Technics RS 1500/ 1506 reel to reel tape deck repair - Part 3 removing the reel motors. Short demo of the deck reels moving tape. then a close up of the motor tables then to the back of the machine and the reel motors are removed.
This is part 3 of a complete break down demonstration "HOW TO" remove the reel motors. The Capstan motor is next then each of the boards. until there is not a single part left to be undone...
The music is provided by Pink Floyd at concert in 1977 at the Oakland arena in California. THANK YOU ! You can see the tape play here on a Crown 800 reel to reel tape deck. That capstan motor looks massive!
FOR SURE never seen anything like it. Its like a tracker flywheel. I think it may perform a similar function to a heavy turntable platter

Both Reel motors are the same? I mean, Can I Switch both witjh out any issue?
to all out there be care full of the reel table i drop a spool on the left one yes it came right of the tape hold part i have the tooling to fix the reel table
just be care full there was a tape case down of the rack 1/2 1 inch that did the break it of was easy to fix i have nabs on it all the time and you can't tell
it's all one part not like a some makes
