    I noticed the battery wires binding into the servo arm right off the bat. My simple fix was to bridge a pop cycle stick across the battery compartment between the back of the battery and the servos. Forcing the Balance wires and battery wires upwards, and not back into the servos. I made this mod. before my first flight. Hopefully my explanation is clear enough to understand.

      That's a great idea. Once I do my upgrades I will try that out.

      G ISALL @@WDRC me as well! Great tip. my elevator control rod was NOT tight ..from the box after Purchase. i REALLY had to hold my mouth just right to get that elevator rod in right place ( and TIGHT). Then hit it with hobby glue, and Marked/measured rod poking out. Maiden Flight was AWESOME!!! but worried that bad boy would come loose( and LOSE my plane!)

    The reason your battery monitor went off is because when you hit the throttle hard at take off the voltage drops down for a split second below the threshold you have it set for. This is normal. But once it goes off its not doing what you want it to. I stopped using mine because of that. I just do timed flights of about 6-7 minutes.
    As far as flying in the street in front of your house, well let's just say you must have good insurance and very tolerant neighbors.

    • @WDRC
      @WDRC  Год назад

      It usually never did it unless something was wrong. It's weird, I set it at 3.4v there is no way that little motor made it drop that much. Now on one of my edfs I can see.

    Bad idea to fly on your street, go several streets over next time, or better yet, go to an approved location, like an rc club. Maybe the drivers are thinking here's a crazy guy flying his plane off his street. Is it necessary to explain what might happen?

      Actually everyone that has stopped and talked with me think it so awesome watching from their homes. I am unable to drive due to recovering from a motorcycle accident. Lucky to even be here to share this hobby. I have a rc club field that i go to when can get a ride, or i go to the soccer field. As long as flying safely and not chasing cars or people, you are able to fly anywhere. No flying above 400ft within 5 miles of airport. One day i hope to be able to get back out to the rc field. Thanks for watching.

    Just came across this video so a little late to the party. Had the same thing happen with the right Aileron intermittently not letting the plane turn. Finally figured out it was a bad servo. Had a tooth or 2 missing on one of the gears. They Scout comes with pretty cheap plastic servos. After replacing that one a few weeks later the Rudder / Nose gear servo gone the same way. Replaced all the servos with metal gears and no more issues.

    • @WDRC
      @WDRC  Год назад

      Yeah I changed out all the servos too but I think there was something else up with it. Maybe I should have put metal gears in it.

    This happens to me on a plane with an upsized battery with high C ratings.
    So i learnt that if i wanted to run a bigger battery than factory specs i must make sure it has a low C rating.
    Correct me of im wrong (still new)

    • @WDRC
      @WDRC  5 месяцев назад +1

      No I was having issues with the elevator from when I first got it. It was only the elevator that was acting up, never had other issues with the ailerons. I bought another one and haven't had issues with it yet. Happy RC Flying!

      I was thinking when you throttle up that it cuts out as I had this issue.
      When I gradually increase its ok etc. I was confused my self sorry haha

      @@RBXXV I don't remember if it was cutting out but I run high C packs in all my planes for the extra boost power to try and get out of sticky situations. Happy RC Flying.

      I must have me a situation then. I literally bought this apprentice stol not long ago and since new has had this issue with responding to full stick instantly. I thought this was normal as I mentioned earlier I'm new to flying (planes) and didn't make much of it.

    • @WDRC
      @WDRC  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@RBXXV have you swapped out servo for metal gear servos? I believe that was my issue was that I was using plastic gear servos. I learned very quickly that on planes the metal gear servos are much better for control and longevity for more flights. If there are any questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask, if I'm able to answer or something I could possibly help you figure out. Happy RC Flying!

      I run the voltage meter at 3.4v, it's not set to high. At 3.2v it's coming down regardless. I try and get as long of flight as I can. Also depends on how hard you push it doing stunt maneuvers.
