras sit protected inside their jackets. And NASA doesn't have the budget to make a proper camera, so that's not an option either. Now take all that info, if we abstract the lore regarding SCPs and you'll know why they'd most certainly have shit cameras, even without the issues of the job. If NASA doesn't make their own camera, nor would the SCP foundation, which would most certainly skew its budget towards SCP containment and SCP containment R&D. Stuff like cam quality would be fourth hand. Just my 2 cents on it, kinda went on a rant. :)
@@aserta Yup, I see your point. I'd say the main issue with cameras would be the SCPs that react to being recorded, seen or taken a picture of. SCP-096 for example, that would be a huge issue if recorded and distributed. I get why shitty cameras would be used in those cases.

It won't happen. Creative Commons {I think that's what it's called} doesn't allow the use of work without permission of the owner for it to be used. Which means EVERY ARTICLE on the SCP forums has that. So let's say if they wanna add 096 to the show they will need to ask the owner and stuff. And it would just be hard.
@@matic8720 considering there's SCP video games, I don't think it'd be *too* hard. I also appreciate the creative liberty of a perspective of what the Foundation has to do to maintain normalcy when national governments don't feel like being nice. I'm assuming the line in the description about Detachment One's existence being controversial is a kind of preemptive counter to people who don't subscribe this to their own headcanon. It's a fresh take that raises questions about the Foundation's actions toward its mission goal.
Absolutely stellar content, please keep up the good work!

That being said, the headcams were a lot less tolerable than the previous fixed cameras of the last video. I know that there's good logical reasoning as to why this had to be, but it did make the video hard to watch at times. The head-bobbing really got to me.

SCP Foundation: We need recording cameras for our operatives.
Also the SCP Foundation: *Gets the ones that come in 144p resolution*
