We cleaned up the ocean floor to save corals

75% of all ocean garbage is invisible to us: It sinks directly to the ocean floor, where it kills corals and endangers marine life.
We teamed up with Coral Soul from Spain to clean up the ocean floor 40 meters beyond the sea, and save a marine paradise that was slowly turning into a coral graveyard.
Underwater currents made the work difficult and even dangerous. But equipped with the right tech from the Planet Wild community, we were able to navigate the ocean depths efficiently and safely.
A big thank you to Coral Guardians for facilitating this mission.

Amazing job, l wish l could help, or sign up
Hi sir how to join up your team 😍to save...
@@dineshg5972 Hey, it's super nice that you'd like to work in the area of nature protection and join us! The world definitely needs that! Unfortunately, we do not have any open positions right now.
I think the fishing industry should also contribute,
because cleaning their garbage actually brings back more fish for them.
It is so good to see that there are people out there who actually care about our planet and do something meaningful!
Exactly how we feel! 😊It's so inspiring to see how many people are joining us from day one to support our missions and make possible even bigger ones!
That's what we do! 😊🌎✨
This whole action should be payed as a penalty fee from the fishermen who left the nets down there. Thank you guys for your effort
Unfortunately it's really hard to track who exactly throws or loses them in the open sea... Thanks for your encouragement ☺
Shouldn't that be anyone who eats fish?...
@@planet-wild aren't fisherman paying taxes and fees to access the sea? they should, in the same way that we pay taxes for the upkeep of roads and public spaces, these taxes paid by people extracting value from the sea could be used to keep the sea clean!
Why isn't this channel more popular? The production value is amazing
We are just starting and would be super thankful if you helped us spread the word! 🚀
Feel free to forward our videos to people who you think might be interested. 🙏 And subscribe to our channel to make sure you don't miss any future videos. ☺
The next one is coming out in a few weeks! 🌲
Share links on your social media to spread the good word :)
For anyone that is unclear about the danger, to go below 30 meters you need specialized training and gas. You can't just dive with regular oxygen because the time you can spend at this depth safely is basically zero.
This is incredible! I have always been worried about the plastic situation of the ocean, really glad to see people taking care of it! This channel really needs more attention!
Thanks for your encouragement! ☺Feel free to share the video with anyone who you think might be interested to learn about this issue - this would be a great help.
the plastic is destroying marine life with lands
@@planet-wild I already subscribed but I like this operation

Wow!! Seeing the before and after shots of the corals is just so incredible!
Happy you liked it! 💙
Damn! Earth is an unique planet that has life as we know it but the way we treat our planet is a crime. God bless you for taking care about environment!
🙏
I was scared for the divers all along, that is a really dangerous job where mistakes easily become lethal. Thank you for caring for the earth.
Indeed! It's far from being a walk in a park. Thanks for your encouragement! 🙏
Another proof that we need to increase our efforts to stop more plastics from reaching the ocean.
Absolutely! And decrease the plastic usage in the first place.
Wow, fantastic new mission! I’m super happy to be able to support such an amazing group of people dedicating their free time to save our oceans.❤
Thanks for your support Peter! 💙
Cool
This is such an amazing project. I hope the coral they save can flourish for many years to come.
After what we have seen onsite, we are positive that they will! 🌊
What a fantastic series and cause. Get them fishnets outta here!
So proud of you folks...you rock ❤ Thx for supporting such an important cause!
Thanks for supporting us with your encouraging comments 💚
Thank you, Coral Soul, and Planet Wild. You're doing such important work.
@@StopWhining491 Thank you four your support 💚
Thanks for doing this. We all live on the same planet and share the same oceans. Even though I don't live in this region and I don't see the effects of ocean pollution in my daily life, I feel that doing a little bit of work like those guys are doing will have an effect on other marine ecosystems as well! Next mission: Great Pacific Garbage Patch? :-)
Absolutely! The effects of ocean pollution in one region can have far-reaching consequences for marine ecosystems around the world, so we are all in the same boat.
We'll consider the Pacific Garbage Patch 😉, in the meantime, all of us can contribute by reducing plastic waste💪.
Great initiative. Keep up the good work. Curious to see what comes next. I am proud to support Planet Wild. Let a 1000 flowers bloom!
Thanks a lo for your support and encouragement! 💚
Finally a next mission!💪🏼
Can’t wait for the next one!
You are doing an amazing work, keep it up!👍🏼
Thanks a lot for your encouragement 💚
Thanks so much for your detailed feedback and support! It's really inspiring for us to know that our community members are hungry to understand this world better and are willing to take active steps to make a positive change. It means the world to us. 🌎
When I see the faces of this people ( full of satisfaction) this really get me motivated to believe there out there really exist people who cares about others living kinds
There are many people who do that!
On every mission, we meet people who dedicate their lives or at least a considerable amount of time to just that. 💚
It's so wonderful to see that there are people who are making a difference. Thank you very much for your work! It's also great that you give background information. There is so much to do, how do you decide what to tackle? 😅
No matter where you look, there is garbage everywhere! In most heads it is still not arrived that we must do something, each individual should contribute, let it be "only" always having a reusable bottle of water made of glass or the like, instead of buying a plastic bottle on the road. Ok, in the video in this region 75% of the plastic in the ocean comes from fishing nets, but the other 25% comes from people. In the video we saw many plastic bottles above and in the ocean, as an example.
About the membership: I'm sure if you offered an additional 10 Euro membership, most people would choose it instead of the 5 Euro membership. I know I would :). Most people joining you are aware of the problems and maybe donate regularly, I already donate a lot, financial resources are unfortunately finite.
Thank you!
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. 💚
There is indeed an overwhelming amount of environmental issues to address, and deciding what to tackle first is not an easy task! We have a blog post where we explain, how we decide, whether a project qualifies. Have a look, if you a curious planetwild.com/blog/heres-how-were-selecting-our-projects.
Absolutely agreed on the need to spread awareness and the power of little steps! Creating awareness is an important part of our mission - we believe that we can make a significant difference together, by spreading awareness and taking individual steps towards a more sustainable future.
Thanks for being a part of this journey ☺
Thanks to the Astrum channel I have found this amazing channel. So good to find people that bring hope through action.

Thank you for supporting this extremely important work, and for documenting it.
Thanks for the support and appreciating our efforts in our mission! 💙😊
The best way to help the ocean be free of plastic is to stop it getting there in the first place. As it was said in the video most of the plastic are from fishing industry, we must stop eating fish to help our ocean, we have a lot of alternatives for fish.
🙌 While this is not the case, let's do everything in our power to keep the corals plastic free.
Thank you for doing this!!!
Sabine brought me here! I've signed up! I love the work you guys are doing ♥️ Faced with government inaction on pollution and climate change, we have to try and make any difference that we can while we still can.
Thank you so much and welcome to our channel! 💚 We're so glad to have you as a part of our community. Together we can make a real difference for our beloved planet! 💚🌍
I would have thought that with them doing this twice a week, it would cost way more than 5000 a month. What an amazing project and cause :)) So awesome to see people doing amazing things like this
Thanks for the support and feedback! 💙🙏 It certainly shows that such little efforts and contributions, create positive ripple effects to change our planet for the better. 🌎 🌊
As far as I've seen, you've done so many conservation efforts in Europe, which I have a lot of respect for, but have you ever thought of supporting projects outside Europe, say Asia?

You guys rock!!!! Will be needing your help in India also!
Thanks!
Amazing work! These divers are so cool wow ❤️
You're so cool Johannes 😊🌎✨
Great initiative!!!! ❤
FANTASTIC WORK!! There's something that most are not either understanding or simply don't care is that what the plastic particulates will eventually do is to shut down the natural sea water to fresh water desalinization system and once that happens it will be too late
"We plan the dive, then we dive the plan" i need that on a wallpaper
Thanks, good work, faith in good people
Thank you for your wunderful important work🙏🥰

As a diver, I am so jealous. I'd join their team in a heartbeat. I'm not rebreather certified yet, but I saw some doubles being used!
Amazing work ❤
Thanks for your support! 🙏
Thank you for helping restore our planet for the future generation.
fantastic job and many blessings!
Planet Wild, I am totally blown away by this ambitious, awesome project! Everyone concerned deserves heaps of gratitude for taking this on, considering how much work and expense is involved. It is sad that so much plastic rubbish has ended up in the seas, and what a seemingly endless task it is to clear the stuff. I am wondering though, what is to prevent the plastic netting, etc, from eventually getting back into the sea? Does it just go to landfill, or can it be salvaged and repurposed somehow?
Thank you for highlighting this important mission, and Good Luck in all you do. As one of your backers, I look forward to more of this vital work.
Thanks for your work!
Thanks for your encouragement ☺
Thanks for you work and to all who helped to finance these projects

Have you guys ever thought about combining with Mossy Earth????? You guys do the same work, maybe you both could be more effective or widespread if y'all worked together...
Thanks for this idea, Danielle! We don't have any specific plans for collaboration with them at this point, but that indeed might be interesting.👍
Supercool channel - you converted me from a passive environmental enthusiast to an active one (i.e., taking action locally as well). High five!
That's fantastic news! Thanks for letting us know. Please send us any updates on your local actions.
And more and more missions to come!!! Well done!!
thank you! 💗
Thanks for your support! 🙏
Imagine what we could do without having to decompress. Half the time is just spent waiting. Larger, deeper cleanup efforts will be unfeasible without substantial financing. Hell, there are some areas where you would need saturation divers staying compressed for a week to truly make an impact. That will cost millions.
There is potential for implantable nitrogen scrubbers or even liquid breathing in the future. Which could be a game changer for ocean floor cleanups.
Does most of the plastic then end up as shallow marine sediments?
I often wonder what's about the polluter principle. Are there any consequences for the fishing associations?
Yes, I know we don't do much better on land either, but what we're doing to the oceans borders on scavenging.

i would like to join but i can't swim :]
but i'm still try to keep the land clean
You can clean up the plastic forever and it's not going to solve the problem. Everyone needs to force the petrochemical companies to STOP using petroleum based oils and instead use plant based oils, that break down into non- toxic biodegradable waste. Fishing nets would still be dangerous for sea-life until they decompose.
That’s actually a good idea 👍🏻! Are there any advocacy groups fighting for the use of plant based compostable materials in manufacturing?
You guys are the best 👍
🙏 thanks for your encouragement 💚
Very much thank you for these inspiring videos
